Bought car brand new 9/2005. Car was serviced multiple times and even a Nissan engineer tested steering and suspension. When speed is at 60 mpr, steering wheel shakes. New tires were put on by dealership several times, also. Engineer stated that car was supposed to do that. Well now my car's transmission is acting up. Please note that steering wheel still shakes, too. I did a google search and see that numerous people are having the same issue. This car has to be a lemon. I will be contacting Nissan north America to file a complaint also and request that they repair my car.

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima se that I bought new in Jan 2007. Several months ago I replaced the oem tires because I was old they were worn out and were the cause of steering wheel vibration above 60mph. I replaced the tires and front brakes/rotors at my Nissan dealership and the vibration was reduced but still noticeable. It gets worse with cold temperatures. They have inspected the struts and engine mounts and say there is nothing wrong with my car but the vibration is still there.

Vibration in front end since new. Steering wheel vibrates at approx. 70 mph. Left at dealership five times, had tires rotated and balanced. I am picking it up tonight. They said the tires were not balanced correctly.
2004 and newer Nissan Maximas has a serious steering wheel vibration after 40mph. Nissan dealership says they are no complaints, but the internet if full of customers having this same problem. My car is 6years old but only has 34,000 miles. New tires, brakes, rotors, alignment multiply tire balances has not fixed this problem. On the internet customer have replaced struts, bearing,cv axles and problem still exist. This seems like a problem needs to be addressed.
While driving, the steering wheel vibrated heavily. It was hard to turn the wheel. The dealer exchanged the vehicle for another and the new vehicle has experienced the same problems. The vehicle would also pull.
At any speed, the steering wheel vibrated severely. The consumer stopped the vehicle and pulled off and the problem seemed to correct itself. The manufacturer and the dealer are aware of the problem.
