1 Software problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/19/2021

When purchased 2019 Nissan Rogue, the aeb warning light came on. Dealer said that car freshly waxed & covered sensor. It will away shortly. Several days later, problem existed. Brought vehicle back to dealer. Service tech stated that software was out of date & updated software. 2 days later, aeb warning light came back on, and now vehicle suddenly braked slightly on it's own while driving without any obstruction or interference in the car's path. After googling this condition, I became aware of Nissan's ongoing problem with this make/model. Dealership never made me aware of any problems. Now attempting to make a follow-up appointment with dealership & they leave me on hold & won't help.

2 Software problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/19/2020

The factory-installed navigation system has several issues that make it unusable. These issues include the following: the entire navigation system will randomly restart several times while using it, erasing all trip data; the screen will freeze when trying to use it, making it impossible to change the volume, turn off the unit, or do anything. Brought the vehicle to a Nissan dealership and they denied that the unit had any issues. What's worse is that there are no available navigation or software updates for the 2014 Nissan rouge, and Nissan has no intentions on upgrading anything. The navigation update site says there are no updates available for the 2014-15 Nissan Rogues, but there are several updates available for 2016 and newer models. This is absolutely unacceptable, and has caused several distracting issues while driving or trying to navigate using the built-in navigation that I paid a premium for. Please investigate this further. I'm not sure what else to do. Also, please note that the "when did this happen?" date is irrelevant because this has been an ongoing issue since purchasing the car. I brought the vehicle to the dealership for service about 6 months ago, and they confirmed there was nothing they would do to fix it for me.

Failure Date: 11/18/2019

2019 Rogue emergency braking system has triggered automatically for no reason. Normal travel speeds (apx 30mph) no dangers in front of vehicle but ebs triggered and abruptly brought vehicle to stop. Brought the car into nissain dealer, who "updated software" and had same issue with system triggering a couple of weeks later. Brought back to nissain who replaced the radar system, but after a week or two, the dashboard light signaling there was something wrong with the system began to blink again every time the vehicle was turned on.

6 Software problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/28/2019

My new Nissan Rogue has only 356 miles on it . Universal Nissan sold it to me and the car's computer seems to be malfunctioning. It seems to be a hardware issue and not a software issue as they tried updating the software with no success. They were unable to fix the auto safety brake. It does not work for front pedestrians or rear pedestrian safety. The vehicle also does not apply the brakes in times of emergencies as it is advertised to do so. I have almost been killed in the car because the computer is malfunctioning and speeding up instead of applying the brakes. The car is a deathtrap. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs, they said I have to talk to the dealership. I also received a mild concussion when the lift-gate smashed down on my head after I was checking out the trunk. The lift-gate was opening on its own while I was driving on the freeway. When I stopped to close it, it came down and smashed me in the head before I even activated it. Also, the car is burning gas quite rapidly. I am getting less than 16 miles to the gallon, and this is mostly freeway driving, even though it is advertised at 26 city, 31 hwy. . Universal Nissan told me that I have to put high leaded premium gas or I will not get good mileage, but I don't think that is correct. There was also a mysterious fire burn beneath the car when I purchased it. I brought the Nissan Rogue in to be checked by universal Nissan service, and they kept the car for four days. They were unable to fix the car's computer. The pro-pilot assist steering correction, doesn't work because Nissan's custom leather steering wrap for this model of Rogue interferes with the steering correction, you have to constantly squeeze the steering wheel to the point of exertion. I asked universal Nissan to refund my money, but they have refused .

9 Software problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/07/2019

Bought this car be with 42 miles on it. About a month after I bought it the aeb system started activating and slamming the brakes when nothing was in front of me. I had never had a car with this feature before. I later got a notice to bring it in to a deal for an update before the warranty went out. The car is now out of warranty and has begun doing the same thing again. I was driving 65 on the interstate with no traffic or obstacles in front of me. The warning system went off then immediately activates the brakes slowing me down to 40 miles an hour. Thankfully the car behind me was able to react in time to swerve and miss me. I got tje one finger salute from the driver of that vehicle. It is now happening more and more frequently. I was told by dealer that since it is out of warranty I would have to pay for another update. I can't afford to pay that right now. Anyway this is a safety issue that should have been corrected when they did the first update on the aeb software. Purchases from benton Nissan in bessemer, al but have had all service performed by sierra Nissan of sylacauga,al. But I have quit utilizing serra nissa since they put the wrong type of oil in my car and refuses to fix the problem even though they admitted to the mistake also it was printed the servive receipt as proof that they oil they uses was incorrect.

