1 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/10/2026

Issue: garage caught fire. All wood (trusses, joists, walls) were in tact. Estimated in tact amount=99%. The vehicle was completely consumed. The hood melted, plastic, seats, tires consumed. Car was not driven day of incident. Origin was attributed to garage. Cause was undetermined by fire department. Report does not today address the vehicle in any way shape or form. There is no documentation as to what was seen upon removing garage doors. Had the can already been consumed? did vehicle initially encapsulate the fire prior to moving into garage structure? it is speculated that NHTSA part 573 recall report 22v-875 may be applicable when viewed from design engineering point of view and not strictly to only vehicles addressed by Nissan in that report. There were no prior warnings of any kind that foretold the ensuing events. I am trying to get the fire department to amend report to record stated belief of fire origin (vehicle) which is not today evidenced in the report and as per the stated opinion by one of the fire fighters. I am further insisting that the insurance company assign a forensic expert in evaluating the origin and cause of the fire. Nissan has not been notified to date. I am imploring NHTSA to take this apparent prior documented safety issue further beyond what has been concluded in order to prevent any future safety issues should it so be judged by NHTSA as the authority in these matters.

2 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/28/2026

Component/system: the fire department determined the cause of the fire to be accidental due to an electrical malfunction within the vehicle. The most extensive damage was located in the engine compartment, though damage spread to the passenger compartment as well. The vehicle is available on request. The vehicle caught fire while parked on a street. No injuries or displacements occured. However, the vehicle became "well involved" with fire, creating an active emergency that required emergent fire department response and suppression. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? since the vehicle receive so much damage, it would only be the emergency response and origin determination by lubbock fire rescue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle was inspected on-scene by lubbock fire rescue (unit e7). The fire department noted no signs of vandalism or tampering, concluding the cause was accidental. The police was also on the scene as well. Were there any warning messages? the owner stated they had driven the vehicle around 20:30 (8:30 pm) the previous evening and it had been parked since. The fire did not break out until approximately 05:13 am the following morning. There wasn’t any warning lamps or unusual symptoms l present during or prior to that final drive. Summary: on may 28, 2026 the 2018 Nissan Rogue internally combusted. Subsequent inspection of the vehicle revealed fire damage in both the passenger compartment and the engine compartment, with the most severe and extensive damage concentrated in the engine bay. Fire officials found no evidence of tampering or vandalism. Based on the burn patterns and origin point, lubbock fire rescue determined the cause of the fire to be accident al, resulting from an internal electrical malfunction within the vehicle.

Sometimes the door stays locked, door latch stays locked and causes door to not close.

6 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/16/2026

I own a 2022 Nissan Rogue with approx 71,139 miles on. While driving on the freeway at 65mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power and became disabled. Prior to the failure, the vehicle did not dispaly an overheating warning, coolant warning, or other indication the engine was overheating or experiencing coolant loss. The vehicle was being driven normally and was on the way to routine maintenance and fuel stop when the failure occurred. An independent repair facility diagnosed coolant intrusion into the combustion chamber and determined the engine had overheated and required replacement. The vehicle's sudden loss of propulsion occurred without warning creating a safety hazard for myself and my daughter as I was forced to coast to a stop in the gore area of the freeway just as you entered the [xxx] from [xxx] due to the inability to maintain speed on the freeway. This was the safest area for us to park but it was terrifying as cars zoomed past us from both sides. I am concerned that the engine failed without adequate warning to the driver and that similar complaints have been noted by several others describing the same issue with the same year, make and model as my car. Multiple reports have said it occurred while on the freeway, making this a greater concern for safety. I took my car to Nissan who stated they see the coolant intrusion, but that it was not covered under recall. I asked what caused the internal leak, to which they replied that would require them to take apart the engine to examine further at my cost. I advised the issue with the car not indicating it was even out of coolant to cause it to overheat was concerning because even if I replace the engine, if the electrical failure isn't addressed I could run into the same issue and this time actually get into an accident that could cause death or serious injury. My car is still at Nissan mission hills dealership and available for inspection upon request. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

