I recently bought a 2024 Nissan Sentra sv premium used with 9,000 miles previous owner before me stated car would not accelerate at time after coming to a complete stop and dealership fixed the issue which was the brake switch I recently had the same issue around 15,000 miles and they said it the brake switch again, so I started searching online for similar incidents and it seems pretty common in older models but no one seems to state anything about the brake switch so I dont know if it is just a temporary fix as it happened to the previous owner 6-7k miles ago on my car and now happening again on a brand new car. Please look into this.

The competent that continues to fail is the emergency response breaks. They continue to stop at random times creating a very unsafe environment while I drive daily. I do have this on video and my car is available for inspection at any time. I just recently finally got the emergency break system on video since it is so random and plan on making an appointment with my local Nissan dealer. I did have a visit recently regarding the recall for the tire rods. My car continues to make odd sounds and I paid over $1000 to get it fixed with all new tires. These problems have began since the day I got my car. I have bought over 10 wheels due to issues with the tire rods. The video we finally were able to get was last night regarding the emergency stop systems, it does not let me add to the complaint but I can send to any email if needed as well as the local Nissan dealer did inspect and work on the car for my tires and tire rods.

I am writing to formally report a safety-related defect in my 2019 Nissan Sentra and to request reimbursement for repair costs associated with this issue. My vehicle experienced a failure of the brake light switch, which prevented the car from starting and disabled the brake lights—posing a serious safety hazard. Although I have been informed that my vehicle is not currently included in recall campaign pm971, the symptoms and defective part match the recall description precisely. I have verified my VIN through the NHTSA recall lookup tool, and I am concerned that the recall scope may be too narrow, excluding vehicles that are clearly affected. This defect required immediate repair to restore basic vehicle functionality and ensure safety. I have attached documentation of the repair, including the invoice and diagnostic notes, for your review. I respectfully request the following: reimbursement for the cost of the brake light switch repair. A formal review of my vehicle’s eligibility for recall pm971. Consideration for expanding the recall to include additional affected vehicles, including mine. I am submitting this complaint in the interest of safety and fairness—not only for myself but for other Nissan owners who may be facing the same issue without recourse. I trust that Nissan will take this matter seriously and respond with the integrity and customer care that your brand represents. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

Push to start is having issues. Break stiffens up and car wont start.
While actively pressing on brake at a stop sign, car started moving. Car only stopped when it bumped into car in front and had to be completely turned off. Even with hand brake and in park, car kept moving.

I experienced a second brake booster failure within 1300 miles of the replacement. The booster should be available for inspection, but I do not have it. The dealership has it. On may 9, 2025, at 38,349 miles, my booster failed, experiencing a very loud audible boom and insulation hanging under my car. It was taken to a Nissan dealership and they verified it was something they’d never seen before. It was replaced, then on June 23, at 39,630 miles, it failed again. I had my 4 year old daughter in the car the second time and thankfully was able to stop, but it could have been catastrophic in heavier traffic or at higher speeds. It was inspected by a second Nissan dealership. They advised there was oil in my brake fluid, but did not advise how it could have happened. They also said they aren’t sure what caused it and they’ve also never seen this before. One failure is rare, a second within 1300 miles is extremely rare. The symptoms, I feel, began in January. During a warranty strut replacement, I advised that my brakes were doing something strange and I wasn’t sure if it was the brakes or transmission. I was recommended to have a cvt flush and brake fluid change. I feel this was the booster, but the dealership said there are no symptoms of a failing booster. If those were not symptoms of the booster, then the first symptom began around may 5. When I would start my car, I noticed the brake pedal was stiff until I started it. It drove normal until I pressed the brake while idling in my driveway preparing to leave and heard a loud boom, followed by a hissing sound coming from my brake and a very stiff pedal. My brake is still very stiff when I go to start my car (as if I’ve pressed the brake multiple times, but I am pressing it for the first time). This is potentially the first symptom I experienced before the first failure, it’s a symptom that has not gone away since the first failure. The first failure was also reported and the complaint number 11663673.

The tail light on the drivers rear has condensation. Therefore, my brake lights flicker. When putting the parking lights/headlights on, the power to the gas pedal is cut. Rpms go down and the car simply does not have power to accelerate.

Vehicle had aeb system malfunctioning. The brakes did not work. The emergency brake barely worked. We were driving on fathers day to a family gathering and the system and brakes malfunctioned, yes we collided with the curb and debris on the side of the road cause curb rash to the rims. No major damage. This would be the 3rd this has happened to my vehicle in particular. Dealers say the manufacturer doesn’t cover brake line damage or issue even due to factory fault/ defect.

