36 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/15/2025

Dash screens have gone totally black with no info being displayed while driving at interstate highway speeds. Displays stayed totally black for about 10 minutes and the came back on. *steering assist activated without any warning without cruise being turned on causing me problems when trying to change lanes. *with the cruise control not being selected, the vehicle suddenly started to accelerate until I applied the brakes and slowed the vehicle. Not reliable. On a recent return trip, the system had us locked on a location we were at possibly 8 hours earlier. The gps never updated as we came home driving thru west virginia, delaware, maryland, pennsylvania, & finally new jersey. *radio constantly displays a message that no receivable stations are available when we select the am or fm bands, but satelite radion is available. Although the radio problems are not a safety issue, they are a nuisance when traveling and trying to listen to local stations for road and weather reports. *recently occurring problem with the cargo door suddenly closing while we are loading/unloading the cargo area. Have had the vehicle back to the dealership many times for these problems with no resolutions to these recurring problems. We had opened a case#[xxx] with Nissan north America, but it was closed back in mid march2025 when we thought the problems were resolved. The re-occurring problems caused us to open a new case#[xxx] with Nissan north America. We want Nissan to buy back or replace this vehicle since they cannot resolve the stated problems. 38 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/07/2025

Vehicle has a habit of losing speed, even on cruise control, when going more than 70 mph for extended times and dropping below 60 when doing so on interstate with no warning lights or system notifications. The most recent occurence was on Saturday, June 7th when driving on the interstate and cruise control engaged at 73 mph when it cut off, dropped to just below 60 without warning and would not accelerate back when pedal completely depressed and then ac system started blowing hot air and compressor would not kick back on. First attempted to check freon and those levels are not the issue- air blows but blows hot without cooling at all. This did occur in sustained temps in the low to mid-90s.

41 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/13/2025

Component failed: cvt available for inspection: yes 2019 - vehicle stopped responding when pulling out of my driveway. My car was going backwards and I had no control. I had to turn vehicle off and on again to fix this. Had inspection and diagnostics at Nissan dealership. They reprogrammed engine control. 2020 - vehicle was at stop light and started shaking. Then it stopped moving. I had to restart it. Had inspection done at dealership. Found no issue. 2023 - notified about recall, but when contacting dealership they said there was no recall. 2025 - when driving on highway car started slowing down. Hesitates and struggles to accelerate. This was dangerous because speed limit was 65mph, but my car was struggling to go 40mph. Started making loud noise when trying to accelerate. Took to mechanic, and found out this is issue with cvt, referred to service bulletin reference number ntb18-077b. Recommended going to dealership as service bulletin has been out since 10/2019. Again received communication there is recall for my Nissan Rogue sport. Called Nissan dealership and they stated there is no recall. I have appointment diagnostic inspection scheduled for tomorrow morning.

43 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

Car was driving fine went into a store came out a couple hours later car wouldn’t start. After jump starting it check engine light is on and awd system failure reads across the dashboard. The 2 back doors no longer lock/unlock unless you do it manually. Drove car home it is now shifting funny like a hesitation or slipping feeling while driving. There’s a little over 15k miles on it.

44 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

I have experienced unusual engine noises, rough engine performance, illumination of the malfunction indicator light (mil), and warning messages displayed in the instrument cluster. The engine has failed while the vehicle was in motion, resulting in a loss of motive power twice, once on the highway. I have been to the dealership mechanic 3 times with this issue, the first occurred prior to the recall coming out. The last time I was told to pay for a diagnostic or they would not be able to help me; I paid and was told they could not find anything relevant to my issue. I was just told that there was no further information occurring from this recall. I feel as if the car is almost undrivable. It is definitely unsafe and unreliable. And a car constantly revs at 6000 rpm's prior to switching gears if it switches gears. At this point I don't know what to do and regret buying a Nissan as they won't even help.

45 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/28/2025

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 70 mph. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated and stalled with a whistling sound coming from underneath the hood. The contact coasted to the side of the road to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the dealer was unable to inspect the vehicle until the impact bar was repaired due to the vehicle being rear-ended by another driver, and because the vehicle had a salvage title. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,490.

46 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/12/2025

With no prior warning or issues while driving on the freeway the rpm’s on my car just went in the redline and the car just lost power and I had to pull to the side of the road and that was that. Had to tow it home and it has not moved on its own since. Had it towed to dealer it’s a transmission failure. Total cost of repair $8500 and I’m at 131000 miles so past any extensions even purchased the extended warranty to 100000 miles when I bought it new for $40000.

47 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/06/2025

Traveling on highway in washington DC, cruise control shut off and powered down car, electrical warning for rear doors not closed, seat belt and airbag warnings. Engine lights came on by the time we got into NY, gas fumes in cabin, and oil was down 2 quarts. Car would not go over 40 at times. Car has been at dealership for over 65 days with work done to turbo, cvt transmission, bearings, leaks in headliner, oil consumption and electrical issues, etc. Nca and bbb claims filed, only given some of the work orders as dealership and nca refuse to provide anything. Defect form sent to nca as well. Independent mechanic also reviewed car after it was initially returned to me for less than a week. Mechanic supplied a write up and pics confirming the transmission and oil leaks as well as leaks in engine and electrical issues were not resolved. In addition, the car now has water leaks on headliner and it smells moldy. Please note: this site only allowed me to add 1 document. I can provide all documents if you provide an email or link to do so. Thank you.

