Cvt transmission issues. Juddering, lost sprrd downshift jerks. Going 70 on highway it lost speed jerked me around like I am getting hit. Couldn't even go up ramp on highway. Its hard to believe that NHTSA dose not have a ban on these vehicals. There are many complaints and Nissan letters within Nissan that have been issued out to dealships ect. No to mention the law suits. Nhtsa would be the first I would think to post and force these off of the road. Insted people like me are just forced to junk them and write them off. Or spend your life savings on trans replacement.

Follow up to my prior complaint (NHTSA id number: 11568968). Sandy sansing Nissan in pensacola, florida replaced the fuel pump and the front forward detection sensor. We also had to have the middle row, middle seatbelt replaced due the sensor not working. We have had the vehicle back for a week and the problems have continued, if not gotten worse. The vehicle has stalled out multiple times, 3 days in a row, nearly causing my wife and children to be rear-ended by a semi truck on 2 occasions. The issue is the vehicle gets to about 27 mph, revs up to 6k rpms, stops moving forward and begins to slow down (at 6k rpms), warning lights like the oil light kick on along with several other lights, and the vehicle stalls, forcing the driver to glide off the roadway. My wife took a photo of the dash as she was gliding off the road and it shows the vehicle still in d (drive) at 0 mph and 1k rpms, whatever that means since the car was still rolling. Once off the road, she has to turn the car off to get it to reset so she can move forward. She stated that at least 2 times, the car restarts with the shifter still in d. On one occasion, she could not get the car to restart for several minutes. Nissan, of course, says they haven't gotten any complaints and no error codes. My wife also states the info center and radio always fail right before the vehicle starts stalling. I going to have to have the car towed to Nissan due to us living over a hour from the dealership and the car not being safe to drive.

The display control unit (dcu) went blank on my 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. No working display causing steering wheel controls not to work. This includes being unable to use any hands-free phone calls. This is a significant safety issue. Nissan has a voluntary recall for this problem on the 2018 and 2019 Pathfinder, but for whatever reason my VIN is not included. Multiple attempts to have Nissan fix and they refuse. I can’t tell you how unsafe it makes traveling with no working display and no hands-free phone capabilities. Requesting your assistance to require Nissan to recall this problem on the 2018 Pathfinder.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving 3 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle stalled. An advanced auto mechanic determined that the battery was drained. The mechanic replaced the battery. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a u-turn, the vehicle went into limp mode. The contact was able to pull into a nearby aaa parking lot, where the vehicle was jumpstarted. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving and turning. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot, where the vehicle was jumpstarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with cvt judder. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under TSB number: ntb17-039n. The failure mileage was unknown.

Car started to shutter, doing 55 mph and stop pulling. . All lights were flashing then shut down, was able to coast into some business parking lot. Had to get towed to shop where was told needed alternator, replaced that and replaced battery…car would start but put in gear and same thing happened shut down and didn’t get but a couple of miles from shop. . Still no fix. Contacted a Nissan dealership was told maybe transmission. Told no recalls, which it should be.

My car powers off as I am driving it. The brakes work but nothing else. The dials go crazy and all the warning lights on my car turn on with all the other lights remaining off. I’m not sure what component stopped working when it shuts off but I would be okay with it being inspected. My safety was put at risk because I could no longer drive the car and the gas pedal doesn’t work so I don’t gain any speed leaving me stranded on the street having to pull over which could lead to an accident. The problem has been confirmed by an independent service dealer. The first sign I know the problem is gonna happen when driving is when I turn on the car and the emergency brake light turns on and the battery light.

I was at a stop sign the auto start stop was on. The car stopped engine off while at the stop sign. I heard a chime ive never heard before, pressed gas pedal and didnt move. Realized the car was off and now was in neutral. It took me a couple minutes to get the car back on and continue on my way. This a brand new car at the time had approx 1025 miles on it. I have now made an appt at the dealership to trouble shoot the issue.

