The visor will not stay up. It is dangerous because I am 6'1"and my son is 6'9" and we can't see out of the window when we drive. This is supposedly a common thing with this car. It costs like $300. To fix. It is a safety issue and nissa knows about it and should have to fix it without charge.

Left visor keeps falling down causing restricted view. At first I thought I was the only one that had this complaint, but reading the bulletin boards it is a common problem. I feel this is a safety hazard which Nissan refuses to take responsibility for. I know two other owners that have encountered the same problem. One of the removed the visor because it was too expensive to fix. Could you please look into this. The interior is not listed on your choices so I picked body. Thank you so much.

Cpsc#i1320244a. Consumer stated that the driver side visor will not stay up and blocks her view while driving.
This is the second time the driver's side visor has suddenly broken and come down to block my view in the middle of driving. I replaced the original for the same problem 3 years ago. Seems the issue was not actually fixed. It now falls down regularly and suddenly blocks my view. I'm told its $400 to fix it again. Why hasn't it been recalled? there is obviously a dangerous problem with these visors.

Sun visor randomly drops down from headliner obstructing driver's view. Nissan will not repair the problem at no cost if the vehicle is out of warranty. This is a safety issue and Nissan should repair this defect regardless of year or mileage. This is an expensive service at the dealerships, preventing certain owners from having the visor properly replaced/repaired . Very dangerous.

At speeds from 15 mph and up to highway speeds driver sun visor is dropping down on minor bumps on the road covering driver visibilty.
The driver's side power seat somehow broke under normal wear and tear. The seat leans to the left side and wobbles to the front and back. Therefore having to accelerate, decelerate, turn corners and go over rough road causes the seat to move all over the place. I believe this causes a safety issue while trying to drive. This is a Nissan design flaw that should be on a recall notice and corrected by Nissan free of charge to the consumer. There are numerous complaints regarding this seat and for many, the dealership wants to charge some outrageous price to get the problem corrected. Another issue is the driver's side visor which flops down unexpectedly while driving for no apparent reason. When returned to it's normal place, it will fall down. This causes another safety issue while trying to drive. The visibility is compromised and an accident could very well occur. Please address these design flaws for recalls.
The sun visor on the driver side will not stay up and falls into the line of sight while driving.
Drivers side visor failed to stay in the up position resulting in poor visibility.
The passenger side visor swings down, does not stay in pace and obstructs the drivers view of the road.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the driver side sun visor would repeatedly fall from its housing, obscuring the contact’s vision of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the visor under warranty. The failure recurred approximately eight months later. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 06/05/12 updated 06/07/12.
Sun visor driver side failed to stay up and suddenly falls. The dealer quotes $300 part + 150 labor just to replace and did not guarantee it won't failed again. Of course is not covered by Nissan. How many other brands beside Nissan have you seen with this problem? I am simply appalled by the lack of concern from Nissan. After reading complaints about seat collapsing, wheel bearing going out, visors falling blocking the view of the driver, steering hoses braking causing fire, in vehicles with low mileage I cannot believe Nissan does not identify this as a safety issues and allows the consumer to pay for these faulty components. The fact that Nissan does not stand up behind their products is an insult to everyone who bought this product. Nissan offers no assistance despite the clear premature failure of the components. This is my first and last Nissan vehicle.
Drivers side sun visor has lost ability to stay in upright position. Will drop down unexpectedly causing a safety issue and cannot be left in any position but fully down.
Drver side sun visor drops suddenly while driving obstructing view. It drops again every time I hit a bump in the road.
The driver side sun visor began flipping down on its own. It is a major safety hazard, as it can fall and obstruct vision temporarily. I have been reading that others have the same complaint on the Murano.
Our Nissan Murano has a driver side sun visor that fails to remain up while driving. It will continually fall down without warning, this is not only a surprise, it blocks our view suddenly. Nissan refuses to replace it even with our extended warranty. We know it is a serious safety issue, we have removed it from the vehicle.
Sun visor drops while driving covering vision of traffic signals.
The visor on the driver's side constantly falls down prohibiting the driver from seeing the road. It will not stay up for an extended period of time. Multiple people with the same make and model vehicle have reported having this problem to me as well.
Visor keeps falling down while driving. I almost got into a car accident couple times because visor fell down and blocked my view. I think Nissan should recall this problem. I research this problem online and hundreds of people got the same problem. It's a very serious problem and should't be ignored.
Drivers side visor began swinging down and blocking vision intermittently during high speed travel and bumpy conditions. The visor has continued to degrade and swings down under almost any movement. I had a quote from a mechanic to replace this item, but the cost seems excessive. The visor is currenly held in place with duct tape/ velcro, but the home fix is not effective or long lasting.
This vehicle is only four years old with only 84000 miles, while driving I heard a loud sound coming from under the vehicle. I took the vehicle in to five towns Nissan they told me that I have a big problem, my transfer case is not good. The transfer case, seal-oil and seal- oil ring would be $2750. 82. Labor and tax would be bring it to $4074. 33. Now we all know owners of this very cute vehicle that it has a factory defect and we need more people like myself to come forth so the would have no choice but to recall these vehicles.
While driving at approx. 45 miles per hours the sun driver's side sun visor suddenly lowered from the "up" position, completely blocking my view of the road in front of me. This problem persisted intermittently then the visor would not stay in the "up" position at all. I had to remove the visor in order to see, but I am then blinded by the sun at times creating an equally dangerous situation. I have read several online forums and this is an ongoing issue that needs to be fixed. There is no fix for the visor, just a forced replacement at $300. 00.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the sunvisor holder had a defected spring and would continuously fall and block the contact's view of the roadway while driving. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or repaired. The failure mileage was 158,000 and the current mileage was 159,005.
Driver side sun visor failed. Will not retract and stay up.
The driver's side sun visor falls, blocking view. I push it back up and the next crack in the road makes it fall again. Nissan dealer wants over $200 to replace. It does not matter what the speed is. A crack or bump in the road makes it fall.
This is a 2007 Murano purchased new in 2008. On September 12, while driving at low speed (25 mph) the driver side visor lost its grip and fell to a hanging position. This is a hazard as it impairs visibility. I have researched the Nissan forums and found out this is a very common problem with Muranos dating back to 2004. However, despite thousands of complaints, I have not seen that a recall had been issued. It is very disturbing that the part/repair is really expensive.
Driving appx. 30mph on open asphalt road, no cars ahead of me, no cars behind me when heard loud explosion, similar to shot gun blast. When located trouble found the moon roof had exploded. Appeared to be an upward explosion. Car taken to Nissan dealer for repairs. Damage was not caused from any flying objects. Has to be a defect.

