Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Nissan Quest

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Nissan Quest. While driving approximately 25 mph, the contact struck a utility vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The airbag light turns on when a passenger is sitting on the passenger seat. The "airbag off" is "on" on various occasions during the drive, it goes on and then after some times it turns off. The airbag seems faulty. Looks like if the vehicle is in an accident, the airbags might not deploy, therefore the passenger is not safe from a vehicle crash. It always happens when I drive the vehicle and a passenger is sitting on the passenger seat.

On Jan 25 2016 my car was involved in a no fault accident smashing head on into a snow bank and then rolling onto the roof then crunching on the passenger door. My forehead was smashed into the steering wheel of 10 airbags not 1 airbag deployed. I sustained injury and if I had a my family in the vehicle there would have been serious injury or death to the passengers. No side impact bags deployed or passenger airbags deployed. I am concerned that with this violent impact and the rolling of the vehicle that there should have been side impact airbag deployment and both front srs airbags deployment. This should be investigated. At my Nissan dealership in wake forest alone there has been 4 including mine that had this type of defective dash that was replaced. My vehicle was a total lose according to the insurance investigation.

Advised Nissan that airbag sensor light keeps flashing. Airbag light came on when I started car for no particular reason. Nissan told me it was going to cost $800 to repair. I decided to report this incident after my husbands car also a Nissan (pathfinder) started having the same problem in Feb 2014. An f-350 ran a stoplight at 50 mph and impacted the front driver side of van at the tire. The van turned upon impact and received the balance of the impact head on with concentration to the left quadrant. Further spinning, the van then impacted the side of the offending vehicle. I have a 2004 Nissan Quest which had a recall to fix a problem where the front passenger airbag sensor would cause an airbag to still deploy even if a child was sitting in that seat. After the recall was performed, my "passenger airbag disabled" indicator remains on even with an adult (weight 105lbs) in the passenger seat. We have brought this to the dealership and they report that the manufacturer says this is how it is intended to work and they will do nothing to fix the problem. The safety of my wife is at risk when I drive this vehicle since the airbag will not deploy during an accident when she is riding in the passenger seat.
