I am owner of a 2014 Nissan centra. I started getting problems with my brakes. I notoced that when I press on the brakes, the petals go all the way to the floor. My car only has 50,000 miles. I took it for an inspection to my personal mechanic and they replaced the master cylinder twice and I still have the same problem. Does anybody know if there is a recall for this kind of problem for this car. The problem happens anytime, either with the car on, in motion or not in motion.

As I was driving on the freeway in heavy traffic, I pressed on the brakes to stop and I had to press the pedal all the way to the floor to activate the breaks. This caused me to almost hit the car in front of me. This happened several more times on my way home. I took the car to the dealer and they eventually diagnosed the car with a cracked master cylinder. The car is roughly 5 years old and this is the second major problem that it has had within the month - 1st the transmission and then 2nd the breaks. These are 2 of the 3 most frequently reported problems with this make/model. The car is under 60k miles. According to most sources, the master cylinder is supposed to last the life of the car. Nissan reports that no recall/customer education has been done for either of those things for that make/model. It seems irresponsible of them.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. While driving approximately 25 mph, the brakes malfunctioned while approaching a stop sign. As a result, the vehicle drove into a busy intersection without incident. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (nalley Nissan, 2551 the nalley way, atlanta, GA) where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder failed due to a ruptured brake line. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.

Brake master cylinder major failure in which I almost had an accident. Pedal went right to the floor and brakes did not function!.
Master cylinder. On Saturday 1/27/18 I was driving my car home after making a stop and the brakes quit working. I had to slam on my brakes to get the car to stop. I finally got home after a stressful drive. I took my car to one service center the next day (1/28) and they topped out the fluids but found nothing else wrong. I got in the car to drive home and had the same issue. Thus, on Monday (1/29) I took the car to a downtown service center (non-Nissan) and they diagnosed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced. I had that item replaced at a cost of $732. I then sent a letter to Nissan requesting reimbursement for this problem because the car was only 5 years old and 67000 miles. Nissan said since I did not bring it to a Nissan dealership and have their diagnostics run they would not reimburse me. However, a week or two earlier I was at a Nissan dealership for a shift lock problem and they ran diagnostics then. They told me they could not recreate the problem and did run diagnostics. They said everything was fine. After the master cylinder issue, I rechecked that report and it indicated the brake fluids were low. I also checked the internet and ran across several reports that talked about this same braking issue. Nissan has refused to do anything about it since I did not bring it to them. However, since its out of warranty I do not always take my car to a dealership - I usually take it to a place closer to my work.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Sentra. While driving 40 mph, he brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floor without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to west side Nissan (1729 cassat Ave, jacksonville, FL 32210), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and did not assist. The failure mileage was 60,000.
While getting ready to enter a highway, the brake pedal became spongy, and went completely down to the floor. On pumping the pedal, the braking power would come and go. The car had to be towed to a repair shop where it was uncovered that the brake master cylinder had gone bad. The car has only 33279 miles on it and was recently serviced by a Nissan dealer.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. While driving at any speed, the brake pedal had to be pumped numerous times for the vehicle to stop and the pedal traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealer where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,229.
Brake pedal fades to the floor intermittently while driving or in park. Mechanic diagnosed bad master cylinder. 65,000 miles on this vehicle. 2/13 production date.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. While driving 35 mph, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard when it was depressed. When the vehicle was finally stopped, it jerked as if it wanted to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact retrieved the vehicle, but noticed no change. The failure recurred and the vehicle eventually had to be towed back to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the booster needed to be replaced. The repairs was performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 900.

My brakes go to the floor randomly, seems to be from park to reverse so far. Have to pump them back up. The Sentra has been at the dealership on 3 different occasions. As reported to this agency back in August 2014, I contacted Nissan corp. Who did nothing. The second visit to the dealership (October 2014) they replaced the rear master cylinders which seemed to work up until now , took vehicle back in December 2014 and they bled the brakes, but its doing it again, and on December 24th, while at a local bank drivethru lane, stepped on the brakes and nothing causing me to strike the cement abutment and damage the hubcap (which the dealer replaced free of charge). Then on December 31st, new years eve, while at a local store, while backing out of a parking place, had no brakes again, and had to pump them up. I am scared to drive this vehicle now, and will be calling dealer again, and contacting Nissan corp. It is leased, and I would like to get rid of it now before an injury occurs. Maybe I can get a 2015. This is complaint number 2 on this website. For the same issue.
While waiting at the stop light, the car had began moving forward, I noticed the release of the pressure of the brake pedal, and begin to press harder to stop the car. It occurred again, this time I pressed harder and notice the pressure was completely released and had to floor the brake pedal. I took the vehicle to the dealership which they performed a multi-point inspection and performed a few recalls (I. E. A/c and airbags), checked brake fluid, brake line and master cylinder which apparently passed their test. While picking up the vehicle, we performed a test drive and notice the pressure was fine. After driving my car for a few days, again I stopped at a stop light and the issue began again. This time, the brake pedal floored itself and did not come up until I had to take the tip of my shoes to push it up.
Per Nissan recall 169. 202, my 2008 Sentra is equipped with robert bosch master cylinder. The master cylinder has been inspected and needs to be replaced. The dealer was contacted as soon as this information was made known to me, but the dealer refused to honor the recall. The dealer was not helpful. All information and the link to this form was supplied to me by firestone, not by the dealer. This recall and repair of the master cylinder should be honored.
I don't know what the fuck is happening with my car but this thing called limp mode has caused Mini near fatal accidents over the past year I shouldn't have to disconnect my battery or reset the computer on my car to have my vehicle drive safely I don't even know what the hell is wrong with my car can't find anything out about it online and it seems like many people have the same problem and the rear brakes are drum brakes with the master cylinder and the brakes seems to just want to bunch of fucking bullshit it's not safe I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do it's not safe it's not safe it's not safe fix it make Nissan pull their head out of their ass and fucking fix it.