48 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/03/2025

There's a delay when pressing the accelerator pedal. This happened once and I took it to the mechanic. He mentioned that the cvt transmission code came up. He did maintenance work on the car on 12/10/24. Oil was changed and everything else he said needed to be done. He also mentioned that some Nissans had that problem with the cvt transmission. It happened again yesterday. Upon looking into it online, there's a few other Nissan vehicles with this problem. This is a very dangerous situation. The first time it happened, I was with my family on the highway and I was unable to accelerate. My family got very nervous. Thankfully, I was able to pull over to the shoulder. That's when I took my car to the mechanic immediately. Yesterday I was picking up my daughter from school and the same thing happened. I had to put my emergency lights and stay in the middle of the road until the car accelerated again.

51 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

I believe my cars computer is being hacked. Some things I’ve noticed are stereo issues the volume goes up and down or the music skips intermittently. Some times the music turns off. The collision symbol prompts on the dash. Acceleration issues. Antilock breaks don’t work, sometimes. Safety features are being turned off. My maps goes offline. My update for maps in nebraska isn’t listed but all the other states are listed. Awd button doesn’t work, sometimes. I am worried for my safety. I took it to Nissan and they updated the sonar component system. It helped some. Stereo issues are still present. Music is still turning off by itself. Volume is still going up and down and the radio not a cd is skipping intermittently. Nissan stated they have no testing to see if any malware has been installed. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs. They are chosing to do nothing at this time.

52 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/30/2024

Forward collision system turns off while driving causing vehicle to randomly jerk an slow down in traffic. Taken the vehicle in 4 times to have them look at and service center refuses to help me an give me any information on when there will be an update. Received an email for a recall made an appointment for said recall arrived at shop and my service was refused. Asked for documentation on service being refused an got told they could not give me that. After an hour of debating finally receive paper. Leaving store once again my cruise control turned off an vehicle jerks. All this has taken place at billion nissian in sioux falls. They are unwilling to assist me in anything for my vehicle. Have documented proof of all occasions and I am still refused service from the shop.

53 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/28/2024

While driving 55 mph and coming to a four way intersection the automatic braking system engaged and momentarily applied the brakes. This did not cause an accident because it was brief. It would have caused a serious accident if I were on ice, or turning, or several other situations. The dealerships I called said they new of no such problems with tis model. Yet it's a well documented problem with this model. The warning lamp came on after the incident and comes on often. The problem has not been checked by a dealer since they say it is normal and want to charge to check it out.

54 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/23/2024

I took my car to the Nissan dealer because sometimes when I am stopped with my foot on the brake the engine will start to accelerate trying to overcome the brake. The only thing I can do to stop this is turn off the engine. This has happened 4 times in the last month and not before. The dealer was unable to find anything wrong and could not duplicate this action. I have now been referred to Nissan consumer affairs, bureau of automobile repair, new motor vehicle board and now your agency, I feel that this vehicle to drive because it could cause damage to me, my car and the the public. The last time this occurred I was stopped coming out of shopping center waiting for the traffic to clear when the car started accelerating which would have pushed me into the oncoming traffic. Hopefully, you'll be able to help me as now of the above mentioned agencies have been able to help. The only date I can give you for certain was 12/23/2024.

55 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/23/2024

1/2024 car loses power going from 70mph to about 40mph - dealership adjusted transmission fluid, 12/2024 started having power issues again dropping from 40mph to 20mph. Dealership said they couldn't do anything until it starts happening more frequently. So I'm suppose to just drive it with a potential crash that could hurt or kill someone. Not acceptable, Nissan needs to recall 2012 Rogues due to transmission issues before someone gets killed.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer approved the recommendation by the dealer and the contact was informed that the shift gear lever would be replaced. The contact also was informed by the dealer that parts for the gear shift leaver were not available and were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 46,200.

57 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/03/2024

On December 3, 2024, the transmission on my 2017 Nissan Rogue would not shift out of 2nd gear. I was driving home from work on a crowded freeway. When the traffic subsided, I could not make my vehicle drive faster than 20mph. I exited the freeway as soon as I could and pulled over to call the auto club for a tow. The tow truck driver said that this is a known condition with this model of transmission. My vehicle had 71,000 miles and had been properly serviced and I have the records to show it. The service at the dealerships were closed so I had it towed within the mileage range so it would not cost me anything through aaa. The mechanic kept my car for a week and replaced the transmission valve body which cost me $1871. 68. I called Nissan hq and spoke to a customer service rep, customer service supervisor, and the executive office for Nissan. All three company representatives would not reimburse me because I did not go to a dealer for repair. I explained that I was stranded, barely outside of warranty by time or miles (I had purchased an extended warranty which expired 5 months prior. ) I feel the transmission failing with such a young vehicle is a safety issue and I need to be reimbursed. I used work at Toyota motor sales for 23 years and they would have reimbursed their customers for this vehicle failure. Please help. Thank you.

