36 Body problem of the 2008 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 05/31/2010

While driving on a main highway, the right side rail cover fell off during the impact from driving over a pot hole. It was determined by my own repair facility that it was missing the only screw which holds the rail cover, along with 5-6 prongs. This screw belongs on a metal piece located behind the tail light. The lost rail cover was replaced along with the screw. If screw was there, part would of hung on. If rail cover had the screw, on high speed, it would of bent the metal part inside and most likely broken the tail light. The rail cover part that fell could have caused damage to other vehicles, hurt drivers and passengers or pedestrians.

Over the last several months we have noticed a moldy smell in the car and it has gotten worse. We took it to the dealer who discover a leak in the rear hatch that had soaked the carpet in the rear well. Dealer found rear hatch seal had failed and needed to be replaced. 38 Body problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 12/01/2009

During cold weather the back, sliding, doors freeze shut. It takes a very long time for them to "defrost" and be opened. Additionally, I have a small child in a carseat and I need to climb through to the back seats from the front to buckle them in. Lastly, when the doors do finally thaw the "door ajar" light comes on and I need to pull over and open/close it.

Failure Date: 06/24/2009

Both passenger side window have a rattling noise. I bring in the dealer several times. However, every time it getting worse. This is in 2009. Finally, just give up on this. Nissan refuse to replace with another vehicle even though it was within 30 days of purchase. The dealer ship and Nissan company were very difficult to deal with. You get the run around each time you visit.

42 Body problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/01/2008

I was driving my 2004 Nissan Quest (with approx 60500 miles) at 55 mph on local highway when it sounded like the side of car was hit. I pulled into the nearest gas station and found that my passenger power sliding door rail cover siding piece (~4ft by 8 inches) had nearly completely detached from the car except for bent back bracket. I could not remove (piece wedge into tail light) so I pushed it in as best as possible and drove 20 miles home. The piece fell off completely in driveway when I opened passenger door. I am very fortunate the piece did not detach completely and hit the car behind me when I was traveling 55 mph. I googled and found 2 other reports of this safety/design problem occurring with 2004 Quest. Other than the single bent bracket and a bit of chipped paint on the edge that has wedged under the tail light--this piece and my car show no other signs of damage. I was not hit by anything--so either this piece was not properly attached or the attachment is not properly designed.

43 Body problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/05/2008

Our 2004 Nissan Quest which we purchased new is rusting around the sun roof. We have had numerous problems with the van. For a vehicle less than 5 years old, and has been garage kept, I believe rust in this location is a defect in the vehicle. When my dealer said he would not cover fixing the rust, I took the van to a body shop, and the owner was so appalled by the rust, that he called a different Nissan dealer, who agreed and recommended we file a claim to Nissan's claim office. After several weeks, and having to take the van back to the dealer 4 times, the claims office stated that since the van is out of warranty, it is not covered. My claim number with Nissan is 6336483.

44 Body problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

My 2007 Nissan Quest rear driver side sliding door is defective and not shutting properly. It is over traveling and hitting the b pillar metal on metal and now is rusting out. I do not feel it is safe and have brought it to two different Nissan dealers. They state the door is with in Nissans specifications but when I ask for the details of said specifications on the door they state there is not one. I have called 1800nissan1 and asked for a specification but they can not provide one either. I need the defective door corrected as this is a safety concern and I will not let my family ride in the vehicle until this is repaired or proven to be with in specification.

45 Body problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 04/13/2006

Water has leaked into the car from the area of the sunglass holder on two occasions. The sunglass holder is located in the middle right at the top edge of the windshield. On one occasion it leaked after washing the car. On the second occasion it happened during a heavy rainstorm. The dealer would not fix or investigate the problem further because their glass contractor could not duplicate the problem using a hose.
