At 156k I'm getting told I have to replace my slipping transmission. I just recently had to replace my lower control arms. Diagnosed to replace my cv axle. Also, last year I had to pay to have my seat belts fixed since the rear passenger belts would not buckle leaving serious safety risks for my children.
The transmission is going out and the car is less than 10 years old and it just hit 119,817 miles. I looked at the information on the Nissan Rogue's and it states that the manufacturer had a extended warranty on some of their Rogue's transmissions but not all of them for transmission repair, only some of their Rogues, because they apparently build a crappy transmission. I've looked up this extended warranty and any recall notices here but there are none showing. How do we get Nissan to fix their mess? this is ridiculous! I was driving down the interstate with my 9 month old grandson, when my car lost power and started jerking; I had to pull over and wait until the traffic was cleared so I didn't cause an accident. The car wouldn't go any faster the 18 mph , not a safe place of the older lady and her grandson to be. . Stuck on side of the interstate. After giving the car time to sit for awhile, we were able to get going again, but every time the car went over a certain speed, usually over 60 mph, it would start to jerk again.
Just last week, the rpms on my 2013 Nissan Rogue started going crazy, ramping up and down, the car started jerking -- turns out it was a sign of the transmission slipping -- but it returned to "normal" after a few minutes. We continued driving and were on the highway on our way home when all of a sudden, the car went from doing 65 mph to about 15 mph, even though my husband had his foot all the way down on the gas. It was petrifying as we were on a high-speed highway with a speed limit of 65 mph (with many people doing 80 mph), and in addition to our safety, we were concerned about our unborn baby--as I am 3 months pregnant. Thankfully this happened when we weren't terribly far from home and we were able to make it, riding on the shoulder with our hazards on but it was terrifying and definitely dangerous. The car gave no signs of these issues before and it had just passed inspection 2 weeks prior. The car has 92,000 miles; I bought it brand new in 2013; and it has been regularly maintenanced and serviced throughout the years. The check engine light finally came on close to the end of this ordeal (well after the gas pedal stopped responding) and when we brought it to the repair shop they confirmed it was the cvt--which they said is a known defect with many Nissan Rogues. I was frustrated to find out that a class action lawsuit was settled for 2014-2018 Nissan Rogues for cvt and although this a known defect of the 2013 Nissan Rogue as well, the dealership and the company said there's nothing they can do. Now we're looking at a $4,000+ bill to replace the transmission -- and I'm just praying we never have this issue again because this is our primary car for us, our 2-year-old, and by the end of the year, newborn baby. I was never notified before that this could be an issue but a quick internet search really opened my eyes.
I have a 2013 Nissan Rogue awd sport. There is no single incident. Just the issue of the cvt transmission breaking down every year I've owned this stupid car. Everything is fine. The car is 185k miles and do all the regular maintenance and the car is fine. The only issue is the transmission has literally broken every year and the warranty even covered the first transmission break which happened within 3 months and then less than a year repaired/fixed by replacing the cvt with a refurbished transmission. Then about over a year later had a $2400 repair job on all the gaskets and seals on the transmission because of leaking and slipping. Same issue we'd push the gas and nothing would happen. Here I am about a year later on the dot from the $2400 repair and starting skippin and slipping again and my mother in law took the car to get checked out and it needs another transmission repair probably $1400 at least they won't fully know until they go in and look. 4 repairs in 4 years on the same part , the cvt transmission. Had I known this was going to be a continuing issue like this, I would've purchased a new car instead of going cheap on a used car in decent shape. I research Nissan and transmissions and there's lawsuit cases on the transmissions so apparently its not the old car or anything like that. Its a continuing issue with transmission and they should tell or warn people.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, there was a clicking and rattling noise coming from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that metal fragments were present inside the transmission. No further information was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 46,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 mph, the vehicle made clicking and rattling sounds. Additionally, the vehicle was shaking. The vehicle was taken to three independent mechanics and diagnosed with transfer case assembly - continuously variable transmission (cvt) failure. The transfer case assembly - continuously variable transmission (cvt) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
While driving on the highway the car the vehicle shudders/vibrates and the stops accelerating even when the throttle is pressed to the floor. Example: if I am driving at 80 miles an hour with my foot on the throttle, the vehicle will begin to decline in speed (dropping to 70 or 60 miles an hour) and will not accelerate any faster once additional pressure is placed on the throttle. After thorough review, it was found that this is a common issue with the 2013 Nissan Rogues. According to vehiclehistory. Com, Nissan extended the 2013 Nissan Rogue transmission warranty to 10 years and 120,000 miles for the continuously variable transmission (cvt) in the 2013 Rogue. This site, (NHTSA. Gov) also has multiple complaints regarding the power train on the 2013 Rogues listing the same issues. Upon contacting the regal Nissan dealership located at 1090 holcomb bridge road, roswell, GA 30076, I was informed that there is nothing they could do as a formal recall had not been issued for my specific VIN number. I am currently submitting a claim to the bbb national programs as well.
