36 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/16/2022

On January 16, 2022, my husband and I had to be escorted off of the road by a police officer. Luckily, turning off the Pathfinder resulted in resetting whatever occurred. At that time, the vehicle would not accelerate past 20 mph and showing about 4000 rpms. This happened a few more times in our neighborhood, causing us to turn it off and restart in the middle of the road. Since then, the Nissan dealership has changed the battery, claiming that it was the only computer reading. Within two days of the new battery, it happened again to my husband in orlando. The dealership is unable to replicate the problem, and my husband and I are afraid as he uses the Pathfinder for travel with business to atlanta. These "revving" events occur randomly, and the dealership is unable to contact the Nissan engineers until they are able to replicate the problem. It's two days now the Pathfinder has been in the shop with no progress. My husband and I are afraid as this is our work vehicle and only reliable source of transportation.

37 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/27/2021

The icc gives false crash warnings and automatically brakes your vehicle while driving at highway speeds, which is a dangerous situation. I believe it to be a bad bosch radar sensor which is faulty. Other owners have told me of their same problem.

38 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 10/16/2021

Upon attempting to rapidly and fully press the accelerator pedal to the floor, the accelerator pedal broke at the point where it connects in the footwell. This occurred while highway driving at an approximate speed of 70 to 80 mph.

39 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

Unknown. Every time I drive above 50 mph the car vibrates hard and it’s audible. It feels like the engine. I had it checked out by two mechanics but they couldn’t figure it out. I had my wheels balanced, bought new tires at the mechanic suggestion. That hasn’t helped. I’m not sure if this is safe to drive and it doesn’t make me feel safe. This has been going on for months. Please let me know if they’re similar complaints and what I should do about it. Thank you.

40 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/12/2021

I was driving down the road and the car wouldn’t shift into second gear. The speed limit was 35 mph and my car would only go 20 mph. I couldn’t drive home safely, no warning lights came on or anything. Dealership said my cvt transmission needs to be replaced. This sudden drop in speed became a hazard for me and my passenger.

41 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/18/2021

Purchased this vehicle in February 2019. Two years later in may 2021, I was slowing down to make a turn and when it was time to accelerate out of the turn, the car felt like it lost power and even though I was pushing the gas pedal, the car seemed to be stuck and hesitating. It wouldn't go over 5mph. Brought into carmax where I purchased it from, but because there were no lights on they couldn't find the problem and the diagnostic didn't pick up any codes. Two days later the car did this again and this time it literally died as well in the middle of a busy street. This time is rattled and shook when it died. Carmax said to bring it in to a Nissan dealership. Nissan tried to get me to pay for a new engine!! said there was sludge on the oil cap and that was an indication that we never changed the oil. We change the oil every 5,000miles! carmax warranty wouldn't approve a new engine based on 1 mechanics opinions. I kept insisting it felt like a transmission issue, but they can only investigate if they have a direction via idiot lite or code from the diagnostic. So if they did the inspection and there was an issue, then it would be covered by the ext. Warranty. But if they didn't find an issue, I was responsible for inspection and labor $300+. They replaced the alternator. Car has been running great for the last 9 months until this week! the car is doing it again. Several times in a matter of 3 days the car has literally felt like it loses its power and wont go over 20mph no matter how far you push on the gas pedal. Seems to happen when accelerating from a slow down, stop, turn or an incline. You can literally feel the loss in power. Brought it to a different Nissan dealer, who said right away it sounds like the cvt transmission issue. I am devastated. I love everything about this vehicle. I am praying that carmax's extended warranty covers this and that it fixes the problem. Concerned when I read others had it fixed but still having the issue!.

43 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/22/2021

I got new transmission and dealership told me I had to pay for alternator battery and fuel pump and after I got my car back not to mention the dealership stole everything from my car and my car was as till the same and they said my warranty was up and I barely drov e it around and it broke down again.

44 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/04/2021

The vehicle swings left to right when cruising at about any speed. When the vehicle is pulling it does not swing or sway, however once the vehicle has got up to a desired speed and you try to maintain a steady speed it starts a “death wobble” which nearly cannot hold it on correct side of the road. You have to increase speed or reduce speed dramatically to regain control of the vehicle.

45 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/28/2020

The car suddenly started stalling on the highway and would not accelerate and stuck at the same speed. The check engine light came on. This happened a few times where the car would stall and the acceleration would not work on local roads as well as the interstate thus considerably slowing the speed of the traffic upon getting it inspected at the dealership, they found the crankshaft sensor was faulty.

46 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/19/2020

My engine is loosing power when driving. The car shudders(lose power) and then it has delayed engagement. Since the first time it happened it continue to happen intermittently.