58 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

While driving on the expressway, the car started to slow down, a awd error came on dashboard, driver proceeded to emergency lane, car came to complete stop and would not restart. 60 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/16/2024

Vehicle was brought in for an oil change and service appointment at the Nissan dealership the day before and was then driven 300 miles. The following day, it was being driven at 40-50mph in residential area when suddenly the gas pedal became unresponsive and the vehicle slowed down on its own in traffic. The message appeared on the screen "engine malfunction, power reduced, service now" and the car would no long go faster than 12 mph. The car had to be turned off and on 4 times before the error cleared and was then able to be driven again.

61 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/10/2024

As I was driving yesterday car jump down to 5 mph. Message came on engine malfunction power reduced service now. Thank god no cars was behind me. I pulled over turned the car off then put it back on. It did run but engine was loud. Today on my way to work car engine is loud and car feels heavy.

62 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/31/2024

Forward collision sensor comes on and deactivates the cruise control and all safety features, sometimes breaking and quickly deceleration the car in traffic, dealer and Nissan refuse to address the issue telling me it's working as intended, feels like the car intends to kill me when this occurs in traffic.

63 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/13/2024

The car is slow to accelerate when stopped and after a few seconds will kick in and "peel out". It shutters, stalls, and goes fast. I was turning left on a yellow light and the car just stopped. The oncoming traffic had to slam on brakes, swerve to miss me and the car peeled out suddenly. I was nearly t-boned with my kids in car, then nearly hit other cars when accelerated extremely fast. The dealer did recreate the issue and says it needs a new cvt transmission for $7,500. No warning of this problem. I thought it was the fuel injector or bad gas at first and had the fuel injector cleaned. I was never told that Nissan is known for this problem. Once I took back to dealer at 101k miles, that's when I was told it needed replaced. Conveniently after the warranty expired. This was bought for Nissan dealer as a "certified used car" but it is a very dangerous car to drive period.

64 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/12/2024

Car engine light came on and the vehicle automatically slowed itself down to 20 mph as I was in a 45 mph zone, with multiple traffic behind me. No warning!! a hazard sign lit and the mil lit up, saying there is an emissions control system malfunction and to immediately take the car to a repair station. Nissanconnect also sent me a text at 5:12 Saturday night, all repair stations closed. This was very dangerous and the system should not have taken over complete control of the car at that very instant, leaving me completely unable to control the car. It was out of the blue, and I’m still shaking.

65 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/04/2024

While taking off from a stoplight, the car did nothing when I pushed on the gas-then it jumped into gear & took off abruptly. This has happened multiple times. Just last week, I was driving & it started revving at higher rpm’s. I had to pull over and shut the car off and restart.

66 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2023 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/23/2024

Major engine problems. The engine has loud knocking noise. While driving the car it shakes badly. When the hood is open you can see the engine jumping and it’s not properly secured. The engine can fall out causing a safety hazard and accident. Vehicle is not safe to drive. When driving the car loses speed immediately going over 55 mph.

67 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2022 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/21/2024

I recently experienced “safe mode” in my 2022 Nissan Rogue while driving on the highway at 80mph. My car suddenly lost power and would not accelerate or brake. I had to have my vehicle towed off the side of the highway as it was not drivable. My car is currently under diagnostic at Nissan where they are unable to reproduce the error codes. They notified me of $4,000 in repairs that would be covered by Nissan but they are unsure that will fix the problem. My car is knocking while driving, vibrating upon attempt of acceleration and shuttering at idle.

68 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/08/2024

After driving the vehicle, the rpm will skyrocket and the vehicle will not move forward. We have to turn the vehicle off and let it sit for a few hours before it drives normally again. Lately the vehicle has been bucking when shifting from reverse to drive.

69 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2024 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/31/2024

When adaptive cruise control is in use at set speed of 75mph, suddenly vehicle breaks to slow down to the speed of 55-60 mph and within seconds accelerates again to the set cruising speed. This happened at least three time in the last three days with no other vehicle ahead of me.

70 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/18/2024

While driving home from work, the Nissan went from 50mph, suddenly down to 4mph. (literally 4mph) pressing the gas down all the way would not allow the car to move any faster. It would occasionally get up to 15mph, but wouldn't stay. I was lucky beyond belief that a car or semi didn't hit me at highway speed before I could move over in rush hour traffic. Both the local dealership and Nissan USA executive offices concluded that this does not fall within the extended warranty forced on them by the nthsa for many, many similar incidents. The dealer, asking like it was an oil change, asked if I wanted a new $9k transmission. As I can't afford anywhere near that, nor is the car worth it, I was required to drive it home from the dealership, again putting my life at risk. In addition - a recall repair was requested (the driver door wiring harness) - and the dealership told me that it was completed. They did not complete this recall either. Nissan should not be allowed to make vehicles in the USA. If they actually stood behind their product and made repairs and replacements when there are manufacturing issues, I would feel much better about the situation. For now- I want to ensure no one I care about actually dies from driving a Nissan.
