Fuel gauge goes from full to empty when it's almost full, Nissan did a fuel sender campaign repair but it did not correct the problem. . . This happens every time I start the car and drive just a mile or so.
This fuel gauge left me inside of the road first day of school for 3 kids. . Now it has a slow oil leak that the mechanics can't seem to find.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the failure was due to a faulty sensor. The sensor was replaced but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 86,000. Jft.
Took the car in for the yearly emission test and it did not pass. It states code p0462. Had the Nissan dealer also check the vehicle and it also states that the fuel gauge is not working. Check engine light is on. Nissan is not returning back my calls and I received a possible recall noticed on January 2015. I am up for the emission test again and need to get this fixed so it can pass it. My plates will be suspended if it does not pass. Also when I fill up it the fuel gauge doesn't move up to full. I am afraid I might run out of gas so I am consistently putting gas. . . . Updated 09/03/15.
Nissan recalled certain VIN for fuel gauge malfunction. My fuel gauge does not work at all, and my engine light is on all the time. I live in temperatures in az that can exceed 125 degrees, so if I run out of gas, this could be a very serious situation.
The vehicle fuel gauge and trip meter both show that I have significantly more fuel than is actually the case, causing me to be stranded beside the road with no gas. This fault has caused my wife and my daughter who was a small child to be stranded on the side of the road in precarious situations. I reported the problem to Nissan but they blew me off. I told them that similar vehicles had been recalled but they said that my vehicle wasn't included in the vehicles that were affected.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated and lunge forward. Also, the contact mentioned that the fuel gauge provided an erroneous reading and showed the fuel level fluctuating. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,000. Pam.
The car has been experiencing fuel gauge issues - very similar to pe14012 for the past 6 months where we could not rely on the gauge and started using the trip odometer whenever we filled up. Now - the vehicle doesn't want to accept gasoline and keeps shutting off at the pump. I seems like the problem is compounding now.
Fuel gauge stopped working, backup sensors stopped working, and alot of electrical issues.
2005 Nissan Quest had less than a 1/4 tank of gas and light was on. Was at dealership getting brakes replaced for the 4th time. Took van to gas station next door and put 16 gallons ($62) of gas in. Restarted car and gas tank still read less than 1/4 and empty light/warnings still flashing. Drove back to dealership, they tried to reset and ended up disconnecting the battery. Once the battery was reconnected the fuel gauge showed full. This was oct 2011 with 46,000mi. It is now April and car has 55,000mi. I was unable to disconnect battery so had to continue driving with warning light. After about 20mi, gauge now reads less than 1/2 tank but tank should be reading full. There was already a recall for a number of Nissan vehicles for gas gauge issues. Clearly a Nissan issue that needs to be recalled and fixed across the board. Having to disconnect the battery to get the fuel gauge to read is not a good long term solution. Also this van goes through brakes at an astounding rate. We have had to replace the brake pads front and back 4 times in the last 30,000 mi and now need new rotors. Also have replaced tires 3 times. Most recent mechanic said van was poorly designed with brakes and tires meant for a much lighter vehicle.

The brakes heat up and the rotors warp. The steering wheel would start shaking when the consumer applied the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealership at that point. The consumer stated it happened every 4000 miles since she has had the vehicle. It first happened in March of 2004. The dealership is telling the consumer that the brakes are heating up. The rotors have been resurfaced three times. They ordered new rotors and they have been on for approximately 3 months and the steering wheel is shaking again. She has also gone through two fuel injectors. She was told that she is putting low grade fuel into the vehicle. Other issues: the passenger side auto door would rattle when the vehicle was in motion, abnormal shifting, engine light had come on, rear wiper had broken, steering wheel would shake due to the brakes, the front left seat back was loose due to poor fit, mouding on the rear of the driver's seat was coming off, the fuel gauge was stuck on empty after two fill ups.