47 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 08/30/2020

On multiple occasions (at least 6 - twice within 10 minutes of each other), when turning after slowing down or being at a complete stop, the car seems to lose power. It will not accelerate unless your foot is taken off the gas pedal and the gas pedal is pressed down again. It a a safety concern because there has been oncoming traffic when this has happened. An accident is bound to occur. The car dealer can't isolate the issue. Their recommendation is to replace the abs module which they think might fix the problem. . The cost is $2100 for the part alone to repair what they hope will fix it. This should absolutely be a recall.

48 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2009 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/15/2020

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle was at stand still at a parking lot, when entering the vehicle it began to move forward while the gear was on park. The contact stated she depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact stated she injured her leg while entering the vehicle. The contact did not seek any medical attention. The vehicle was undrivable. The vehicle was towed to independent mechanic and was made aware of the failure. 49 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/01/2020

Vehicle will not accelerate when stopped at light, stop sign, switching from reverse to drive intermittently. This happens when it wants to. The brake light switch was replaced a couple weeks ago when the brake lights were noticed to not shut off and vehicle would turn on without pressing the brake pedal. Seemed to fix the situation but now again having the same issues. Bringing car back to Nissan dealer for repair. Found that years prior there was a safety recall but not for the 2015. This is very dangerous especially when pulling out in front of traffic. Car will not accelerate until brake pedal is pressed or letting off the gas pedal, then reengaging. This is in city or stopped then accelerating to ramp to get onto the highway. Brake lights stay on which is also hazardous when others wouldn't know when I'm actually stopping. The acceleration issue seems to happen when stopped then accelerating. The brake lights seem to stay on when they want to stick. The brake light is hard to turn off. Pressing the brake pedal when car is off a few times helped after 3 tries. Hard to know if brake lights are on constantly in the day but when it's darker out able to notice more.

50 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/20/2020

To whom it may concern; I hope that this email doesn't fall under deaf ears and someone can reach out and assist me with my vehicle problem. This is a safety concern and needs your immediate attention. I have taken the vehicle to my local dealership who has informed me that this is a manufactory problem. I have three lovely kids that depend on their mother to drive them around. As a loyal Nissan owner, the brand history and quality is why I have been with you for years and the reason I invested in the purchase of your vehicle (brand new). My entire family has always been Nissan loyal customers for years and this has eroded our concerns in the quality and brand. My family and I have never experienced this poor quality on previous vehicles that we purchased in the past so this is why I come to you now that the dealership is unable to assist us. I hope this last effort to reach out to you and address my safety concerns. We expect that you are as loyal to your customers as your customers are loyal to you when there is an issue. My vehicle seems to shudders (jerks and stutters) during acceleration or driving for no apparent reason. It has happened several times and without warning and for no apparent reason. My local dealership inspected the vehicle and informed me that this is a manufactory issue/defect and I needed to contact you. I attached a copy of the dealership inspection. I reviewed the us NHTSA website and noticed several similar issues related to my model from various customers seem to have this problem. Please review and informed me what course of action I need to proceed. We wait for your response and hope to see this matter resolved.

51 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/04/2020

Vehicle loses acceleration when driving, and even with full gas pedal doesn't pickup speed. This is very unsafe when driving and prone to causing accident or death risk. The dealer couldn't trace the issue after performing standard diagnostics. This issue is happening very frequently, with no remediation or resolution by dealers. This same vehicle has brakelight issues. The brakelights stay even though no brakes are in use and/or vehicle is parked. The brake and acceleration has to be pressed frustrating number of times before they turn-off. This issue may potentially cause on-road accident risk or drain the battery. There is no error message nor diagnostic displayed in teh vehicle.

52 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 12/30/2019

I pulled out to turn left on a four lane city street, entered into the first 2 lanes (traffic coming from driver's side) when the car stopped accelerating and just sat motionless while cars in both lanes were moving toward me. Speed limit on that street is 50 mph. I maintained pressure on the gas, and eventually the car began to move. The next morning, I took the car to the brandon florida Nissan dealer and it was determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be "rebuilt". This is a 2017 Pathfinder with 45000 miles.

53 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/20/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. While the vehicle was at a stop sign with the brake pedal depressed, the engine revved and the vehicle accelerated forward into traffic and suddenly stopped. The maintenance, 4wd, and check engine warning indicators illuminated. Also, the gear shifter symbols were blank. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission fluid had a burning odor. The transmission was replaced, but the failure recurred two days later. Additionally, while driving 35 mph, the vehicle became stuck in first gear. The vehicle was towed to the same independent mechanic. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 131,000.

