Front Air Bag Problems of Nissan Quest

Driver & passenger airbags deployed with an accident/collision. Passenger seatbelt broke after airbags deployed.

On 1-11-08 I was involved in a single car collision in my 2004 Nissan Quest. I was avoiding another vehicle and swerved into a cement barrier wal, head on. I then tried to correct the vehicle and struck the right front bumper into another cement wall. Neither airbag deployed. My vehicle has been looked at by progressive and a body shop, plus sent for diagnostics to a Nissan dealer. Everyone agrees the airbags should have deployed.

I was driving on a side road with my daughters in the car when the airbag deployed for no reason. Ten min utes later the car alarm sounded for 15 minutes Nissan is claiming from the inspection that I was in a moderate to severe collision. This is totally not true. My daughters can attest to this. There are scraps under my car from the long gravel driveway that I use to drive to a horse farm. They are using these scraps as evidence of a collision. They will not repair the airbag or seatbelt. This is a huge safety issue for all 2004 Quest owners.

While driving my 2001 Nissan Quest van, travelling at between 30 and 35 mph, a driver of a full-sized pickup truck coming from a side street, didn't see his stop sign. He was also travelling at approximately 30-35 mph. I noticed him only in time for my foot to reach the brake pedal before impacting the passenger side of his truck at the rear of the passenger door. The impact spun his vehicle 180 degrees and mine about 25, from the direction of original travel. It took approximately 1 second for my vehicle to decelerate from 35 to 0. The impact to my vehicle was from the front driver's side across the front of the vehicle. The damage was enough to push the radiator back at about a 35 degree angle from verticle. I sustained minor injuries and the other passengers sustained no treatable injuries. In my opinion the airbags should have deployed, but didn't. This is the reason for my complaint.

While sitting at an intersection the vehicle was rear ended. This caused the vehicle to collide into the vehicle in the front of him, none of the air bags deployed. This caused the passenger to sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection. The caused has not been determined.

While driving and turning to the left side of the road consumer hit a pot hole, and both air bags deployed.

My son was driving the vehicle and ran into the back of a boat trailer. Speed at impact was approximately 30mph. The vehicle he hit did not stop, we suspect he didn't even realize he had been hit and probably thought he just hit a bump in the road or something. The vehicle suffered front end damage typical of a 30mph crash. What is very upsetting is that the vehicle caught on fire and burnt up. Despite the fact the several truck drivers stopped to assist and emptied 4 extinguishers on the fire, it wasn't enough to put it out. On top of all of that neither airbag, driver side or passenger side did not deploy despite a direct front on impact. Needless to say I am very upset with the manufacturer. A 30mph collision should not result in a totaled vehicle.

Consumer states that in a frontal accident none of the air bags deployed on impact.

Front collision at 50 mph, neither airbag deployed, consumer suffered severe whiplash. Damage to vehicle was $ 4300. 00. On 27 April 2002, front collision at 40 mph, neither airbag deployed, no injuries. Damage to vehicle was $ 4500. 00.

While traveling in stop and go traffic and another vehicle jumped in front of him. Consumer applied brakes and he hit motorist from behind. Upon impact, airbag didn't go off. Dealership was aware of problem.

Another vehicle invaded my lane, coming in opposite direction, we hit head on causing great damage in front and driver side of my minivan. I assume we both were at 30 mph. While traveling at 5 mph and making u turn, wheel went over curve and air bags deployed without indication. Dealer has been notified. Driver suffered physical injuries, and he rtwo children were quite tramatized.

Consumer's son was driving when he hit a bump in road and both air bags deployed, burning his arms.

When the underbody of vehicle scrapped the road there was deployment of both air bags. The deployment of the air bags caused the windshield to break.