7 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/15/2026

The driver-side door and left rear passenger door do not properly lock or unlock using the key fob. This is a consistent issue and creates a safety concern because the doors may remain unlocked while the vehicle is in operation. This malfunction poses a potential security and passenger safety risk. Manually locking and unlocking the doors while entering, exiting, or operating the vehicle is inconvenient and could create hazardous situations. No warning lights, alerts, or diagnostic messages have appeared related to this issue. The vehicle is less than four years old and has been maintained under normal operating conditions. A failure involving the power door lock system should not occur at this stage of ownership.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/20/2026

My vehicle is included in the correct year range and shows the same symptoms as NHTSA id number: 16v911000. The airbag light is also on and I am worried that it will not operate properly in an accident. I contacted the local Nissan dealer and they said there were no recalls on this vehicle. They also told me that no recalls had been completed on my vehicle. I am concerned that they either missed some vins in the recall or that they have incorrect information. Nissan was not willing to help, I also contacted their consumer affairs.

13 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/17/2026

The passenger compartment doors locking mechanism can fail to operate properly preventing access to the the car through the external handles and can cause hanging if inside the cabin requiring multiple pulls to get the door to unlock. When the lock toggles are not completely in the locked or unlocked position, the solenoid will still function but will not unlock/lock the problem door. If the door has the child lock is activated and the locking mechanism is bound up because of the toggle, this creates an entrapment issue if you don't know what is going on. Yt link: https://youtube. 14 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/14/2026

Our front and backup camera do not work. We took it to a Nissan dealer on April 20, 2026, and was advised that the avm control unit has to be replaced. They found and recommended: "all system scan found avm missing from dtc sheet. Performed can diag found avm offline. Rec replace avm control unit. " research shows that there is a defect in the rear wiper grommet or seal allowing water to enter the liftgate, contributing to the overall failure of the rear hatch components - water corroded the rear backup camera unit.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/14/2026

16 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/09/2026

The 2020 Nissan Rogue as I was driving, started smoking, then stalled. I immediately got out and popped the hood and there was flames everywhere. Entire engine bay burned. I saved the car from burning completely by dumping water. As I was in a national forest, that is very acceptable to wildfires. Fire department and fire investigator came out. Fire investigator said it was of his opinion that it started on the passenger side, electric cooling fan for the radiator. Which I agree after looking at the aftermath and noticing where to fire was coming from as I was putting it out.

17 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/06/2026

Three out of the four door lock actuators have gone bad. It’s the front driver side door, rear driver side door, and rear passenger side door. That’s not normal wear and tear, that’s a defect and it’s a safety issue.

18 Electrical System problem of the 2026 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/05/2026

I am reporting a recurring safety issue with the vehicle’s auto engine stop/start system. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine sometimes shuts off normally (other time only the auto-brakes engage, but engine stays on), but then the system behaves unpredictably. The engine attempts to restart with a violent jolt, causing the entire vehicle to shake. This occurs even when I am fully stopped with my foot on the brake. It feels like the vehicle is trying to lurch forward or restart against resistance. The issue is repeatable, happens in normal driving conditions, and creates a safety concern because the sudden jolt can startle the driver, cause unintended movement, or lead to loss of control in traffic. I believe this may indicate a defect in the auto?engine?stop system, engine mounts, starter system, or related control modules. Please investigate, as other owners may be experiencing the same unsafe behavior.

19 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/02/2026

I told the dealership that there were recalls on my car, but because they can’t find it in the system they’re saying that there are no recalls. I did check the NHTSA website and the recalls are still not showing up, but aaa has me down for five recalls. I have all the information on them. I would like the dealership to at least look into them because I don’t feel safe driving my car. .

23 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/26/2026

The vehicle became inoperable at high speeds on the interstate, I-65. My husband was able to safely merge to the right shoulder to avoid any crashes. The car made some loud clunking sounds before all power was lost. The car was then towed to the nearest Nissan dealership. It took 3 business days for the dealer to look at the car. The entire engine needed to be replaced. The dealership was able to replace the engine and complete quality assessment/drive and this was completed 4/16/2026. Because this was part of a trip interruption, the dealership is over 150 miles away from my home. I am still not reunited with my car. I have been without this vehicle for 25 days.