61 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/14/2019

I bought the vehicle having no idea of this issue, I didn't investigate because this is our 7th Nissan and they have been good cars. I was driving 75 mph to work at rush hour and the trans started letting loose and shuddering so bad I had to pull over onto the should and that's just as safe as driving this thing. Paid a lot of money to have it sitting in the driveway. But everyone that asks why I tell them because Nissan doesn't care about their loyal customers. We intended for our 14 y/o to drive it but no way in the world would I let that happen.

62 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

I had my transmission flushed at approx. 52k miles on 2/23/2019. In April 2019, the transmission begin having issues. Rpms would ride high; however, transmission would not up-shift. Occurred despite accelerator pressed to the floor. When releasing the accelerator and pressing again, the transmission would jerk and begin to up-shift. Issue is intermittent. Can occur when taking off after stopping at an intersection, and suddenly when smoothly accelerating upon entering freeways. Having safety concerns, I took the vehicle to Nissan and explained the issue as noted above on 5/8/2019. Despite telling josh kern the issue was the transmission, I later discovered he recorded the issue as ". . . The throttle wasn't responsive. " he called saying the car was driven 60 miles and the issue was resolved by performing a "idle relearn" and "self learn" software update. Because of this, the vehicle now idled very high. After driving it a few days, the issue occurred again. Reviewing the service doc, I realized the vehicle was only driven 1 mile and not the 60 miles. It also had notes from the technician that "issue could not be duplicated. " I returned to Nissan to speak to the service manager, but he was not available. While there, I requested all hard-copies of work performed. On one page was written notes about erasing codes, mention of the trans. , engine & iacv-aac, ecm on faded print-out of codes. Made other attempts to contact manager with no success. In Aug. 2019, the dealership gm put me in contact w steve zani (asst. Serv. Mgr. ) he was very helpful, but was unable to duplicate issue. High idle from update seems to be masking issue frequency. Called niss con affairs-case36982668. Renee' was no help. Refused to update case or call dealership. Had my name wrong, elusive and short on phone. Worried issue not given proper credence; despite defect and safety concerns.

63 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 05/05/2019

Vehicle will not accelerate (no throttle response) randomly and without warning. Rpms do not budge despite pedal being to the floor. Problem seems to be more common when the steering wheel is turned. Shifting vehicle I to neutral briefly and then back to drive seems to resolve problem, but this isn't at all safe turning into in an intersection with cars coming. Seems kind of ridiculous this isn't a big deal to an oem.

64 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/25/2019

Loss of power while in motion from a 35 mph zone and went down to 20 mph release gas pedal and regained power. I see the same issue reported other posts. Please investigate before the loss of life.

65 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/19/2019

The brake lights remained on while driving and after the vehicle was shut off. At several points, the accelerator stopped working while driving, this happened on a four-lane street and on residential streets.

66 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/04/2019

Truck shudders after being parked or stopped at a light on take off when trying to pick up speed. Also in the motion of driving on city and or highway.

67 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

In the last several weeks, I am experiencing loss of acceleration for my Nissan Pathfinder 2015 (33,000 miles). For some reasons, there is no acceleration nor rpm increased when I floored the gas pedal for several seconds after releasing the gas pedal (coasting) due to traffic stops or want to make a turn or after full stop. The car was coasting around 20 mph and didn't accelerate.

68 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

Brake lights stay on even after car is turned off and car will not accelerate momentarily intermittently. Also the rear hatch will not open.

69 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/27/2019

I have a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. I had my transmission changed under warranty after two years and 8 months later I've started to have acceleration problems and the break lights stay on after the vehicle is turned off. Usually after a complete stop or yielding I can push the gas pedal to the floor and nothing will happen for several seconds. I actually thought the car turned off the first time it happened. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't duplicate the issue. One week later the same thing happened again. This time I called Nissan corporation and was provided a case number and told to take it back to the dealer. The dealer had the car for 4 days and once again stated they couldn't find anything. Two days after picking the car up, it did the exact same thing. Once again I called Nissan corporation and left them a message. I called the dealer and was surprised that they told me I couldn't bring the car in, because they can't duplicate the problem. I submit this is a safety concern that should force Nissan to recall all vehicles affected with no acceleration.

70 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/18/2019

Engine rattling, turned out to be a faulty radiator cooling fan. Needed to replace whole fan assembly after 50,000 miles. Intermittently brake lights will stay on when car is parked, draining the battery. Perhaps a brake relay switch. Also intermittently, the vehicle has severe issues accelerating. If going 40 mph, and attempt to accelerate, there is little to no response. From full stop, there is occasionally no response at all until releasing and reapplying the gas pedal. This is incredibly dangerous!.