Transmission stopped working suddenly after pulling onto busy road and I was forced to pull over to shoulder to avoid being hit by other cars.
My 2013 Rogue is having electrical issues and power transmission problems.
Transmission went out and I see many people complaining of the same thing! cvt problems there should be a recall on this transmission!!!!.
When driving home from demark s. C to milledgeville, GA. Last Sunday when around the car stop accelerating and was making a whining noise. . The r. P. M. Meter was over 8 and the speedometer was stuck on 60 m. P. H. This went on for around ten minuets, then started back to normal. This is the second time happened when taking a similar.
Airbag lights randomly came on. I had to look up how to turn it off from youtube and it worked. The transmission slips when hot meaning when I am stopped at a stop light and I go to push on the gas, first gear doesn’t kick in and I cannot operate for 5 seconds then it punches into place. If I am driving nonstop on the highway, the gears will go into over drive or won’t shift over and stay at max 3000rpm so I can only go about 45mph at that time. Everything appears fine until an hour or so into driving. The transmission fluid looks brown and because it’s a cvt transmission, the whole thing would have to be replaced. My dad works on cars and I also had called shops all around my area to simply get a fluid flush. Nissan has recalled their cvt transmission for this year and model in the past. There are no current claims for this year, however I’ve had the vehicle for a year and a half. Because I had my vehicle refinanced, I had lost all warranty benefits, even though I still qualify within that time and miles range.
Vehicle loses power on long er drives and slows speed to unsafe speed on hwys. Rpms go high about 4. Check engine light came on. Code p0744 torque converter clutch circuit power train system.
Starting 9/1/21 there was a delayed and jerking reaction when the gas pedal was pressed from a full stop. This was very dangerous when trying to cross intersections during city driving, as the car behind could not anticipate that our car wouldn’t go and our car was not able to cross intersections at normal speed, putting us in the way of other traffic trying to cross. During highway driving the rpms began to run very high without an associated change in speed, causing the driver to be alarmed. An inspection by our local independent mechanic determined the transmission needs replacement. This diagnosis was then confirmed by our local Nissan dealer. The car is currently available for inspection at the Nissan dealer. There was a check engine or service now light that went on when the car would first turn on, but it would go off when the car was being driven.
Loss of power after driving for an hour or more and going uphill. Rpms will only go to 3000 and unable to accelerate. Driving in heavy traffic going through salt lake city interstate 15, had loss of power and was unable to accelerate as traffic slowed and then sped up again. Just returned from the 2245 mile trip and experienced the problem multiple times. One time was parked in a driveway at a slight decline and was unable to back out of the driveway until I waited for the engine to cool off. I did call my local dealer where it was purchased and they told me it was an underlying issue. Will be scheduling a diagnostic check this coming week. No warning lights on dash, just sudden loss of power.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated to 40 mph. The contact stated that after 30 minutes the vehicle regained normal functions and was able to exceed 40 mph. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
I noticed my vehicle started whining when I would drive up a steep hill. I took it to my mechanic who told me it was the transmission. I then took it to the Nissan dealer who I bought it from who also said I needed a new transmission. My vehicle had 78,900 miles. I called Nissan who was no help at all. The service manager at the the dealership said that they replace about 30 transmissions a month. My cost the the replacement transmission was $4,311. 00.
