Check engine light came on. Rogue was sluggish with poor acceleration when I would go faster than 50 mph. Vehicle had about 107,800 miles. It was determined the cvt (continuously variable transmission) is the problem, torque converter and left side axle were bad and had to be replaced. Total cost was $3,942. 58. This is a common issue for model year Rogues from 2008 to 2016. However there are no recalls for my 2013 Rogue and I checked my VIN on Nissan's website. I also spoke to a rep at Nissan and she stated that my Rogue is not on the list for any of the technical service bulletins and there are no recalls for my model year Rogue. However she acknowledged that this is a common problem for 2013 Rogues. However, I found a bulletin TSB ntb13-079d that the reduced performance is due to cvt fluid temperature protection logic re0f10a cvt transmission or a bad torque converter which requires the transmission to be replaced. This affects 2008 to 2013 Nissan Rogues TSB ntb14-002d.

Check engine light is on. Rogue is sluggish with poor acceleration when I go beyond 50 mph. Vehicle has about 107,800 miles. It appears that the cvt (continuously variable transmission) is the problem, possible torque converter is bad or the reduced performance is due to cvt fluid temperature protection logic. There aren't any recalls and I checked my VIN on Nissan's website and they state that my Rogue isn't on the list for any of the technical service bulletins. However, this is what I found: TSB ntb13-079d reduced performance due to cvt fluid temperature protection logic re0f10a cvt transmission 2008 2013 Nissan Rogue TSB ntb14-002d problem the reduced performance is due to the cvt fail-safe mode, which will reduce the vehicle speed to protect the transmission from further damage.
When driving uphill the damaged torque converter caused the transmission to badly overheat, only allowing the car to go 40 mph. The torque coverter transmission issues caused the vehicle to become a hazard on the road because of the slow speed.

The vehicle will not go over 40 miles per hour makes a noise check engine light came up took it to the shop he said problem with transmission (torque converter clutch solenoid . . This issue happens when I was driving on the highway with the speed of 70m/h then the car started making the noise and rpm went up to 4 and it wont go over 40 .
On June 12, 2020, while I was driving in I-75 knoxville to chattanooga my Nissan refuce velocity and power automatically without my control stopping. I was placing from drive to park, wait some minutes wuth my energency light on. The traffic was danger behind me. Later the same situation occur in swallford exit 5 on I-75, in that way I suppose tge problem coming in high speed on interstate, because on slow not occur. I was taking my vehicle missan Rogue 2011 iat dealer they thought that tgey needed to reprogrammed the pvc sensor or air flow. Joined to torque converter clutch solenoid circuit. But the diagnosis resulted wirst than it. Dealer said me I needed to replace my transmission. U very uppset with Nissan because this vehicle is not old miles with the change if oil all the time. I change the oil transmission on dealer paid $156. 00 and they told me I need to pay $3820 for transmission. There is somrthing wrong and not ethic with tge customer. The car is a need and the Nissan should be more honest when they check the vehicle the dealers and more when the parts are done to be check or verified in the authorized or certified Nissan mechanics. I ask you for be fair and conscience in my situation because I dont believe in this kind of attention for Nissan towards customer after already paid monthly a vehicle. The recomendation toward this company will be very negative definitively reviews -10.
Vehicle has 149000 miles and machanic said transmisssion needs torque convertor clutch. Is there a recall for this item. Car would not go above 40 mph.
Torque converter malfunction diagnostic code p0744 requiring replacement of transmission at 66,000. Noticed stalling at highway speeds.