Complete shutdown of the vehicle while driving down the road. Caused me to go into a ditch. The vehicles lights flashed and then it just shut off. Had the alternator replaced twice also the battery replaced twice and now the Nissan dealership has said they don't know what's wrong with it.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that various electrical sensors alerted that there were objects nearby; however, there were no objects nearby. Due to the failure, the cruise control feature was inoperable. The contact also stated that the back over prevention camera screen intermittently displayed a blank image while the vehicle was shifted to reverse(r). The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.

The relay in the drivers seat melted and the wires shorted out. This caused issues with my radio, clock, brakes, and power issues when accelerating. They replaced the relay which cost me $1200 and suddenly all of my systems work correctly. I was told the short was causing feedback into the electrical systems of the car by the service department. The dealer further confirmed there is an advisory on this issue and it has been noted several times. They stated the issue is ongoing but there is no recall.

Issue with 360 around view monitor. Picture quality for the 4 cameras at night is very poor. Backing up at night is quite challenging as the picture from the cameras are very fuzzy. If something comes from behind like an animal or a child, it is very difficult to see them. The whole purpose of the backup cameras is to increase safety when backing up. Unfortunately I’ve address this issue with two Nissan dealers and was told that this is normal as designed feature. I had several Nissans before and the picture quality was fantastic, until the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. I hope that someone will start the investigation and address this safety issue.

Ac auto amp failed and no cold or hot air is coming out of the vents. Nissan has identified the problem in may 2024 and as of September 2024 they still have not sourced a part that can be used to repair the issue. Safety was put at risk in two ways. First the windshield defroster and defogger do not work. When fog begins to appear on the windshield it affects visibility and has to be wiped off manually while driving. In summer months the temperature of the cabin is excessively hot which can be unsafe over long drives. Nissan has provided no eta for being able to fix this and the cold northeast winter months are coming where it will get dangerously cold. This can be unsafe over long drives in sub freezing temps.

When attempting to put my vehicle in park by pressing the park button on the gear shift, a large red alert popped up on the dash that said "when parked, use emergency brake", and instead of shifting into park, shifted into neutral, where the car then rolled until I applied pressure on the brake. At this time, the car nearly rolled over my young child as it was not expected for the vehicle to roll after being put into park. There were no warning lights or messages prior to this occurring. It was then found that there has been a service bulletin out regarding a shifter issue with this model vehicle. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership where I paid $230 for diagnostics, where they confirmed that the issue was directly related to the service bulletin, but that they would not repair the vehicle as my car was out of warranty, even though it is only two years old. They suggested I reach out to Nissan north America consumer affairs to request payment outside of a manufacturer warranty, where they opened a case, and ultimately denied any assistance in repairing the defect that has been found to be known about for nearly a decade, yet they keep making vehicles with the same defective issue.

While driving and going down the highway my vehicles hud and all electronics inside the vehicle will just randomly kick out momentarily for not no more the 30seconds, but the head lights stay one and the car still runs. It kicks the cruise control off and this just started happening.

Refrigerant leak.

When we purchased this vehicle in June 2023, one of the first things I noticed, was an unusual switch on the steering wheel to allow, selecting and viewing all of the vehicle display information. This switch is located on the left side of the steering wheel. It is labeled ok meaning ok to display the selected menu item when you depress the ok button. The switch consists of a thumb wheel to go up or down on the menu selection, and then you depress the thumb wheel to engage the item selected. We’ve had the vehicle nine months and we were driving and my wife attempted to select something by rotating the thumb wheel and pushing ok button. The ok button got stuck in the down position disabling the ok button and preventing her from changing anything on the vehicle info screen. We consider being unable to access vehicle information a safety issue. The switch was promptly replaced by Nissan under warranty. I am an electronics person and I consider this particular style switch too delicate for long term use, a bad design and one that will probably continue to fail. The issue with this switch is the “thumb wheel selector” for menu items instead of an up or down button like on our other three vehicles that do the same functions on those vehicles. Nissan made a very bad choice on using this type of switch.

