This car is filling with water. Apparently hundreds of people have reported this in all different model years. The car has a moonroof and the drains are not installed correctly. There is water in spare tire well and running into dash as well as into break lights. Nissan should be fixing this for everyone. The cars should be recalled. I hate to think this will require a class action.

On several occasions now I have gone to exit the car from the drivers side and it just didn’t open. It behaved as though a child lock engaged and it would only open after manually flipping lock repeatedly. Was scary to feel trapped in car.
Rear subframe corrosion and break. Front subframe perfectly ok, obviously under the exact same driving conditions. There was a recall for this exact same problem on the Nissan Murano 2007 models but unfortunately no recall on the 2011 model.

Car began shaking on acceleration and low speeds and wouldn't stop shaking until approx 40mph or above. Upon braking to take a right hand turn car died, just stopped accelerating even though all lights on and running. No response at all when pushing pedal to the floor. Would go in reverse but only very low speed. Replaced alternator. Seemed ok but 4 months later same exact problem happened and car is not drivable again.

I had noticed that my car would sway when driving around a curve or when switching lanes and was going to take it to the shop to be checked out, but my back passenger tire went flat on my way home from work which was odd because they were brand new tires. When I went to change the tire I noticed that the inside of the tire was completely worn and wires were sticking out. I drove home at 35-40mph because the sway was even worse with the spare tire. I had a mechanic come to my home to check the car out because I was afraid to drive it any further. When he jacked the car up to see what was going on, upon inspection he noticed the sway bar had come loose on the passenger and driver side of the car and that the sub frame on the driver side of the car was completely rusted through. The mechanic was able to reattach the sway bar, but advised not to drive it until the sub frame could be fixed. I contacted a certified welder and had my car towed to the welder to have the frame welded back together. The certified welder was only able to partially weld the frame and stated that the car would need the frame replaced because it was too rusted out to properly fix and that it was not safe to drive. Now I’m without a vehicle even though the car is in great running condition because the frame is unable to be fixed and the cost to buy a new frame and have the work done is more than the car kbb values the car for. I don’t know why this issue hasn’t been recalled and fixed. I could have crashed and died and my children left without a mother. It’s sad to see so many complaints and nothing done about it.

I was driving my vehicle on the freeway at a speed of 60 mph when all of a sudden the sun roof part of my panoramic roof shattered all over my interior of my car and myself. It blew up all over me and was quite disturbing let alone could of caused an accident or glass could of cut my eyes. I was quite shaken up. I contacted my insurance and working a claim to have it replaced. Then I find out this has been common in Nissan vehicles for a long time and law suits because of it, too. These sunroofs allegedly exploded because of their design. Instead of laminating the glass in the sunroofs, the lawsuits claimed, Nissan used thin pieces of tempered glass instead of thicker pieces. The reason why Nissan allegedly did this, according to the suits, is so that the sunroof could be lighter and, thus, the vehicle could get better fuel economy. The lawsuits also alleged the japanese automaker applied ceramic enamel around the edges of the sunroofs, weakening the strength of the glass. I also sent an email to Nissan but doubt if I will hear from them. What is being done by the safety commission in regard to this matter so this doesn't happen to other customers of these vehicles?.

2 months ago I bought vehicle for $4300 and found out 3 weeks ago that the frame is broken. The car is very squirrely on wet roads- no wonder? it's very dangerous and it's going to cost more than the car is worth to fix it.
The hood of my car flew open while driving.
At running time the car stop like if transmission disconected.

I was driving in snowstorm could barely move …. Murano was swaying …. Stopped waited for snow to stop…. Didn’t drive for the rest of winter …. In spring tried to drive noticed tires were worn out only on inside in the rear …. Replaced them went get rear wheel alignment…. Mechanic said sway bar rusted off of sun frame …. Sun frame is completely rotted out …. Very dangerous going to check at thousands to fix …. I noticed that this has happened to a lot of people with this year Murano …. I don’t drive often but it only has 86000 miles on it…. People were complaining online …. Why hasn’t this been forced to be recalled? do people have to die first?.
Cvt issues.

Tire pressure monitoring system is not working although the air pressure is kept as requested. The light is always on which makes identification of loss of air pressure difficult to dictate, and can cause loss of vehicle control and serious damage in highways.

Is the pearl white paint peeling off the car all over I cannot drive it in the rain. The paint falls off. I cannot wash it but paint peels off the car only has 42,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new it started in July I have went to several dealerships and consumer affairs, and no one seems to help me. It is all over the internet. This is not due to any warranty. This is a product before it was built. The paint is no good the car is worthless the way it looks I’ve taken very good care of this car. It’s been stored in a garage. I’m the one drives it. There’s nothing else wrong with the car except the paint is coming off when I go down the highway.