Electronic door lock on the driver side would sporadically unlock or lock door. . . Now is all the time and must be locked manually. This is a safety hazard when trying enter the vehicle in an un secure environment or can result in stolen merchandise or parts left in the vehicle. Driver side sun visor also well not stay in upright position and drops suddenly blocking the view of the driver.
The sun visors constantly will not stay up. This happened first on the passengers side and now on the drives side. This is a safety issue! these sun visors falling down can block your vision while you are driving. This is going to cost almost $600. 00 to fix at the dealership! this is ridiculous and should be a recall on Nissan's part, not charge some outrageous price to fix. I am completely appalled at this.
The driver side sun visor on my 2005 Nissan Murano will not stay in the "up" position. It can rotate to verical at any time, blocking the driver's vision and distracting the driver's attention. Replacement visors are $300 and up. Nissan is in complete denial that this chronic problem exists.
This complaint regards the sunvisors on the driver's side of a 2006 Nissan Murano. The current sunvisor fails to stay up (parallel with vehicle roof) or canted. It falls constantly, obstructing the view of the roadway for drivers. Additionally, the configuration of the visor is such that it is likely to fall when driver's need their vision the most-- upon hitting uneven or rocky pavement, striking debris in the road, or making necessary evasive maneuvers to avoid an accident. This problem appears to be widespread with Nissan Muranos, as several forums discussing the issue are visible on the internet. One such forum is Nissanmurano. Org. The site lists approximately eleven pages of car owners and other individuals discussing the same problem. The current remedy suggested by Nissan is a $500 replacement visor, which is not covered by extended warranty. This figure seems unreasonable for the severity of the problem, its widespread occurrence, and the potential consequences of having an internal vehicle accessory fall over the eyes of the driver at any moment.
