The Pathfinder was recalled due to transmission problems. When I heard about the settlement had been settled. So I called the company directly and found out that the Pathfinder had not ever been changed from the previous owner. So no one wanted to help me. So we had taken the Pathfinder in before I knew of the recall due to transmission leaking. Had purchased extended warranty they refused to repair the transmission. So last month I had to come up with money to have a transmission put in. Because it was stuck in park and drive. No take in consideration I had contacted Nissan directly and they refused to do anything and knew this year had just settled a civil lawsuit. So I need help with being reimbursed by Nissan. There was as if, it was stuck in low gear, high pitch sound when started, hesitated when leaving a stop light, difficult time picking up speed, constantly leaking transmission liquid, high pitch noice when was put in reverse and jerking as when it was on the high way trying to shift gears. Had a particular smell at times. Even called cvt about the problem. Everyone refused to replace the transmission. Was unable to attach the second page of the document. I can provide documentation when we first took in the Pathfinder with this problem.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. While the vehicle was at a stop sign with the brake pedal depressed, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated forward into traffic and suddenly stopped. The maintenance, 4wd, and check engine warning indicators illuminated. Also, the gear shifter symbols were blank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission fluid had a burning odor. The transmission was replaced, but the failure recurred two days later. Additionally, while driving 35 mph, the vehicle became stuck in first gear. The vehicle was towed to the same independent mechanic. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 131,000.

My 2013 Nissan Pathfinder gear shift gets stuck in the park position. It happens when the car is stationary and need to turn off the car and restart the car multiple times to get the gear shift out of park.
I am one of those unfortunate individuals who recently bought a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder le which was in great shape and maintained well with an almost impeccable carfax report. Just after having the vehicle in the middle of driving the vehicle got stuck in 4th gear loosing all access to other gears and nearly causing me to have a collision with other vehicles. I took it to a mechanic and they told me it was the fluid from the radiator in the transmission and will cost several thousand dollars to fix.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle was constantly remaining stuck in first gear and in reverse. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then taken to a dealer for diagnosis. The vehicle was also inspected and diagnosed by more than one independent mechanic. The mechanics all informed that there was a failure in the transmission due to the radiator having an internal premature fracture, which caused the coolant to leak into the transmission. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the radiator and the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 142,320.

I noticed my 2007 Pathfinder's heater would only work when the car was moving but, figured it was something insignificant and would get it fixed soon. I then started to notice my transmission slipping and stalling out around 40 mph. I decided I better get it into the shop before I was stranded somewhere. Before taking my car into the shop, I figured I'd check the internet and make sure there weren't any recalls on the heating system. I typed in "2007 Nissan Pathfinder" on google and it auto-filled "transmission problems" - not a good sign. Apparently, Nissan was aware of the faulty radiators in these vehicles which leak antifreeze in to the transmission and destroy the drive train, yet did nothing about it. . Post after post described the exact same issues I was having with my car - people were describing how their cars were getting stuck in high or low gears going down the highway and it scared me to death! I immediately called two local Nissan dealerships and gave them my VIN and mileage. I was informed, due to some worthless settlement with Nissan, my portion of the cost would be $3,000. Here is what most infuriates me about this situation: 1. Nissan was obviously aware of this issue many years ago so why didn't they recall the radiator and save us this trouble and expense? does someone have to die before something is done? I'm sure it's only a matter of time with vehicles getting stuck in high gear or stalling out on the interstate! 2. Who did this class action suit help exactly? sounds like Nissan definitely got the bigger end of the stick. When it all boils down, I'm guessing they are out very little, if any, money at all. 3. What happened to customer service? this isn't just bad service - it's bad business. It's absurd that car companies are allowed to sell faulty vehicles without repercussion.

Started with a clicking noise then started high gear started shimming now stuck in high gear & have antifreeze in transmission.
My radiator is evidently cracked, leaking coolant into my transmission, causing failure to shift. My vehicle began losing power. At one point, I attempted to accelerate through an intersection from a stand-still as the traffic light turned green. I was nearly rear-ended by the vehicle behind me as my vehicle was not moving, like being stuck in neutral.
I just filed a complaint last week regarding my air bag on my 2 month old Pathfinder and this week I had trouble with my transmission. Approximately one month ago when I was accelerating onto the highway my car seemed to get stuck in second gear and would not go above 30 mph. The rpms were going up to 7000 without any additional power. This only lasted for about 10 seconds. The dealer checked out the car and said that nothing was wrong with it and that it may have been a communication problem with the transmission. It happened again this week, again trying to merge onto a highway. The speed limit on the highway was 55 and my Pathfinder would not accelerate past 30-35 miles per hour for 1/4 to 1/2 mile. It is quite disconcerting when a tractor trailer rides up on your bumper going at least 55 miles an hour and you have no power to accelerate to get out of the way. Once again, no warning lights came on the dash so I am sure that when I take it back to the dealer next week they are going to once again tell me that nothing is wrong with the vehicle. Obviously this is a safety concern when the transmission can just stop responding like that. I don't know how Nissan can use the excuse "because it didn't trigger a internal warning with the computer, nothing is wrong. " clearly something is wrong and since Nissan really needs to address this issue.
Crack in radiator that was installed by Nissan leaked into transmission. Driving down road it got stuck in high gear.
While traveling at a speed of less than 30 mph in the left turn lane I heard a loud grinding noise that felt like the gears stuck. The car then suddenly and without warning, revved up,speed forward with the steering wheel locked to the right. The steering and brakes were non responsive, and I had no control. My car, at a high rate of speed, crossed three additional lanes striking a telephone pole(actually split the pole in 2 places), transformer, fire hydrant, and finally rolling down a hill where it came to rest in a parking lot. There was fire from the power lines touchin and water gushing from the fire hydrant at the same time. My father was two cars ahead of me and witnessed the entire accident. We had just left from getting the annual emissions checked on our vehicles and had traveled less than a mile towards home, when the accident occurred. I was told by the paramedics that they never saw anyone walk away from an accident this severe. I suffered whiplash, minor cuts and a 2nd degree concussion but this malfunction could have resulted in the death of me or someone else.
