Over heating gurgling in over flow, had radiator flushed and topped off, still over heat, looking at my recites it says I have a leaking water hose but no one replaced it, on 9/27/16. Drove my car threw winter then went to another machanic had the thermostat replaced on 6/30/17 still over heat, brought car back to Nissan dealer on 1/19/18 told them it still gurgels and there was a slight hesitation when driving and I noticed my power steering hose was leaking, was told I need a water pump and radiator, power steering said was fixed and visc valve was stuck open so replaced , said car is good to go so when my girl friend and I got in the car the check engine light was on he said it's probably because of the new parts he then took the light off said drive it 30 miles so I could have a smog done, drove south bound on hwy 101 in santa rosa going 60 mph and the car shut down and all lights where flashing, had no power to get in a safe place off the freeway, coasted down the off ramp to gas station and called Nissan, they said have it towed back, while waiting for tow I lifted my hood to find not only was my power steering still leeking but two other hoses were leeking as well. When I looked at my recite it said found that both power steering hoses were leeking as well as high pressure power line but only pressure hose was replaced, I asked why they all weren't replaced while showing them the leak they said we will order those hoses today and I don't have to pay, lol really? one day later the manager wanted to speak to me with the mechanic ,long story short now I need a alternator, battery, coil, spark plugs,so I go and buy the spark plugs and alternator another $ 321 and $245 to fix , it sits now at Nissan with more problems then ever, and it almost cost my friend and I my life on the freeway, I looked up recalls on my year and found there where some on it shutting down.

4 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2012 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 03/08/2014

While driving my 2012 Nissan Maxima, I was slowing to a stop at an intersection. The car unexpectedly stalled due to a problem with the power steering pump. I was luckily able to push the brakes and emergency brake to get the vehicle to stop. After stopping, I restarted the car, and was without power steering after that. I have read online that there are many other 2012 Nissan Maxima owners who have had similar problems, others reporting the loss of power steering at highway speeds, which could lead to serious crashes or worse. My car is outside of Nissan's factory warranty, but given the car is only 2 years old with 43k miles, it seems it is still far to new to be having a problem such as this. Based on the comments online, it would be in Nissan's and the public's best interest for Nissan to issue a recall on the power steering mechanisms.

5 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2012 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 02/06/2014

On 2/6/2014, when exiting highway, I loss power steering. Dropped car off at dealer on 2/7/14 and was told that power steering pump has to be replaced because it failed. Contacted dealer for an update on 2/12/14 and was told part was on backorder with no eta available. As of 2/16/2014, not sure when my car will be fixed.

6 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2012 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/30/2014

As I was exiting the freeway going to make a left turn onto an overpass, the steering became very hard to turn almost causing me to go straight ahead hitting the wall of the overpass. As I came to the next stoplight a few feet ahead to pull over into the gas station I could barelt tunr the corner. Fighting with the steering I manage to pull the car over and contacted my dealership where I purchased the car. Thhey sent a tow truck to pick up the car on 1/30/2014 and was diagnosed with a failed power steering pump. It is now 2/18/2014 and not only did I not get my car back from repair, their is not even an eta on when the part that is needed is going to be in stock. Dealership service department informed me that it looks like it is going to take approx a month to get the part in stock. I find this very unacceptable.

7 Power Steering Pump problem of the 2000 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/14/2013

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Recently the problems have been piling on. The air conditioner stopped working in the summer and the check engine light went on. The air conditioner needs a new pump and the "check engine" light I was told is the O2 sensor. Today is 1/27/13 and a week ago my power steering belt shredded. It caused the car to stall temporarily but I was able to drive the car to my local garage to be fixed. The mechanics said it was not only the power steering belt but the alternator belt and the pumps as well. The problem was taken care of and I picked the car up. Before I pulled out I tried the heat and defrost but they would not work now. The heat and defrost had been acting strange and smelled as if burning was happening. The heat would be hard to turn off at times. The different levels of heat were all the same most time. The mechanics looked at it later and said the car needs a O2 sensor and the whole climate control mechanism. The mechanism on my car had melted wires. I have been noticing a lot of weird electrical quirks outside of thee heat. I have noticed a lot of decay for a car used everyday. The problems that prompted me to look online about these issues are exactly the same issues people are having with this vehicle at the same mileage. O2 sensor, electrical, decay, etc. . Anyone who owns this vehicle should have been at least warned by the manufacturer. The problems this vehicle has and parts that should have been recalled or fixed can lead to people getting in fatal crashes. I wonder what the statistics for fatal crashes with these model years are compared to other?.