The engine in this vehicle has shut off two times while we were driving it. We were forced to make emergency exits off of the roadway in order to prevent injury to ourselves and others. This is a life-threatening situation when the vehicle loses engine power while it is being driven. Additionally, we have experienced multiple instances of the vehicle not starting after it had been parked. We have researched this on the internet and have found that other Nissan owners are experiencing this same issue. When the vehicle stops running while driving or when it will not start after being parked, we get these symptoms: everything lit up on the dash tpms light, I-key error, no speedometer, no tachometer the engine cooling fan is running vehicle will not start back up when you push the start button the dash lights come back on the cooling fan would kick on engine will not start.

Through a check engine light for camshaft position sensor bank 1 so I replaced both of them well that cleared the check engine light for a min and was running good the after five min of running it started rough idling cutting off and throwing a check engine light for p0340 again I sent it to the Nissan dealer shop they said it didn’t have no check light they tested the sensors and said there good and don’t know what it could be.

While driving the car it randomly turns off and turns back on it also jerks initially. All lights on the dashboard turn off and back on, speakers make a loud boom sound! have experienced the car not starting. Bought a new battery thinking that was the issue, it wasn't.

As a result of service on this vehicle that was provided by Nissan of mckinney in mckinney, texas the vehicle was intentionally returned to the owner after servicing in an unsafe condition. The service included removal of a trailer hitch receiver and electrical harness that had been installed earlier. After the service and the electrical harness removal, the vehicle was left with exposed electrical conductors underneath the rear bumper that are exposed to the external contaminated road environment. This results in a potential for electrical fire, electrical harness damage, and possible explosion with the exposed electrical conductors so near the fuel tank. The problem has been reported to Nissan of mckinney several times, who, while they acknowledge having received the communications, have not commented on the condition in which they left the vehicle, and will not state if this is a safety issue.

I found my new 2023 Pathfinder at kraft Nissan in tallahassee, FL but since I live in GA I wanted to avoid paying taxes to transfer to GA. I contacted woody folsom dealership in vidalia, GA who contacted kraft and did a dealership trade. Woody folsom dealership sales rep delivered to my home on 9/27/23. On the same day as delivery, I drove the car to for about 30 mins and stopped at a red light. The auto stop feature was on - my car went from drive to neutral then off! I could not restart the car. I was in traffic with other vehicles who were blowing their horns at me. I did put on my flashers. I waited several minutes after attempting to start the car when it finally started again. The car went back to vidalia to be serviced and I was told it was fixed and a battery had to be replaced. Again, this same scenario occurred multiple other times. 12/13/23 I was pulling out of zaxby's and my car stalled on me, the turning lane for the cars on the opposite of rode was available so I pulled into it with my flashers as my car completely turned off. I had difficulty again starting the car back up. After several minutes of being turned off I was able to start it again. ** other issues 1/25/24 I was idling at a red light and car went from d to neutral then completely shut off. 2/8/24 I was idling in a parking lot waiting on a friend. A light on the dashboard came on indicating the car would be shutting down as to save battery. The car turned off. When I went to start the car again, it would not properly start. It sputtered. I gave it gas and no change. I put car in reverse and tried to go forward which it continued to sputter then turned off. I attempted to start the car but it would not. After letting the car stay off for several minutes it finally started. 2/10/24 after driving the car for about 30 mins with no issues then shutting off - I tried to start car again and it started the sputtering again. Same deal - let it sit then try again with it starting.

While traveling to California my battery in my 2023 Nissan Pathfinder was faulty and I had to be towed to albuquerque, nm from gallup, nm for it to be replaced. I have never been reembursed $682. 00.

I bought my 2023 Pathfinder fwd brand new in September, 2023. First few days I bought it it would switch to neutral or cut off while sitting at a light. It is now December and the ac/heater when on full blast reduces to mild on it own, the remote start no longer sets car temp based on outside time, the light in car doesn't come on when open doors, if key is in car and car is own it will lock by itself, the radio will play 5 seconds then turn off and go to a different screen, at times the screen will go from screen to screen on its on and will randomly switch to manual when I am stopped at drive through or backing out and putting in drive. Very frustrated with my purchase.

The automatic collision breaking system light just came on. I turned it off and waited a while. I was fine for two days then came back on and stayed on. Took it to the dealer and they said I must have hit something because the sensors were not aligned. I explained I had hit nothing. There is no damage at all to the bumper. No accident reports no damage nothing but they insisted I “must have hit something. ” light when off again for about a day then came back on. Radio turns off and on randomly. Had an engine overheating after I turned the car on a 56 degree day.

