Intake boot separates from the intake manifold and the engine stalls. This can and has happened to me at freeway speeds. Total loss of power and control. Mechanic has worked on it repeatedly and it keeps coming off. At best it will stay in place for a couple months before it comes off again with no warning. Told my car is not covered by recall but have exact same problem described in recall.

I purchased a 2012 Nissan Murano new, my vehicle has less than 22000 mileas on it, no services lights have ever come on to indicate that any service was needed to be peformed on the vehicle. I had an oil services done, however in one of my oil services done recently something occurred incorectly and my vehicle starting blowing smoke from the mufflers, again no warning lights ever came on to indicate a problem or maintaince was required. I took it in to the deaslership service center and I was told that the engine had major problems, they told me that for the engine to be as damage as it is warning lights should have come on. They also said that they have seen a few more vehicles with simialar problems and the warnings never apperaed on those vechiles as well.

Exhaust manifold is cracked. Exhaust gases leak in through vent when ac is on and air is coming from outside. Extreme health hazard! up to two engine mounts are broken. Oil leaks from boot. Drivers seat bracket is broken. Electrical on the drivers seat fried.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a repair shop for an inspection when she was informed that the bolts that held the muffler in place were rusted. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer for a diagnosis. The dealer stated that the bolt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that her vehicle made a cranking noise and exhaust fumes exited the tailpipe. The Nissan dealer diagnosed the failure as "engine sludge". Before taking the vehicle to Nissan, a mechanic advised her to take it to a dealer because the engine was still under warranty.