Cvt transmission and it is available for inspection while traveling on the interstate, on a mild elevation increase, there was an immediate loss of power, dropped from 80 mph to 60-65 mph and the rpms were almost in the red. The vehicle behind us was fortunately paying attention because they changed lanes without hitting us. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer and a third party transmission service center. The Nissan dealership has inspected the vehicle. There were no indications that the problem would happen.
We were driving on a freeway going out of houston with a speed of 75 mph. Suddenly the car slowed down to 45 mph. This almost caused us to have an accident with motorists from behind. We had to drive the car at 45 mph all the way from houston, TX to austin, TX. This was also very dangerous since we had to drive on the shoulder to avoid being rear-ended. This was over two years ago when car had mileage less than 120,000 miles. Nissan refused to replace tranmission (cvt). Their recommendation was to add a transmission cooler. This works up to 68 mph. Over that, computer puts car into "safe" mode (45 mph).
Daughter driving to and from work. Car stalls and will not accelerate. It shakes and whistles. I called Nissan headquarters because I knew other Nissan models have been given a 120,000 mile extended warranty to cover defective transmissions. This particular vehicle is not covered, but on carcomplaints. Com it is one of the worst reported vehicles. My daughter is pregnant. This car is not safe and should be a required fixed by company.
For the last 3 years my car on a hill or incline has stop shifting gears and its getting worse and worse every year. My car only has 101,000 miles! I had it for 5 years, took it to a certified mechanic to hear the transmission is going and there are numerous reports of cvt transmission issues with this SUV. And a loud electrical noise all the time.
I lose power when traveling at high speeds in hot temperatures. I drive on a toll road that is 75mph, when it is hot out I completely lose all power no matter how much I step on the gas. I slowed down to 40 mph on a road that is 75. Please figure this out and get it fixed. It is very scary when people are behind you and almost hit you. I put in 1 date that I remember this happening, but it has happened consistently for about 3 years.
When driving in approximately weather on the highway, we lost all power/pickup and the car wouldn't get over approximately 45mph. This was an extreme safety hazard as the road we were on had no breakdown lane. We were eventually able to pull off the highway and let the vehicle cool for about 20 minutes and then we went backroads for the remainder of the drive. This has happened at least 5 additional times, all when driving on the highway in high temps and when the rpms on the car are higher than 2k consistently. This is so dangerous and I cannot believe that Nissan isn't doing anything to make this safety issue right.
I was traveling on the interstate and the vehicle rpms jumped up to 4k but the vehicle began to slow down. I removed my foot from the accelerator to reduce the rpms and then reapplied the accelerator which increased the rpms to close to 5k but the vehicle continued to slow down. I traveled in the emergency lane until the next exit as the vehicle continued to lose speed down to 20 mph. At the end of the exit ramp, I came to a complete stop and needed to make a left turn. During this turn, the vehicle did not exceed 10 mph even though the rpms exceeded 4k. Once I reached the parking lot of the gas station, I turned the car off. I opened the hood to see if there was anything noticeably wrong and was not able to identify anything. I restarted the vehicle and everything seemed to be functioning fine and was able to complete my trip to my destination. This incident was the second of its type in 2 years. I took the vehicle to a shop for diagnostics as I did the first time. This time the mechanic was able to identify a code that showed an issue with the transmission. I consulted my personal mechanic and was notified of the reported transmission issues with the 2013 Nissan rouge. I then contacted Nissan regarding the issue and was advised that owners would not have been notified of the safety issue and that they could not assist with repairs of the reported safety issue.
My car has not felt the same in a while. I got it tested by a few mechanics and finally got the answer. Car makes a humming sound and feels like it’s not using all its power. The mechanic told me it’s the transmission is starting to go. As I did more research I’m finding that this is becoming a common problem with Nissan vehicle owners from 2010-2016 especially the 2013 Nissan Rogue. The car only has 68000 miles since we purchased brand new in 2013. I do all it’s regular maintenance requirements.
The contact's daughter owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate and vibrate upon depression of the accelerator without warning. The contact then called the manufacturer where he was informed about an extended warranty that had been placed on certain model vehicles for the failure; however, his year vehicle was not included. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.
Cvt transmission failed on me as I was driving luckily no one got hurt and I was able go pull off the shoulder just in time. Three months later I buy a new transmission and car doesn’t not start sometimes after getting it installed. This year and model needs to be recalled now! I’m not the only person who this has happened to. Enough is enough Nissan! it is NHTSA job to make sure the vehicles we are in are safe! I’m so frustrated and confused on why there hasn’t been recalls on this awful issue yet!.