I've only had the car 3 months and an error code for the forward collision worning light is on. The dealership said it should go off. It never did. It is malfunctioning and it automatically and without notice applied the emergency brake system when it's not needed. It gave me sort of whiplash. It does this often out of no where. This could cause a severe accident.
Transmission failure. Car has been losing power, slowly getting worse with episodes of near stalling when stepping on gas from a stop. No engine warning lights . When pulling out in heavy traffic, car would nearly stall. Scary and dangerous. I finally took car to Nissan dealer where I purchased the car and they immediately diagnosed transmission failure. At that point, I had 143,209 miles after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment.
Rear sub-frame broke by rear stabilizer and caused the tire’s to turn in on top, bad design from a rich company makes Nissans throw away and will kill someone . Cheap design and will stay away from Nissans in future.
The cvt unit shutters, lurches, and slips out of gear ratios when acceleration. There is violent jerking when pondering at low speeds and it even causes the engine to stall when coming to a halt in drive mode. Nissan knows the problem and others have served Nissan with a class action lawsuit to remediate the issue with the cvt unit. The check engine warning light illuminates when the issue arises. Nissan has not submitted a recall request.
This car I purchased two months ago has the cvt transmission in it and has proven unsafe for regular traffic let alone highway driving. It randomly “lurches” , has a loss of power and hesitates when accelerating or lane changing .

The sunshade has dropped down into the car. There was no warning and appears to be a common problem with Nissan. There was a recall for this same issue on a different model. It was looked at at the dealership and the repair is outrageous and a common problem with the Murano.
Car is a safety hazard from October 2022 to current. I have had this car at the beau townsend Nissan dealership service center, vandalia, OH multiple times, about the safety issue of the car slowing down with floor acceleration then shutting off on 4 lane highways just barely escaping severe accidents. Each time dealership isn’t able to fix issue, had me spend $800 to fix what they thought it was, reset codes which has not fixed the safety issue. Latest issue occurred 4/27/23 traveling on 3 lane highway in middle lane 3 hours from my home at 70 mph speed limit. Car abruptly started slowing down without cause, and almost created a bad accident. Luckily, I was able to get the car to the right narrow shoulder strip before it shut off, police came to assist with keeping me safe in my vehicle until I could have the vehicle towed 3 hours back to beau townsend Nissan for more diagnostics. I opened a case with Nissan consumer affairs prior to this last safety incident and to date nothing has been done. I have multiple documentation with the dealership about my car being a safety risks to me (senior citizen) and others on the road. The only people to date that seem to understand the safety severity this involves are the highway police and towing services who have provided me safety every time the car shuts down abruptly while traveling. I’m reaching out to you in hope that this concern can be addressed before you learn about me and possibly others in a fatality situation. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide in this matter. Yes, I’m available for inspection of the safety concern specific to my vehicle.
While trying to make a turn in a busy intersection, the car stall and loses power it goes into a limp mode. The car slowly limps out of traffic to the side. Note vdc off and 2 red - neg sign brake light is on. Turn the ignition off for a few minutes. Turn ignition back on and no problem. The car starts up no problem. I had the brakes check out and no issues. I took to Nissan dealership . They said it is the alternator. I had new alternator put in 6 months ago. Took back to the company who put the alternator on he said it is working. They said this car notorious for the cvt transmission issues. This problem has happen twice in traffic. This is not safe. . . . I am afraid to drive this car.
The rear subframe has been rotting for some time before being discovered. The driver side sway bar link in the rear has broken. Joint points are ready to break as well. Tires leaning inwards.

Sunroof exploded while driving down the highway. There was a loud explosion sound. Nothing struck the vehicle. I wasn't sure what had caused the sound, but when I pulled off the road, I noticed that sunroof was shattered and had exploded.
My dashboard is melting. When sitting in the sun it becomes sticky. An offensive odor is emitted also. The dashboard becomes shiny, making it at times hard to see from the reflection from the shine hitting the windshield when driving. Nissan is aware of this problem as they fixed melting dashboards in florida only.
The sunroof/moonroof drain tubes stop up and leak down the interior door frame and also into the floorboard of the car regularly. I have been in contact with Nissan regional and they tell me its a maintenance problem. I read through the owners manual multiple times and nowhere does it mention sunroof drain tubes or anything related to sunroof drains. It does not mention it in the maintenance portion of the book or anywhere else. The issue with it leaking into the car is mold. This is a design flaw by Nissan, and unless a Nissan dealership submits it to Nissanusa as a design flaw, nothing can be done. Obviously a dealership will not submit it because they can make $159 each time a customer comes in to have those lines unclogged. Never buy a Nissan with a sunroof!!!!!! mine has leaked into my car four times since 2021. It has flooded and molded my entire interior.
Sunroof shattered while driving with no warning. Very dangerous for passengers and vehicles behind vehicle as the glass broke into countless pieces.
Sunroof suddenly exploded putting us at risk while driving on the interstate. We heard a loud explosion before the sunroof shattered into pieces. There are open class action lawsuits about this problem. There was no warning that this was a problem before this happened.
After opening my hood to check the engine oil, the main hood latch would not engage, to keep the hood down, the only thing holding the hood is secondary latch. I was over at my uncle's house when this happened and could not take the freeway home fearing that the hood might pop up while driving at a higher speed than on the city streets. When I got home, I got on my computer, and found that Nissan has a recall on other models for defective latches for the same year as my 2016 Nissan Murano. I plan on taking it to the Nissan dealership to get it fixed this weekend.