10 Software problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/08/2019

Aeb activates when driving causing vehicle to stop suddenly for no reason. There is nothing to trigger this, vehicle just stops. This has happened 5 times to me. Nissan sent out a notice that there was a software upgrade available to eliminate this from happening. Once software was upgraded, happened 1 time again as I approached railroad tracks. . Took to dealer, vehicle currently has 12,700 miles, dealer unable to duplicate problem. Nissan has acknowledged "no fix" and to return to dealer if problem occurs again. Have filed a complaint with Nissan consumer affairs case #35496726, with no satisfactory resolution. Do not feel safe driving this vehicle.

11 Software problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/01/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. While operating the vehicle, the brake assist randomly activated and caused the vehicle to decelerate and/or stop. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a representative was sent to examine the vehicle at priority Nissan (6390 richmond rd, williamsburg, va). The front sensors were replaced and a software update was performed, but the failures continued. Also, while in reverse, the rear sensors malfunctioned and failed to alert that a second vehicle was positioned in the rear, which could cause the driver to back into another vehicle. In addition, while driving with the cruise control engaged and set at 55 mph, the speed would increase on its own while driving on a curved road. The cause of the failures was not determined. The failure mileage was 5,000.

12 Software problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/28/2018

Beginning in November of 2017, acceleration began to have issues. When accelerating, the car would drag and hesitate before fully dropping into gear. All other components worked fine. I would allow the car to heat up 10-15 minutes in the morning and that did not help. Shortly after, each time I step on the gas, the engine revs tremendously despite the slightest acceleration. The pin will not move then move quickly causing a grinding/buzzing sound between 2k & 3k before feeling like it drops I tom gear, even at 15-25mph. This problem continues, but the cause can no to be diagnosed. In January of 2018, the warning lights on the dashboard came on and the car lost acceleration. Upon taking it to the mechanic, I was told everything tested fine, the software simply needed to be reset. After resetting, the light has not returned, but the acceleration issue has not changed. In March of 2018 after experiencing another abrupt slow-down on a side street, I parked the car and smelled a burning of some type of fluid upon getting out of the car. Once the initial smell dispersed, no sign of damage, leaking, or other issue was present. In April of 2018, no further acceleration issues have occurred, but the warning lights again came on. Again, nothing was diagnosed, it was said there was some type of software issue and simply needed to be reset again. Shortly after, the ac unit completely stopped working. I turned off the car, restarted and the system came back on, but no matter what blows out hot air which is hotter often than if the heat is turned on full blast. The car has been well maintained and undergone regularly schedule maintenance and has 84k miles. My mechanic ran the VIN and there's were no open recalls, however, the car was just diagnosed with an electrical issue. .

13 Software problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/04/2017

When you cross over railroad tracks that have overhead electrical power; ie. Commuter rail tracks in urban / suburban markets; the front end collision camera thinks you are about to have a "front end" collison, even though there are no objects in front of you. The SUV will stop dead in its tracks and the stall out. When first reported to Nissan in early December , 2017 they stated that I was only the 4th case nationally to report this & the first the dallas, TX general market area. After much discussion, they pulled my vehicle in mid-January and provided a rental car. They claimed there was a software glitch that has only been reported in the same make, model & year as my SUV. They believe the front end camera is not properly insulated from the over head electrical magnetic field generated by overhead power lines on the rail tracks. My SUV has stalled out twice at the same rail crossing. Last week I was informed there were over 40 cases nationally reported and about 5 cases in the dallas market, including fort worth. They further stated that several vehicles are more "occurances" than mine. Neither the dealership or niussan themselves will not communicate any opinions in writing to me. This is my open case #29462113, vaughn kerkorian. You may contact Nissan at 1-800 Nissan-1, #7. My number is 860-944-3001,or vaughnkerkorian@gmail. Com. I have not had the use of my vehicle for almost 50 days. In my opinion Nissan has been both vague & evasive with their response and course of action. In addition, they are not sure if this problem at all. My concern is; "if Nissan can not validate the problem; how can they validate the fix and will it work"?.

14 Software problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/10/2017

Nissan's intelligent key system automatically locks the car when a door is shut, even though the key is inside. We have had this happens two times this week. Maybe the latest version of their car software? we just got that updated. My wife unlocks all doors, opens passenger car door, puts purse with Smart key in passenger seat, shuts door, opens rear passenger seat door, puts son in car seat, shut door and boom, car locks itself. Two times. Fire department had to come.