I have a 2013 Nissan Rogue select with 87,000 miles. It shudders/jerks intermittently during idle at drive mode even when ac and fan are off. Upon driving to austin in February, my car began to lose power on a highway with 70 mph limit. The rpm continued to g up , as did the gas gage. I was not able to accelerate. Luckily , I was near an exit and able to coast off to barely make it to the gas station, to allow the car to cool. The temperature gage, never ran hot. Then just last week making the same trip, the same issue, but this time the check engine light came on. This is a dangerous situation where I could be killed, or kill someone else because I am not able to move at the required speed. I thin took it to a Nissan dealer and was told it was the transmission. I filed a complaint with Nissan headquarters. Someone name jeremy called me a couple of days later only to say that the warranty had expired and there was nothing he could do. I even mentioned the class action suit that he said he knew nothing about. This is a defective factory issue and should have been recalled. I do not have the money, nor should I have to pay for something that was an issue that they knew about. I am including pictures of the repairs. I can provide the whole report, but I do not have a scanner at the moment. Also the firm brandsetter, straanch and jennings in tennessee has a class action suit. Please investigate this. Someone is going to be killed, lets not allow it to get to this point. Thanks.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 15 mph. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.
While traveling on highway at 60 mph my daughter turned off cruise control to pass another vehicle and accelerated to pass then returned to the right lane and turned cruise back on. When she did this the vehicle slowed down to about 40mph. She was near an exit so she took it and as she was climbing the hill on the exit the car had lost so much power she was going about 5mph. She made it up the exit and pulled the car over and shut it off. She waited a few minutes and started it again and the car would not move at all until she got it up to about 5000 rpm and then it was only inching forward a little. She let the car sit for about 4 hours and towed it home but by then the vehicle started up and rode up the trailer ramp and then back down the ramp when she got it home just like it was normal.
Vehicle will not get up to speed when driven for a 45 minute period of time and won't allow me to pick. Up to state speed I noticed there's been complaints about this issue due to a low temperature governor on the vehicle and that makes it dangerous for the other people traveling due to that issue I was on the interstate 25 traveling south.
Transmission went out.
I have had problems with this car since the first week I bought it. If it's not one thing it's another. Engine problems, oil leaking problems. Check engine light coming on whenever. Possible oil burning problem. Spark plugs, piston rings, axles, cylinders, mounts. This car is in the shop every other 2-3 weeks. Now it's been in the shop for a month+. It's is crazy that a dealership would sell this vehicle to a customer. There's even this thuddering noise. Things have been fixed and something else went wrong. It's been non stop repairs since day one. It also seems that 2013 Nissan Rogues and had many manufacturer problems and issues. I feel this was damaged car that was never reported and then someone fixed a few fake things and then resold it know this car was no good. When I drive it makes a loud thudder noise, the steering is not smooth. Also one night my car completely stopped when I tried to reverse and red light came on.
I have a 2013 Nissan Rogue. 104,000 mi. I've had about 2 yrs, and took it for oil change and transmission check. It was losing power when I applied the gas pedal. They informed me my only choice was a new transmission. What? why? apparently, this cvt transmission has burned up in my vehicle. Meanwhile, nothing on the dash ever told me I had any problems. Nissan doesn't offer the extended warranty on 2013 Nissan Rogue. They started it in 2014!.
I have had one problem after another and this started right after purchase. A/c compressor went out first, driving down the road, cost $600 to fix. After that, the blower motor burned up while warming up one morning. I started smelling burned plastic, $300 repair. 6 months later, I am spending $4000 to replace the burned up transmission. I went into fail-safe mode while I was attempting to make a turn against traffic. Then I could smell something burned after driving. Now I have just spent another $500 on a new battery and cables and new alternator, only to hear my vehicle still not starting. As I write this, I'm waiting for a call from firestone to now tell me what's wrong with my car and how much this will cost! it is only February, and I have already used my 2 weeks vacation because my car is undriveable. Meanwhile, I still have 2 yrs left on my auto loan agreement. Please help us 2013 Nissan Rogue victims.
