Failure Date: 08/25/2020

Whether I'm driving 70 mph on the interstate or 20 down the street the car will randomly shut off and come to a complete stop and make whining noise until it comes to a complete stop. I have to shut the car off and turn it back on.

2 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2006 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/24/2018

We first started having issues with the ignition coils and spark plug going bad, causing our car to stop and shake. Had them replaced and a month later the car started making an ungodly rattle noise. Almost like a loud fan type noise. It gets louder the more you drive it. The several different shops that looked at it. All said the same thing, the lifters needed to be replaced and fast. And said unfortunately it was just a matter of time. Before my axle and navigation system went out mid drive. And I should contact you because this was Nissan issue to fix. And that we need to get rid of this death trap. Before it killed me and our family.

3 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/15/2018

Well lets start with the engine stalling and not being able to get on the highway cause the engine lacks the power to even move. The right passenger side air bag light keeps flasing no matter what it does'nt go off. There is a rattling noise coming from the rear right side under the carriage. The left rear tire it lobsided and when it rains the rear of the car feels like its on ice and sways side to side it's an accident waiting to happen the tire sensor light never goes off even if you inflate to proper range and dont get me started on the transmission slipping hope that some one in your company does something about these issues before someone gets seriously hurt you may end up in court fix them before some one gets hurt. . . . All this in motion. Street and highway. Documentation yes the whole car is documentation.

4 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2006 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 05/28/2015

Upon starting cold engine a loud tapping or rattling sound heard coming from front of car. Sound increases when accelerating until reaching 40 to 45 mph - then it almost disappears. Once engine is warm sound is barely noticeable. It also takes a lot of strength to turn the steering wheel left, when backing out of the driveway into the street, or when turning left into a driveway or a parking space. It feels like there is no power steering. Slight left turns are normal as are all right turns. Vehicle is going into dealer Tuesday which is their first opening. I will update this once it is determined what is causing the problem /problems.

5 Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds problem of the 2003 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 02/03/2009

I bought my 2003 Murano in January of 2008. Every time I had an oil change done I was told that I had a very low amount. The low amount was never looked at as a problem. When I was getting a recall completed I was telling the service department employee about my low oil level when I took my car every 3,000 miles. He asked if I had any oil leaks that were left on the ground when I moved my car. I let him know that I have never seen oil on the ground. I also let him know that I hear a rattling noise sometimes when accelerating from a stopped position and sometimes my car gets stuck when I try to accelerate and then after a few seconds it will zoom forward. I have almost rear ended around 6 cars. I try to let cars get a little ways in front of me if it gets stuck so I do not rear end the car in front of me. I should not have to do this. He said that the recall of the alternator would fix the issues with the car getting stuck and they would check the engine. I still have this problem today with the car getting stuck. I had an oil consumption test done every 1,000 miles and by time I made it to the 2,000 miles my oil level was low. So they never did a third oil consumption test like they said they would. Then I was told that they would need to replace the entire engine. I have seen many complaints about the same issue. I feel that the engines that were placed in the 2003 Nissan Muranos were defective and should be recalled because this could cause an accident and I have a 14 month old son in my car with me 90% of the time. Therefore not only is my life and others in cars around me in jeopardy so is my son's life. This defect should be looked into immediately because I am sure there are many other people have this same issue. There is one other issue I had where I had unlocked my doors and put my child in the car. When I went to get in the car had locked on it's own. Luckily we were at the house and had a spare key. I have learned that this issue common.