A key has to be inserted in the car or manually locked for it to be locked.

28 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

Related to recall 22v-024 (campaign r21b9), main harness in electrical system has been corroded by chronic water intrusion into the vehicle. Water intrusion caused by defective drain plugs in front and rear of vehicle, prone by design to clog over time. Service advisor at stelly Nissan of yorktown heights has quoted me up to 10k in repair to fix components, which is not the fault of the vehicle owner. Said advisor just passed this vehicle for nys inspection on February 18th, 2026. Similar to above-cited campaign, electrical components in the vehicle have started to fail, e. G. Radar system/lane departure, tps, cameras and climate system. Vehicle now at risk for safety. *please note: year of manufacture: 2014 place of assembly: smyrna, tennessee. Recall population failure. " "my 2014 Rogue, built in smyrna, TN, is exhibiting the exact electrical connector corrosion and 'wicking' failure described in recall 22v-024. The current VIN population for this recall is insufficient and fails to include all affected vehicles from the smyrna plant, leaving a documented fire hazard unaddressed. A clerical omission of your VIN does not mean the safety risk isn't present. The fact that my 2014 smyrna-built Rogue has the exact defect described in the recall proves the NHTSA recall population is inaccurate for my vehicle. Nys consumer protection: under the nys attorney general's consumer frauds bureau, a manufacturer cannot ignore a known life-safety defect (fire risk) based on a clerical technicality when physical proof of the defect is provided. Dealership quoted $10,000 to repair a harness failure that is identical to the one covered under recall 22v-024.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/04/2026

While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue (approximately 51,000 miles), the vehicle completely lost all electrical power twice. The first incident occurred on Wednesday while stopped at a traffic light, and the second occurred on Friday afternoon after parking the vehicle; in the second instance, it would not start and had to be towed to the dealership. Prior to the failures, the vehicle displayed cvt malfunction and mil (malfunction indicator lamp) warnings, which the dealership was made aware of. When the vehicle was brought to the dealership (keating Nissan), they identified a fatigued negative battery terminal and cable assembly as the cause. They performed a temporary adjustment, but stated that the repair is not permanent and may require replacement. Only days before these incidents, the dealership performed a multi-point inspection where the battery was marked as passing inspection. Because the vehicle lost all power while driving, this was a serious safety concern, putting me, passengers, and others on the road at risk. The vehicle can be inspected by the dealership upon request. I do not feel confident that the root issue has been permanently resolved, and I am concerned given the age and mileage of the vehicle that such a failure occurred so early. I would appreciate assistance reviewing this situation, confirming the appropriate permanent repair, and advising on options for support given the safety concern.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/02/2026

I am writing to formally document my experience with the service performed at Nissan heights following a recall repair on my vehicle. My vehicle was brought to Nissan heights on Monday, March 2, for recall service related to NHTSA recall #22v-024 (Nissan recall #r21b9) involving the wiring harness. I dropped off the vehicle early that morning with the expectation that the recall work would be completed properly and that the vehicle would be returned in good working condition. After the recall inspection and service process, I was informed that additional components needed to be replaced the engine control module (ecm), and the body control module (bcm). The cost of replacing these components was several thousand dollars. Based on the nature of the recall and the research I conducted regarding this issue, these failures appear to be directly related to the wiring harness recall. However, Nissan heights informed me that these repairs were my responsibility. In order to retrieve my vehicle, I proceeded with the repairs and paid the required amount after 8 days. When I picked up my vehicle, I later discovered that certain parts had not been properly reassembled before the car was returned to me. I did not immediately notice this until I was already driving home. Because I had to go to work, I was unable to return to the dealership right away and had to make an additional trip back to Nissan heights so that the issue could be corrected. More concerning, after further inspection of the vehicle, I discovered that a significant amount of what appears to be an acidic grease or liquid substance had been spilled over the exterior of my vehicle. This substance was present on the roof, sides, and doors of the car and appears to have caused damage to the paint. This damage was not present prior to leaving the vehicle at the dealership. The most likely explanation is that the substance came from another vehicle positioned above mine while it was stored or servic.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/27/2026