Driver sunroof exploded while driving. Nothing impacted the glass to my knowledge. Occurred on 1/21/23, 54xxx miles on the vehicle, no previous accidents. Gloomy day approx 30f, heat on and drivers window opened about an inch. No injuries.
Moon roof exploded showing glass down into the head liner. Had the roof panel been open it would have showered down into the cabin potentially causing injury or distracting me and causing a potential accident. The moon roof was closed at the time of occurrence and there were no large vehicles in front of me at the time that could have sent a road hazard toward my car, the shattering of the glass was load enough that for a moment I thought a tire had blown before realizing it was the roof.

My driver's side sun visor is stuck in the downward position, which is constantly obstructing my view and is a safety hazard to myself as well as others around me. I raised this issue to my dealer and was told that although this is a common problem with my specific vehicle make and model there currently are no recalls on this. I was told that a plastic clip within the visor is known to break after normal wear and tear causing the visor to not function properly. If this is a known issue, it should be a recall before there are any injuries as a result of obstructed vision.
My wife was victim to a hit and run driver on 30 Dec 22. Our 2022 Nissan Murano's automatic collision notification system failed to activate upon collision. There were no warnings in the car prior. Additionally, the secondary system known as the "sos button" which my wife manually activated repeatedly for 15 minutes failed. She called 911 and after 45 minutes a trooper finally arrived to help her. Unbelievably, this manufacturer advised us to "routinely test" the system to ensure it is active!!! no explanation how (we press the sos button each time we start the vehicle now, and feel afraid to drive it, (but we have no other option). Nissan has not reached out to us until recently to express their denial of the system failure (this system failure has already been verified by two separate Nissan agents where three separate reported failures occurred that same day prior to the accident). We were not notified. Our request to fred anderson Nissan and the manufacturer for a "buy back" were denied. I'm a 100% disabled veteran (retiree) and my wife is also a disabled veteran (retiree). One year ago we put our entire life savings of $22,000. 00 down-payment on the Murano,as it offered the most safety features available, specifically the automatic collision notification system, which is to notify a specially trained agent to initiate emergency services. This system is a major priority for us. The dealership's only response is to trade the vehicle in (lose our $22,000. 00 in the process) and purchase another Nissan with the same system in place. Our new vehicle has depreciated almost 40% in less than one year. We're being forced by the manufacturer to either keep this car with documented safety failures, or sacrifice our life savings and begin anew with another 6 year payment, with zero equity. We have just begun to travel in this "perfect vehicle", after serving a combined 60 years of service to our country. Our financial future is at stake, and we did nothing to cause this.

On multiple occasions the engine has cut off. Once a few seconds after starting the engine cut out. Another time while waiting in a turn lane to turn left the engine cut out. Another time while driving in the center lane the engine cut off and additional times. It has cut while in park, it has cut off while in drive. This is very unsafe especially when driving and there are other drivers. There is no warning it is going to happen. This is my teen's designated vehicle and we have another teen who will be driving this car soon. We took the car back to the dealer just a few days after purchasing to have it checked out. They kept it for several days but couldn't find any issue. We picked up the the car back but after a few weeks the engine cut out twice and we took it back in. This time, there also happens to be a small oil leak. They said something about replacing the bank2/banking cellunoid and it might be a timing issue.
To whom this may concern ,y husband owns a Nissan Murano 2007 awd. He uses this car as his daily as he has to travel for work from shirley NY to garden city NY 5-6 times a week . On Dec 10th as he was leaving home to go to work he got on the main road and his car lost control . Thank god there was no one around him and everyone was alert because his car almost caused a fatal accident . My father was able to tow it back home and I started calling mechanic shops to see who would be able to check his car and fix it ASAP . I finally get in touch with a mechanic and my father takes it to his shop the mechanic looked at the car and told us that his whole k frame was rusted and came off completely . He said “ this is a common issue with Nissan Murano 2007 , I worked at Nissan dealership and we would see this all the time and it’s very dangerous you cannot drive this car” my question is if this is such a common issue . Why isn’t this recalled? why are these car still out on the road? we have to spend insane amount of money that we don’t have to fix this issue because we can’t afford to buy a brand new car but no only that my husband could’ve almost lost his life and hurt other ones because of this issue . This seriously needs to be fixed . After doing my research I see many people complained about this not only a while back but recently and still nothing has been done . Our car is still in the shop and we have no idea when we’ll get it back due to the cost of these parts . Please do something about this .
While driving the vehicle will suddenly stop moving, loses acceleration ability & all the dashboard lights turn on. I had work done back in Feb 22 replacing cam shaft sensors. Now Dec 22 the same thing began happening again.