On June 10 2025 the brake sensor malfunctioned for my 2020 Nissan Sentra this was the secound timethe first time was about one week before. . The brake peddle went down , car brakes ,brakes. I was driving speed limit of 20. There were no cars on the street or object. A yellow triangle appeared on the dash board. . It scared me ,this is a safety hazard that can cause a accident. The next morning my car didn't start. There were a few symbols on the dashboard. . I had it towed to the car dealer. They put a new battery. I just bought it may 04 2025. I was told no sensors were on, mechanic didn't find anything. As of now I have bot picked up my car from the car dealer. 06/24/2025.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to start. The contact stated that the failure recurred after a Volkswagen dealer had completed the vehicle inspection. The dealer shifted to neutral(n) and pushed the vehicle into the garage. The dealer diagnosed that the brake light switch had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the part was previously replaced under NHTSA campaign number: 21v135000 (exterior lighting); however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to #1 cochran Nissan west hills (7900 university blvd, coraopolis, PA 15108), where the contact was informed that after a recall repair completion, the recall parts were only warrantied for 12,000 miles or 365 days, whichever occurred first. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at the contact's expense and provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 111,626.

The start stop idle is malfunctioning it says start stop idle fault also I just replaced the rotors and brakes the rotors were warped and it shakes when you brake. Also the door locks don't unlock when you press the button.
On may 9, 2025, my car was idling in my driveway. I put my foot on the brake to leave and heard an explosion so loud it was mentioned in multiple facebook groups and heard in at least 3 towns. There was insulation hanging from the bottom of my car. It has been towed to the Nissan dealership and they said my brake booster exploded and confirmed that they had never seen that before. I believe this is a safety issue as had I been on the highway it could have caused a fatal accident. It is still at the dealership so I do not yet have documentation or receipts, but I was told to submit a report ASAP.
Brake caliper piston popped out of brake caliper.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 35-65 mph, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle was slow to respond and to stop. The brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that the engine, traction control, and abs warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the brakes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor, rotors, and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle started to stall. The brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
My abs light and skid light is staying on all the time.

When I go up hill my car doesn't want to automatically shift, my rpms start revving, and the car won't go over 50 mph. It's been an on going issue since I purchased the vehicle in 2020. Ive taken it to Nissan on more than a couple occasions and the assured me there was no issues. Now as of last week after I brake my car loses driving power but doesn't lose actual power. Now my check engine light is on.

The malfunction symbol/abs light comes on once a week & will not allow me to crank my car and I have to jump it off to get it back started. My car is bought from a rental car agency Jan 2025 who provided me the receipts that the car was taken care of properly. Within the first week of purchase, the vehicle would not start & the malfunction and/or abs symbol would appear and happens once a week since I purchased the vehicle January 2025. According to google, this unwanted abs or malfunction warning is very common in the Nissan Sentra. Seems as if this is an unwanted problem occurring in several year models, it should be recalled. It is a safety hazard for all involved.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? brake light switch how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? per multiple reports this could cause the car not to start or to indicate to cars that the vehicle is slowing down and preparing to stop has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? back in 2019 I was having this issue and in 2020 took it to a Nissan dealership to have it looked into and repaired (unknowingly that there was a recall for this specific issue) were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? after experiencing this years ago I knew what steps needed to be taken in order to have this resolved. This started to happen again on the night of 12/15/24.
I was getting my brakes done and realized I have no rear brakes on the right and left. I was told I can not speak to anyone higher up until Monday.
1) while driving at 35 mph with cruise control on, upon approaching an intersection with a red traffic light on, pushing the brake did not affect the vehicle at all. After going through the red light (divided roadway at intersection) and making a fast-moving right turn, pressing the engine on button had no effect. Hard depressing the emergency/parking brake pedal eventually stopped the vehicle. There was no floor mat interference (the mat was securely hooked onto the retaining hooks). 2) the driver's side door would not open when the mechanical lever was pulled; even mutiple times. The only way to exit the vehicle was by pushing the electronic door unlock button. Additional testing indicated that the driver's side door would never open using the mechanical opening handle when the vehicle doors had been electrically locked. In a panic situation, or if the electrical system had failed, this situation could trap a person inside the vehicle.
Break switch malfunctions that leaves the car unable to start.
The car will not register the brake activation to be able to start the vehicle. Hence, we have a broken car that now doesn’t work.
Car won't start, stranded in parking lots, on road. Have seen hundreds of complaints about the same thing ,saying it's either a brake switch or ignition switch. Very scary to be stranded somewhere. Nissan is aware and said it's common problem? hard to believe Nissan or the NHTSA does not believe this to be a safety issue.