On Friday my car wouldn’t start. I put in a request for aaa to come out and do a battery test. The technician comes out and hooks up my battery to the portable box and it still didn’t have the power to crank the car. The car turned on and was clicking it didn’t have enough power to actually start the car. My dad came and gave me a jump Saturday morning, and said he thinks I needed a new battery. I drove to advanced auto by my house had them perform a battery test and the told me the battery was complete shot. I had to spend $300 on a new battery. After I left there and got onto rt 70, the thermostat in the corner of the dash, the needle started moving up more towards the hot once I accelerated to 50 mph. The way home was a night mare as the car started to lose power, check engine light came on then the check oil light. At this point my car is jerking across the intersection where I had to put on my hazards and barely made it home. It’s weird this all happened within a day and so sudden. I got notification about the recalls and was thinking this is all related. Monday morning 3/3 I get the car towed to Nissan on rt 37, where the told me I needed a engine but not due from the recall. The recall was for oil temp and the car has a coolant leak that leaked on the engine and I would have to pay out of pocket. I asked for the report they haven’t sent anything over yet. I bought that car from carvana last March on the 17th, so it hasn’t been a year and they told me I’m out of my warranty’s at 71 thousand miles. I feel so defeated as I’m paying 500 a month for this is car and haven’t had it for a year. I’m reaching out to file a complaint or to see if there’s anything I can do on my end. With the coolant leak, I’ve never had any issues with the car prior as it drove regularly and never saw any residue on the ground. Nissan representative said she’s working with her manager to see if they can do a good will.

32 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/27/2026

The vehicle is experiencing a serious door locking malfunction. Even after the car is locked, the doors repeatedly attempt to lock again every few seconds. During this time, the horn sounds and the lights flash continuously, as if the vehicle is trying to re-lock itself but failing. This behavior continues repeatedly. This issue raises serious safety concerns for the following reasons: •the vehicle may not be securely locking. •the repeated locking attempts may indicate a failure in the door lock actuator or body control system. •the malfunction could potentially cause the doors to unlock unexpectedly. •the constant horn and light activity drains the battery and creates public disturbance. The problem occurs intermittently but frequently enough to cause concern. There have been no recent modifications made to the vehicle. I am requesting that the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) investigate this issue to determine whether it is a widespread defect affecting other 2015 Nissan Rogue vehicles. Vehicle details: •make: Nissan •model: Rogue •year: 2015 •mileage: 127,000 miles •VIN: [xxx] thank you for your attention to this matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

33 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/27/2026

I am writing to formally notify NHTSA of a serious safety incident involving my 2013 Nissan Rogue. My vehicle experienced an electrical fire while parked in my driveway following heavy snowstorms and road salt exposure. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the incident. My insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. There were no warning lights or other symptoms prior to this incident. Researching this failure, I discovered NHTSA safety recall no. 15v032000, which states that moisture and road salt may reach the driver-side wiring harness connector, causing corrosion and potential electrical short circuits that can result in a vehicle fire. My incident aligns exactly with the circumstances described in this recall. A VIN search on NHTSA indicates no open recalls, however, a plethora of complaints have been filed by owners of this make and model and there is technical documentation confirming that corrosion-related electrical fires have occurred across this model and generation. This fire posed a serious risk of injury or death.

34 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/27/2026

I took my Rogue into a mechanic shop for a juddering/grinding noise when turning at low speeds. Upon further investigation, the mechanic found a recall (ntb20-069) for the awd. This recall is the exact issue I am currently having with my car and they are stating there is no open recall on my VIN. I am writing in to note that the issue applies to more cars than just the ones on the bulletin. They also repaired a recall for the automatic braking system 6 years ago. The system was replaced but only lasted 5 years because that is when they assumed the 100,000 mile warranty would be over and owners would need to pay to replace it.

Vehicle will come up with a collision warning and tell you to refer to the owners manual. And then tells you to pull over and shuts off the vehicle. After 10 seconds vehicle starts up again and drives. My wife it have been seriously injured or worse had others in the road not been paying attention. No check engine light. Researched multiple people online with the same issue. Vehicle needs to be recalled. This is a dangerous safety issue.
