I have three recall notifications and Nissan customer service says they are not valid to my VIN. So are these recalls not valid or does Nissan not want to recall my vehicle? recall subject : passenger side air bag inflator may rupture report receipt date: Jun 24, 2014 NHTSA campaign number: 14v361000 component(s): air bags recall subject : Nissan/crank/cam position sensor weld report receipt date: Nov 17, 2003 NHTSA campaign number: 03v455000 component(s): engine and engine cooling.
In refrence to > NHTSA campaign number: 03v455000 component(s): engine and engine cooling I nearly crashed when my car died while merging onto a freeway. My car doesnt start like it used to. Very rough starts, continuously to get the engine to turn. It will die while car is moving. This happens abruptly and suddenly while driving. Rpms idle higher than normal. Engine loss. I used obd scanner to decipher the problem. I looked for recall online and found the one located above. It is identical to my issues. I contacted Nissan and they refused. I could have died. Please help thank you!.

My husband & I purchased the 2007 Nissan Maxima for our daughter who is now expecting her first child. My husband borrowed her car to drive my sister husband and children back to atlanta airport mind you speed limit on i75 is 70mph, when this Maxima locked up and shut down in the middle of a 6 lane hwy. Thankfully he was able to coast across the hwy to the shoulder and the car smelled so my husband called my insurance CO. My sister ended up taking a taxi and we had to have the car towed 95 miles ($282. 00). Pye Nissan has the car in dalton and the service tech said the compressor locked up and blew all the belts due to me not having the compressor lubricated. The car warranty expired just a few months ago and Nissan said that there is nothing they can due and wants $1000. 00 to fix this. I have called another Nissan dealership and the service tech at this dealership said that he never heard of the compressor being lubricated and he has been with Nissan for 20 years. Where is justice when you purchase a $30,000. 00 car after 3 yrs a major part like this going, I just thank god it was my husband driving and not my pregnant daughter. I am very concerned about this car being unsafe now for not only my daughter but my unborn grandson. Signed chatsworth georgia.

I have had several problems with this car. . . This being the latest. Since buying this vehicle brand new I have had to have the entire dashboard replaced because it warped, the radio replaced, the chrome rails on top of the car replaced and now I took my vehicle in for service because I was hearing a "chirping" noise. I then got a call back and was told that the compressor had gone bad. But it gets better as right after that I was told that Nissan got a bad batch of compressors and they can't get a new one for me. But it still gets better. . . I was then told that if I don't replace the compressor (at a cost of over 1k) then it will fail and damage the belts, which will cause the power steering to fail as well as damaging the condenser. So I need a part that Nissan says is defective so they don't have anymore of them and are waiting on a new supplier, but in addition to that if I don't get this part it will cause additional damage to the car.

Took my car in for a oil change and after the oil change and the change of belts my car started making a noise when the heat or air was turned on. 2 months later when I turned on my air condition no air was coming through. Took it back to the Nissan dealership and they told me that my air pressure pump had a leak in it. I could not believe that with a 2007 car that I would have had this problem this soon!!! nothing was done to repair my car. I over heard the two service guys say that "OH ya, that's going to take a paycheck". Not knowing that I was still listening. I feel that they did not care about me or what was going on with my car all they wanted was for me to pay for the repairs. I told them that my husband was deployed and had two small children that had asthma and the heat would trigger their asthma and on this day it was already 78 degrees. I would never use this dealership again!!!! if I have to I will take my car to another Nissan dealership outside of savannah.

The vehicle died on July 11, 2005, while in traffic. She pulled the vehicle over and after 5 tries the vehicle finally started. The temperature gauge went all the way to hot, and the set light came on. The dealer stated that 7 service codes came up and they stated that the computer needed to be replaced. About 10 miles before this happened the vehicle surged, but no lights came on. It was a really hot day, she was going about 60 mph. The vehicle is currently at the service department for both issues.
My service engine comes on every week. I have to put it in the shop all the time and the steering keeps pulling to the right.
2004 Maxima has had timing chain noise for years has been blowing oil for 2 years now transmission is banging and shifting very hard losing power etc. For 3 months now had trans flushed did not help at all tires were defective in the first year a/c has not worked for 2 years this car is very much a lemon.
9/02 - within a 90 mile drive:tachometer, speedometer and temperature gauge shut off while I was driving at high speeds. Air bag light was also flashing. Then they would either turn back on by themselves or while I was standing still the speedometer would be stuck at 100mph. Further into the drive engine would shut off by itself losing brakes and power steering driving at speeds 0-40mph. First we repaced the battery then took it to Nissan where they found "internal failure dash circuit board" which was replaced along with the left side seat air bag harness. 1/03 - battery and brake lights came on. The car began sputtering and every other warning light was lit. Then the car would drive fine and did not shut off. The alternator was replaced this time. 7/6/03 - speedometer, tachometer and odometer shut off for entire 2 1/2 hour trip. Today 7/7 everything is fine (so far).