2013 Nissan Rogue, 100,000 miles. I was driving the vehicle south down the interstate from charleston to orlando, ~70 mph, driving normally in June 2019. Around the GA/FL border, when I would hit the gas pedal to accelerate, the spedometer wouldn't go higher. The engine would rev, and the rpms would increase to 3-4,000. Happened for about 10 minutes until I got to an off-ramp. After the car cooled down for 45 minutes, we got back on the road since it was a Sunday night in the middle of nowhere GA, kingston to be exact. It drove well for the rest of the drive down to orlando with stops every hour. Same thing happened on the way up from orlando to charlotte, rpms went up, spedometer didn't move. Let the car cool and then it drove fine at lower speeds. Took it to a Nissan dealership when I got back and they diagnosed the transmission as having a faulty torque converter, p0744 was the code that came back. 12 hours of labor, saying they needed to replace the transmission. Found the service bulletin: ntb16-090, and it seems like it's spot on, happened after prolonged driving in high temperatures. After reading the bulletin, it connects the dots for why my engine would sound weird when I was driving in the mountains, the engine would start to sound really trying after some time. Saw that a number of Nissan vehicles have been recalled due to faulty cvt transmissions, and I don't know why Nissan 2013 Rogues have not been recalled yet.
The cvt transmission torque converter clutch experiences intermittent failures when traveling at highway speeds. The vehicle cannot maintain normal highway speeds and slows to dangerously slow speeds for highway driving, forcing the vehicle to pull off. Once stopped, the vehicle sometimes cannot accelerate to even 20 mph. This creates a very dangerous highway situation. I believe there are numerous Nissan models with this exact same problem.

Recall -harness connector (torque converted solenoid circuit intermittent) previous recall wasn't completed properly as I continue to experience intermittent erratic behavior of the power train and related circuitry, two weeks after the manufacturer said they fixed the harness connector inspect and replace recall (rogue connect) that was place on the car. The car jerks uncontrollably when driving at high speed on the highway or hesitates at stop then takes off suddenly at high speed. I like for the manufacturer to look into this and properly address this recall by fixing this issue with this vehicle they built which I still current drive. A diagnostic scan was done at autozone and I was told the torque converter solenoid circuits are intermittent and that it's due to a damaged transmission wiring harness that is either loose or open circuit in the system and may cause a fire.

Vehicle starts running hot after on interstate for approx. 30 min, temp will return to normal if heater is being ran on high. Diagnosis was thermostat needed to be replaced. Vehicle runs hot after thermostat was changed. While on interstate for approx. An hour vehicle still running warm. Temp returns to normal while heater is on high. While on cruise control rpms increased suddenly to 4500 with a speed of 70. Slowed down to 60 and rmps continued to climb to 4500 until I pulled over on the side of the road. Torque converter clutch solenoid failing. Temp fix, sprayed connection cleaner on torque converter clutch solenoid, rpms are still slightly elevated from normal, but manageable for now.
While traveling on the interstate between 70-80mph my vehicle dropped to 60mph and would not accelerate past 60mph, then when pulling off an exit scared it wouldn't go past 20mph. This put my son and I's safety at serious risk with having no control over acceleration. I got to a mechanic which did a diagnostic and told me it was torque converter with transmission. The car only has 65k miles. This is insane to have these issues and clearly this needs to be a recall. I fortunately purchased a transmission warranty. Waiting to see what the total damage is. This should absolutely be a safety recall.

Check engine light illuminated at just over 70k miles with p1740 torque converter clutch solenoid inductive signature. The vehicle was taken for repair, and after inspection it was determined that the materials inside the transmission were deteriorating, damaging the bearings and causing fluid leakage and inadequate pressures in the transmission. This repair is costing almost $3000 and is well before standard expected maintenance schedules for the transmission.
The vehicle was being driven on the highway and the acceleration completely dropped. The car would not go over 20 mph! there was a recall up to 2010 Nissan Rogue for the cvt transmission but doesn't cover 2012. The error was torque converter clutch solenoid circuit intermittent. The Nissan dealership said they don't replace that part and it needs a whole new transmission for $5000. I find it hard to believe other vehicles in 2012 have a recall for the transmission but not the Rogue.
