My vehicle is experiencing the issue under recall NHTSA id 12v076000: fuel supply issue that could cause engine stalling. Specifically, due to a programming error, the fuel pump might not supply enough fuel to the engine when driving at slow speeds or idling downhill with a ¼ tank or less of fuel.

If I push the brakes to make the car stop, then try to have it accelerate again, like at a stop sign or anything, the gas pedal feels like it’s not doing anything, and the car doesn’t start for like 5 seconds, then when it does it goes about 5 mph for like 500 feet, then it goes back to normal, and because of this we feel it’s not safe to operate. This happens every time I drive it, so I only feel safe on not very populated roads driving it.
I entered 14 freeway by sierra hwy entrance, as soon as I got in the fwy and left the pedal gas to slow down to get into traffic my van lost power and the shut off complete, I was very fortunate that it happened at the entrance and the cars behind me were able to stop on time and nobody got hurt, also today as soon I exit the cvs store get in into traffic, 1 minute after the van lost power and got stuck in traffic, this is very scary for me and my kids, my mechanics are not able to find the problem, please help.

1. Fuel gauge- the fuel hague is incorrect. I suspect somewhere between 1/2 tank and 3/8 tank will actually be an empty tank. I was almost left stranded when I could make it to the next service station. The car performed slow and the car came to a slow stop. No fuel indicator light came on. 2. My steering wheel has been very difficult to turn. Suddenly the power steering tank requires daily service. There is a rattling noise that gets a little better when I pour power steering fluid. I am unable to make safe turns due to the steering wheel no moving at it’s normal rate. Turning at intersections is the worst as I sometimes have to try several attempts. I end up having to take wide turns and that is not always safe in our narrow streets. There is no indicator light related to this concern.
I backed out of driveway towards the south to head north on public way. Vehicle immediately started accelerating backwards (south) without assistance, quickly getting out of control. No amount of pressure on my part would make the brakes work and there was no control of the steering. The vehicle was no longer under my control and crashed backwards into a large tree which held it from crashing farther, and a small tree on the side which held it from rolling down into a brook. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I would prefer that it be inspected. No vehicles or pedestrians were in the street when the vehicle lost all control without human assistance. The passenger is front passenger seat was taken to er and has since been seeing a doctor. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or other service center. The police were at scene of accident right after it occurred. No lights, messages, or other symptoms gave any warning before the vehicle started racing and immediately went out of control with no control over speed, brakes or steering.

