1 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2007

Nissan Murano 2003 service engine check lightcame on and vehicle slowed down on the freeway and I had to find a shoulder after an overpass bridge to pull over for my safe and for my 2 toodlers children. I check the recall on the internet for this and it was a recall back in 2003 that I did not recieve a notice in the mail. I call a car dealer and denying me for the recall. I call the consumer affair customer service and 7/2/2007 and case is pending. I feel so unsafe to drive this vehicle because since 2003 this vehicle has five recalls such as gas tank, set belt, engine and engine cooling, transmission nut not tighten enough and alternator.

2 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2007

I have a 2003 Nissan Murano with 47k miles. The belt tensioner bracket (also called idler pulley bracket) broke. When the bracket failed, it cut one of the coolant hoses and damaged the serpentine belt. This could have caused damage / failure to the engine. All service to my vehicle has been done by authorized Nissan dealers only. I believe the failure of this bracket was due to improper design / manufacture. . Read more...