2013 Nissan Rogue. Consumer writes in regards to problem with torque converter.
I was traveling 70 mph on a highway, using cruise, when the engine started racing and the rpm surged. I disengaged the cruise and the rpm's immediately returned to normal. However, as soon as I stepped on the gas, the rpm's again surged. After this happened three or four times, the vehicle would not exceed 60 mph. Fortunately, I was able to exit the highway within a short distance. There was a traffic light at the end of the exit, which was red and I stopped. When the light turned green, my car would not initially accelerate or move. After a short time, the car did then start accelerating and I was able to once again drive. I then stopped at the nearest parking lot. My traveling companion proceeded to find an auto shop that was open, as it was about 7:00 at night. They ran a scan and determined there was a failure with my transmission. I was over 50 miles away from home, on my way to a vacation reservation. Unfortunately, I had to return home. I was able to drive the car on back roads, traveling about 35-40 mph. Since that time I have had a transmission shop and the Nissan dealer also confirm there was a problem with the torque converter and the entire transmission would need replaced. The car had a little over 70,000 miles. I find this entirely unacceptable for a 2012 with that number of miles. Subsequent research has show that Nissan has a history of problems with the cvt transmission. I also found many, many complaints on an array of websites about my particular vehicle having transmission failure at a variety of miles. I also found reports of the transmission failing while traveling at high rates of speed. I did contact Nissan's regional consumer affairs. After jumping through their hoops, I was declined any "good will assistance". This was due to the car's mileage being over warranty and no previously documented issues with my personal vehicle's transmission.
On interstate I 75, car suddenly acted like not getting gas. Slowed down but was still going. I got off and went to an adjacent Ford dealership. The put a computer on it and said it was a torque converter problem. Advised to drive to Nissan dealership. Which I was able to do. They put computer on it and said Ford diagnosis was correct but also a transmission problem. Ref 15-084a. The dealership did mot mention that this was supposed to be a covered repair. Charges would be 3600. +.
When I start my car it makes a rattling sound as if something is hitting the ground. After I drive for almost 45 mins on highway my car speed will all of a sudden come down from 70 mph to 20 mph and then it wont accelerate even. I was about to be hit by a truck on the highway, but somehow I managed to move the car in the buffer. I stood there for 20 - 30 mins and drove again, it was somehow moving. Also if I am uphill the car wont move it will tend to go back. When I tried to accelerate the rpm was reaching till 4 or more, but the car will not move at all. Another incident happened was I was waiting at a red signal. I was the first one in the line, as the signal became green, I removed my legs from brake, the car wont move at all. Even tried to accelerate it somehow was able to reach only till the center of the signal when the signal changed to red. I was in a panic situation, I somehow dragged it to the other side. All this happened only within 2 weeks I bought the car from a Nissan dealer (it was an used car). I took it to the delaer for inspection, they checked my car and gave me error code p0744 (torque converter) and said it can be resolved only by changing the complete transmission and would cost around 5400 dollars. When I asked why they didn't check during safety check in first place before selling the car, they gave me an answer like they cannot find issues in car until its driven on road. Not sure what kind of safety checks the dealers perform then. I could have met with an accident due to this. When I asked them for fixing this they said I should have bought a warranty and its my fault I didn't buy a warranty, and they gave me a car as-is. I told them it was not the question about giving me a car as-is, I wanted to know what kind of security testing they do before giving a car, when they gave as is why they didn't mention about such issues. Please help.
In response to the car shuttering around 25 to 35 mph, we took the car to our local mechanic. He reports that there is a problem with the torque converter and will require a transmission replacement by a Nissan dealer because he was aware of all of the problems that Nissan was having. He informed of of a national recall on earlier models for the same reason. He stated that they clearly have not corrected the problem. With further on-line research, we have confirmed that this is a common problem with the 2011 models.