Cvt transmission is failing, it is very very common with Nissan.
Acceleration from a full stop is unreliable. The issue is most prominent when going up a slight incline and will continue until the vehicle is able to level off, when acceleration resumes to normal response. Even on level road surfaces, the acceleration is inconsistent once accelerator is pressed. This has been a consistent issue for well over a year.
The air bag light glitches on the dashboard, it turns on and off. The only windows that open are the front door windows, the back side windows could barely crack open && the temperature inside the vehicle "with the windows open" reach dangerously high temperatures that literally are harmful and dangerous. A family vehicle with no ability to open any window on the 2 sliding doors, can lead to very high temperatures even though the front 2 windows open is still not enough for air to reach passengers who sit in the middle-row especially passengers who sit on the 3rd row seat in the back of the van. A recall must be done to adjust the windows on both sliding doors on each side to be able to roll down the windows. . . The temperature trapped inside the vehicle[passengers and seats area] with all the windows open was of 99, on a regular sunny day. . . . We drove to where we had to go and no type of air would reach the back seats where my daughter was sitting. . . She began to have problems breathing and was sweating so much. . I keep her hydrated especially when we have to drive far because the ac doesnt work and we cant roll any window in the back down sin e they dont roll down. . . When iturn on the ac the smell of gasoline begins to come out through the vents. . . My car wasnt included in any recall u had before which my car Nissan Quest sv 2004 clearly shouldve been included for the airbag recall. . . .
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Nissan Quest. While driving approximately 50 mph and slowing down in traffic, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but hesitated to respond. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not informed of the failure. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v076000 (electrical system, fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.
My 2011 Nissan Quest, while driving my van the gas peddle doesn't seem to respond at times. I was almost hit on the highway driving st 65 on a 70 mph, stepping on the gas the peddle would not respond and the speed started to decline. While driving trying to make a left turn stepping on the gas the van wouldn't respond.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. The contact stated that upon inspection it was discovered that the front section of the sub frame had severely rusted. In addition the fuel filler tube had rusted causing fuel to leak from the vehicle while refueling. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer jp motors Nissan(3675 frontage rd. Peru IL) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 114,000. Jft.
The fuel meter don't show the fuel measurement.
There is a fuel system glitch in the software. The car stalls when idling or traveling at speeds lower than 40 mph. It almost always happens at stop lights or stop signs as well. Sometimes the car will not even drive but it will reverse. I am able to reverse out of a parking spot but am not able to drive forward. It it's very inconsistent and will happen frequently for weeks, then go a couple weeks without happening before it starts back again. A message pops up on the screen about a software error when the problem happens. It is the exact problem that has been recalled for the 2011-2012 Quests but my VIN number does not match the recall. I have taken it to get repaired twice and no one could find the problem. After it would not drive at all yesterday, a new mechanic found the problem and the bulletin about the recall but Nissan will not cover it because my VIN number doesn't match.
The van began to sputter and seemingly misfire once shifted into gear. I suspected a case of clogged fuel injectors and pressed firmly with the throttle to clear the line of debris. The van then stalled in the intersection as I was making a left turn, the transmission disengaged itself and provided no gear resistance. Fortunately the timing of oncoming traffic allowed me to coast out of the intersection, using the downward grade of a nearby alley in order to exit the street. Inspection of the van revealed obd ii codes: p0500 and p0720. Further investigation revealed an existing recall for automobiles of this make, model and year, that exhibit the events I have encountered. I believe that recall:12v076000 recall date 02/29/2012 should be expanded to include my VIN due to the similarity of events encountered as well as the hazard thereby created. I am fortunate to have made it through the intersection without getting t-boned. Below are reference quotes and links that further describe the experience and illustrate the identical circumstances that prompted the existing recall. . Read more...
On different occasions, when attempting to drive from 0mph, the vehicle will not accelerate. I have to turn it off then turn it back on then usually it will work. Also sometimes it won't start it turns over strong but will not crank. I'll wait several minutes or so then attempted again then it will crank and drive normal.
I've noticed that in 2016 at about the time I purchased my van it had a jerking whenever you accelerate after coming to a complete stop or even to just accelerate I took it back to the place I got it they test drive the van while I sat in it with them but even then he stated he didn't feel anything so I took it to a firestone shop explained it to them where he took it for a test drive and he saw and felt what I was feeling and he gave me the information to what the was problem I took it back to the place I purchase the car they stated yes it was the problem they changed it but I don't understand why I'm still having the problem and drive it feels like the engine is about to drop out the hood or the transmission I have this issue and it's becoming annoying while driving. I'm paying for this vehicle and I need to get the problem solved. Sometimes I have to take my foot off the gas peddle and allow the vehicle to stop jerking and bucking before I replace my foot to accelerate which then I have to apply lots of gas just so it don't start jerking again.

My van first cuts off in the middle of the road while my pregnant wife was driving. Even though gauge indicates that the fuel was full. Then it cuts off again after the supposed fix by the dealership. Nissan had previously issued campaign id #: p5318 for this problem but as all other customers would note, this doesn't fix the problem even after taken the vehicle to the dealer. We need Nissan to look into this ASAP. Took it to the first dealership where it spend two and half weeks and they couldn't figure out the problem. The second dealership now says I need to replace the entire computer and reprogram which costs thousand of dollars. This is ridiculous!.
Fuel guage-odometer display-tempeture display want read correct------this is causing a problem of never knowing if the car is hot or running out of gas. I need to know how far I have driven in order to change my oil!! driving or sitting still makes no difference.