My 2013 Nissan Sentra with 142 miles already has problem with the service brakes. I was completely stopped at a traffic light. While waiting for the light to change I noticed that my car started to move forward. My first reaction was to press a little bit harder on the brake pedal, the car stopped, but a few seconds later the car started to move again. I kept pressing on the brake pedal a little bit harder every time it started to move, until the pedal reached the maximum travel, all the way to the bottom. Even with the brake pedal pressed all the way to the bottom, the car kept on moving forward. At that moment I was inching away into the incoming traffic, so I had to pull the parking brake to stop the car from moving forward. This incident was very scary to say the least. Now my car is at the dealer in the service department waiting for a new master cylinder. What I cannot understand is how such an important / critical system of a brand new car could fail in 4 days, and less than 150 miles. Anyone else experienced anything like this?.
My 2007 Nissan Sentra caught on fire while I was driving on the highway. No warning lights came on, no noise, just stalled and I was not able to pull off the road. Car was a total loss. I had taken it in to the dealer for 2 recalls (brake master cylinder and airbags) last year, but was told my car cleared both.

2008 Nissan Sentra, so far had to repair and replace brake master cylinder 3 times already since purchased the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Sentra. While accelerating from a stop, the vehicle accelerated at a high speed on its own. The vehicle struck a fence, crashed into and removed the side rear of another vehicle, and drove over a sidewalk. None of the air bags deployed and there were no injuries. The contact pumped the brakes, but nothing happened. The vehicle began to slow down and the contact turned off the engine and engaged the parking brake. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop. The insurance company diagnosed the vehicle. The dealer stated that they never heard of this type of failure and was very interested in the matter because they want their products to be safe. There are no recalls for this vehicle; however, NHTSA campaign id number 08v311000 (service brakes, hydraulic:foundation components:master cylinder) was referenced. The vehicle is currently at the auto body shop. The dealer stated that Nissan will not get involved with inspecting the vehicle. Both side mirrors were removed, the widnshield was damaged, and the front fender was hanging. The failure and current mileages were 25,000.
I was not notified by mail of a recall on of my brakes master cylinder. I was told that Nissan doesn't send recall notices by us mail anymore. . . . Only by email. What if I hadn't taken it in for an unrelated issue? my brakes could have failed at the worst possible time.
My complaint is that Nissan has recalled 2007 and 2008 Sentras (recall # 08v311000) for master cylinder failure and I was never notified. This recall was effective July 23, 2008. I found the recall quite by accident. Nissan has offered no explanation as to why I was not notified within 4 months of such a safety hazard. Although I have not had an incident, it is my son driving the car from north carolina to ohio.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Sentra. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance and informed them that the brakes were not working properly. The dealer stated that the vehicle did not have an abs recall and it was not covered under the warranty. On November 5, 2008, while driving approximately 30 mph, the brakes failed when the contact attempted to stop. She swerved and crashed the front end into another vehicle. Two occupants were injured. A report was filed with the manufacturer and they stated that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign id number 08v311000 (service brakes, hydraulic: foundation components: master cylinder). The manufacturer will send an investigator to the contact's home. The failure and current mileages were 1,063. Updated 12/11/08 updated 12/11/08.
Engine knock, my car has a piston slapping around in the engine. I was told by dealer "sims Nissan in warren, ohio" to drive my car with the bad engine until they get a new engine which would be around 3-5 days to receive. They would then get me a rental car while they put the engine in. I informed the owner ken sims that this vehicle is unsafe to drive and he told me nothing would happen if I did not run the engine at high rpm's that would then cause the piston to go threw the engine. I once again told him this is unsafe and if he was so confident that nothing was going to happen to put it in writing. I was then told that he would have a huge lawsuit on his hands if something happened and now knowing if I run it at high rpms and the engine blows then I am responsible. I told him again the car was unsafe and he told me that I would be fine. Tired or arguing, I drove the car home from dealer going 20mph with 4 ways so I would not run the engine at high rpm's. The car is setting in my driveway, afraid to drive since dealer refused to give me another loaner or pay for a rental. So, I am out. Dealer has terrible customer service, and I feel as I am not being treated fairly, was degraded like I did not know what I was talking about, had to drive an unsafe vehicle on the road where the engine could have gone out of control and harmed me and others on the road. And to think they want me to continue to drive this until a new engine comes in. I have more common sense and will not put myself or others at risk driving this vehicle. The vehicle also has a recall for the master cylinder having a crack. Dealer has not even talked about fixing that, and I have not received a recall notice on this yet either, it was posed in July. This is now October.
Consumer state that while driving and no warning the master brake cylinder is linking fluid cause extended stopping distance. Dealer notified ts.