Wife coming home after dropping daughter off from school, car felt jerky and unstable, pulled into the driveway and engine died. I then started vehicle, shifted into reverse, vehicle died. Tried again and it started, but had lots of hesitation, took to dealership, they had it for 3 working days and could not duplicate the error and no error code, so they sent the vehicle back to us. Next day wife went to pick up daughter from school and while pulling out of the school parking lot, car died and they were almost struck by another vehicle who was traveling at higher speed. Could start the car, but could not shift into any gear without car dying. Once again, no trouble/error codes were being fired off. Took car to dealership where again they tried for 2 days to get the car to act up, until finally it acted up on the freeway where it almost died there. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty torque converter, which requires a full transmission replacement. The vehicle only is 3 years old, with only 75,000 miles on it. This is a safety issue, the car cuts out with little warning at low speeds, meaning especially dangerous when trying to make turns and accelerate into traffic. Additionally, no error codes were thrown at all, and took 6 working days at a dealership to determine the issue. Furthermore, it is sporadic and cannot be diagnosed easily or quickly, suggesting that there is a high potential for this issue to occur with other vehicles and they will be sent back out on the road without having the issue fix, placing people in significant danger. This is the first year of the redesign of the Rogue and one of the first sold in texas, but this is unacceptable and extremely dangerous as there is no way to easily diagnose the issue and how the failure occurs. All recommended services were performed at Nissan dealerships for the transmission as well at 30k and 60k.
Takata recall my 2012 Nissan Rogue shakes and makes a weird noise while driving. Also transmission will go into some sort of safe mode even while driving making my not accelerate making it very dangerous while exiting the hallway. Check engine light came on saying with a code for the torque converter.
I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue and within the past 2 months, I have been experiencing loss of acceleration on a minimal uphill slope. Both times, I was on the expressway driving about 70-75 and my speed immediately decreases to 60 and below. When I pressed the gas pedal to accelerate, nothing happened. My rmps were in the red zone- which has never happened before- and I almost got rear ended by a semi the 2nd time it happened. I immediately pulled off the road and took my car to the nearest mechanic. The diagnosis was a transmission code but because my car has a cvt transmission, he recommended taking it to a Nissan dealership as there has been many reported issues with cvt models, so much so that the warranty got extended. Upon further research, the extended warranty only covers 2003-2010 models. When I called Nissan, they of course told me I was outside of warranty as its only 5 years or 60k miles and outside of the extended warranty. They quoted me at $3600+ tax for a new transmission as they said it was the torque converter that is the issue. There are multiple forums online with story after story of the same issue being experienced by many Nissan drivers yet Nissan fails to take responsibility and address the fact that models after 2010 are experiencing the identical issues covered in the extended warranty. This is not an isolated incident. Nissan is knowingly placing faulty transmission in their vehicles then refusing to cover the service costs due to "expired warranties". Furthermore, lets address the fact that this is a severe safety hazard for drivers. Imagine driving and all of a sudden losing acceleration- will it take multiple accidents and god forbid, deaths, for Nissan and their executives to own up to their mistake? Nissan should learn from Toyota's faulty air bag scandal and rectify the issue immediately to prevent bodily injury to unsuspecting drivers.
We purchased the car as a new car demo. It had about 5000 miles on it. The car ran pretty good for 60/70 thousand miles and then we started noticing that when we went on longer drives(highway), the car would go into a "powerless" state when you stopped or slowed down. We later became familiar with the term "limp" mode or "safe" mode. The transmission goes into these modes when it is overheating. I took it to the dealership when it first happened and they said there was nothing they could do because no computer codes had surfaced for the trouble. This visit was around 80k, well under our 125000 mile warranty. The most recent time was 2014 we went out of town again and the check engine light came on. Being about 400 miles from home, we stopped at a local auto parts store and had them check the code. They told me the clutch/torque converter was making a code pop up. We preceded to drive home and took it to the dealership the next day. At this point we had 119000 miles on it still under the warranty. Thecheck engine light went off before we could get there. The dealership once again said nothing was showing on the computer even though I told them exactly what code I had learned of before returning to the shop. They again claimed to not be able to work on the car without the code. I guess they aren't real mechanics! anyways, we now have 140000 miles on the car and the code is present again and all Nissan can say is it is out of warranty. They offered to give us "employee" pricing on a new car but completely refuse to help with the repair. Doesn't make us feel good about owning another Nissan.