Though my vehicle was not subject to a recall I had the same issue as the other vehicles that had been recalled. With 40 miles left to go, according to my gauge, my vehicle stalled in traffic, on two different occasions, while turning left into gas stations. When I presented this issue to a dealer and to Nissan America I was told my vehicle was not subject to a recall, even though it was for the same problem and required the same repair as the recalled vehicles. I was charged over $300 for reprogramming my computer.
There have been 3 instances where our van has stalled sitting on an incline with a quarter or so of gas left. There is an open recall for the 2011 Quest but mine doesn't fall under the same manufacture date range. After researching, I found that this seems to be a wide spread problem with the Quest over several years not just 2011. I took it to the dealer to have them research and they said they have never heard of that before. They suggested purchasing a fuel sending unit to fix the problem. If it was just a problem with the gauge then why would the car stall on a hill with plenty of gas left? I am worried about what will happen if I am actually traveling down a hill at speed and my car stalls.
Nissan Quest cluster loses ability to moniter fuel and temperature , which caused me to run out of fuel while travelling at a speed of 55mph. After researching online I see there is a repair but how does the dealer not see an issue with this problem. The lcd screen essentially peel away from the screen due to heat or humidity . I see this as a danger and I feel it puts my family along with others in danger .
Car ran out of gas with gauge reading 77 miles to empty. I have a mailing form Nissan north America, inc-- with my name, address, make and model of car, VIN number -- stating that there is this exact problem and that they will fix the issue at no charge. Yet-- when I talk to the dealership as well as 1800 Nissan1-- both explain that there is no recall on the van at all and that I must pay $130 to have the vehicle looked at and then for the repair. I don't understand how they are not aware of the mailing they sent me. I cannot add the letter to this complaint-- but have it should you wish for me to email it to you or send a photo. I am taking a long distance trip in this van with my 3 children and am very upset. They keep telling me they have no record of this. How is it possible that I have had this same issue and they mailed me the letter informing me of this exact issue? big coincidence? please help.
Strong odor of gasoline inside van. . . I contacted previous owner,he had same issue, told me he had it checked out at a garage, they said no leaks in fuel system,& told him the wind blows the smell into the cab of van. . . . . . . He told me that he would smell gas inside of van when driving with window open,I just had window slightly open, went about a mile,my wife got sick from strong gas odor,so we turned around and headed home. . . . I can not smell due to having my sinuses severed in a motorcycle crash 10 yrs ago,so lucky my wife was with me to smell it,,,I was just about to light a cigar,we would have blown up. . . . . . . . I've had this van for a week now,I never had this issue till now. . . . But previous owner said it happened many times for him,of and on in the 8 years he owned it.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Nissan Quest. The contact stated the vehicle was exhibiting same failures as mentioned in recall NHTSA campaign number: 12v076000 (electrical system , fuel system, gasoline); the VIN was not included. The contact stated the engine would stall. The vehicle would be able to be restarted however when the vehicle was restarted it would be hard to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,499. Mc.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Quest. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken in for diagnostic testing and the result was a possible misaligned crank position sensor. The contact received notification of NHTSA action number: pe14012 (fuel system, other); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was notified, but the contact was not offered a remedy. The failure mileage was 75,000.
While driving on a service road we lost engine power which made steering very difficult and got us almost hit by cars behind us.
There is no accident yet and wish not to happen anything like that. The car's fuel level gauge is malfunction since this month, December 2014 and I got a code for p0462. I found that it is very common troublesome in Nissan vehicles and many of their models are in recall but not 2007 Nissan Quest yet. I also learned that this vehicle is under investigate for this matter. Please process it soon.
My Nissan Quest just started with gas odor.

First time, I was driving on busy traffic and looked at the gas gauge and it displayed another 40-50 miles to gas/fuel empty, but my Quest died as it ran out of gas; I had no warning or light came on. Second time, I was on the freeway driving at 60 mph and looked at the gas gauge and it displayed another 50-60 miles to gas/fuel empty; I felt my Quest was going to stop, so I was lucky to get out of freeway and my Quest died right after (out of gas). For both occasion, I had children on the van and extremely concerned that this issue just happen all of the sudden. For safety concerns, I took my Quest to auto mechanic and they confirmed that the fuel/gauge was not working and got it repaired.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Quest. The contact received a notification for recall from the manufacturer; however was told that her VIN was not included in the recall. The contact stated that the fuel gage sensor did not operate properly and the warning light did not illuminate; the service engine illuminated and did not turn off. The contact failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Bd.
Can not fill up the van whit gasoline, stop fill in ,like if is full, and gasoline gauge indicates wrong reading.
While driving, the car suddenly loses power and comes to a stop. After several attempts to restart the engine I decided to check the mte and gas guage which both indicate there is plenty of gas to continue. I had the battery, alternator and starter checked and they were fine. So I decided to add more gas then shazam it started. Please inform if there's a recall or how to remedy the issue. Thanks.