I have a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, if this model year runs out of gas or stalls in traffic with the engine inoperative the vehicle cannot be moved out of the lane of traffic. It has an electronic transmission therefore the vehicle has to stay in the lane of traffic until towed. All wheel vehicle would be very criticle. Three dealers have verbally confirmed there is no remedy at this time.

While driving on the parkway several times for traveling to work, my car would suddenly and violently shudder and drop speed much lower than the posted speed limit. My rpms would race from 1. 5 to 5 but no increase in speed when the accelerator was pushed. I had to put my emergency 4 way lights on and drive in the far right lane. Nissan dealership kept saying the vehicle was working fine when I complained about it. I took it in for service at least twice, nothing found. Then when my whole family was with me, the car shuddered violently, and would not respond at all with the accelator pedal and was unresponsive and the brakes difficult to engage and hard to steer. I had to glide into the shoulder to make a full stop. Then the engine would not turn off. All I could do was put my emergency flashers on and put the windows down for air. I had to call for help. My husband then tried the next day to drive my vehicle to the Nissan dealership, but again, the vehicle broke down and had to be towed. Nissan then finally diagnosed the problems as needing transmission replacement. Since it is a hybrid 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with less than 84,000 miles and over 7 years old I would need to buy a new transmission for over $14,000. My milage is under 73,500, but my vehicle is 9 years old. So my mileage is acceptable, but the age of the vehicle disqualifies me, because both parameters must be met for warranty to be effective. I already spent $1400 for a new air compressor system less than 3 months earlier for the same vehicle. I had no heat and no air conditioner.

My Pathfinder alarm goes off several times an hour. It locks door then starts itself randomly throughout the day. There’s a security feature that car will not lock if the key is in the vehicle it still locks. Starts.

Vehicle has auto stop/start. When at a red light and vehicle stops moving engine will shut off. When light goes green and foot is removed from break, vehicle starts up. Sometimes when starting back up it goes into neutral automatically. Other times the vehicle attempts to start. But shifts into neutral and shuts down completely. At this point you must manually restart the engine. This has created safety concerns for my family.

The power liftgate switch on the trunk is always having issues due to the chrome plate thats part of the body on the trunk. The chrome panel is easily weathered and rubber seal comes off and when in contact with water, water drains right onto the relay switch and causes burnt out relay, or blown fuses, and does not operate.

Issue 1 . . . Shift lock solenoid has a faulty wire on bottom solenoid. Unable to move gear out of park. Issue 2 . . . Power lift gate fails to open. No power options work or manual option will not open rear hatch.

While driving, the "at" warning light came on, the vehicle was making a griding noise. Upon stopping for safety reasons, the vehicle would not engage into 'park. " once turned off and back on, the vehicle would not engage into drive from park, then finally went into drive. In the next few minutes driving to work to get off the main road and to wait for aaa, the "at" warning light was on again and the car was griniding gears and accelerating randomly. After arriving at my work, the vehicle would not engage into park again, had to shut it opff and turn it back on which then showed it in park. Was towed to the dealer who stated the shifter was malfunctioning and they replaced the shifter and cleared all codes. Peter's Nissan of nashua stated that the vehicle tested fine now and was fine to drive.

No warning lamps or error codes given on instrument cluster while driving normally the car suddenly would not accelerate almost causing an accident while turning left. The car was driven home on idle. This happened 2 weeks prior and the battery was replaced to rule out problem and it worked fine for 2 weeks fine . The same problem occurred again and will not accelerate. This is a major safety hazard and I’m looking into legal action for negligence and non helpful Nissan corporation.

The doors close securely with the keys inside. We had to call the police, since my 1-year-old baby was locked inside the vehicle and the app did not work for me.

Cvt failed. Confirmed by certified Nissan dealer. No warnings at all. This is a known issue by Nissan that has affected millions of customers. Vehicle killed while driving in one of the largest cities in american with a special needs disabled child in the car.