Having issues with my brake switch. I’ll press on the brakes but it won’t appear as if I’m pressing it which makes it hard for me to start my car. I have to wiggle the brake and press it numerous times for the brake lights to engage.
My abs light randomly come on along side of traction control, front and rear collision assistance lights. Car has had electrical problems since I got it such as sometimes bright headlights won’t come on( they just stay on the dim regardless of what you do) the radio will just freeze and not work at all. Have to unhook the battery to get radio to even reset or even wait days for it to do it itself. Do not recommend this car. Nothing but electrical problems since I’ve gotten it. And it only have 50,000 miles and all regular maintenance has been done.
I had this car for seven months and in June 13,2024 car failed and caused accident. Prior to the accident the car was shutting off in traffic . Then June 13,2024 caused accident when going to work car lost control due to computer issues. My vehicle camera and reporter recorded the whole thing and my foot was on break all way to accident. State farm insurance has a recorder and was shown. I'm reporting that before crash air bags sprayed out steam and burnt my arm. The airbags failed to deploy. When car was bounced on flate bed truck they deployed, not until then I was injured with burnt face and arm and cut knee. Please acknowledge to Nissan. I told them but they didn't report issue or investigated. The Nissan central have tie rod problems.
On 05/03/24; my cvt failed in my 2019 Nissan Sentra. From 05/03-06/07 manchester city Nissan had my vehicle. As there were issues fixing my cvt that was blamed on paperwork. Upon picking up my vehicle I noticed there was a brake issue. As the brakes don't push back when needing to use them. No lights on. Replaced tires, brakes and rotors. Still an issue. Shop believes it is my abs that is faulty/failed. If I encounter the need to brake quickly; this can result in a serious collision.
There has been numerous battery drains, can't charge phone without draining battery. I got and error code p062f internal control module eeprom. Error. And a battery power supply error code.
I keep having issues with aeb system. The emergency braking system that is supposed to sense cars in front of you and brake for you if you don’t brake yourself. I was doing about 70 mph no one else on road sunny day and my car starts beeping loudly and my brakes lock up for no reason. 3 times just today this happened. Oh and you can’t turn the system off so I just keep praying it doesn’t kill me one of these days on the interstate. Can’t believe this isn’t a recall probably won’t be until someone is seriously injured. My neck hurts from whiplash but can’t go to the hospital for that with the price of my insurance copay. Don’t buy a Nissan if you read this never buy a Nissan.
The automated break system came on while I was driving 2 times within 3 days without anything being in front, the back or on the side of the car. When this happened there was a few beeping noise and a quick red flash on the dashboard that said maintenance. This started happening the next day after getting an oil change from the Nissan dealership. My safety was at risked because when the car suddenly and unexpectedly stopped it jerked my body forward causing my neck to become sore. This can cause greater injury or worst if I was going any faster. If someone was behind me it could cause them to crash into me which would be doing the opposite of the purpose of the safety feature. I took the car in to the dealership and nothing could be done because there wasn't a code and it didn't happen in the presence of the mechanic. It could be a sensor issue but I don't know and the mechanics seem to be just as clueless and very dismissive. I find this to be unacceptable that I must drive around with a car that can break abruptly at any given time. I do not feel safe driving this car and it should be a safety recall on this issue. I looked online and seen other people complaining about the same issue so I'm sure Nissan knows what's going on and aren't doing anything about it.
The crash imminent braking system would activate during driving when there isn't a risk. It happens at odd times when there is no cars in front of the vehicle. Also Nissan is stating there's no parts available to fix recall:r23b3.
Aeb system has been malfunctioning when driving applying brakes without warning.
Left front vibrations and steering issues. Also start button won't engage even after repair. Trouble stating car and interferes with remote starting.
I am having really bad transmission issues. My car screen for gps, bluetooth doesnt even work. . . Or wont even play my bluetooth music half the time. . . My sunroof, will not go down anymore. This is a 2019 nissian Sentra I just got 5 months ago. .
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at approximately 35 mph, the emergency brake warning light had illuminated. In addition, the contact stated while depressing the brake pedal the vehicle did not come to a complete stop and rolled forward. The contact stated that they had crashed into a vehicle in front of them. No police report was filed. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front vehicle sensory and the bumper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
