Brake felt like it was sticking. Dealership looked at it and changed rubber piece. 10/16/2023 accident occurred. Air bags did not deplore. Car was totalled.
On a few occasions, while driving, the forward collision warning came on causing the car to automatically brake when there were no cars in front of or around the car. Brought the car to dealer and was quoted $2057. 50. After that, all 4 automatic door locks stopped working. Brought car to dealer again and was quoted $1375. 00 to replace the door actuators for a grand total of $3658. 78. Nissan consumer affairs was called and they said they would only cover 50% of the repairs. These items are huge safety issues and Nissan should cover the entire bill.

Vehicles will slams on brakes as if it is trying to avoid something in front of the vehicle. This has randomly happened several times at different driving speeds. This has been reported to dealership with no resolution because they cannot duplicate. In addition, I have had the same serious recall involving the tie rod for my vehicle and there is no resolution. The dealership will tell you how serious the issue is and that there is stop sale on these vehicles to entice you to trade in the vehicle instead of trying to make it right with the consumer.
This warning light has been present since I test drove this car in March 2023. The dealership stated if I purchased the vehicle they would fix the issue before I took delivery after purchasing the vehicle in March 2023 the warring light came on several times within hours of picking up the vehicle. I took the vehicle back to the dealer at least twice within a week or so to have them fix the issue, finally the service department at mcgee took the car to mastria Nissan. Mastria is a certified Nissan dealer. Mastria fixed the issue by re-calibrating the sensor in the front bumper that governs the automatic braking system (aeb). This sensor also controls the cruise control system as well. Mastria Nissan fixed the sensor on or around may 12, 2023. It is now September 2023 and this same sensor, same warning light and same error code is coming on continuously every time I drive the vehicle. That is less than 4 months of driving. I have checked around the sensor. There are no obstructions around the sensor. There is no dirt or corrosion around the sensor and it is extremely affixed to its mounting bracket. There is no logical reason for this sensor to be failing within less than 4 months of driving. This is a poor and shoddy design malfunction on Nissan’s part. This defective equipment installed on my 2019 Nissan Sentra is a serious safety concern. If this sensor stops working or malfunctions while driving, this could cause a loss of control while on the road. As this sensor governs the aed system this could cause a loss of control while on the road or worse. I could end up driving off the road uncontrolled. It could also result in a collision with another vehicle on the road. This safety issue needs to be fixed by Nissan.
I am writing to file a formal complaint against koeppel Nissan regarding their refusal to service my vehicle for a factory safety recall (tie rod replacement) and additional services upon request such as; clogged drain(water inside car doors), wheel alignment, evaporator core leakage( water on back seat floor), tire rotation, water in spare wheel well & front door check strap repair. I believe it is imperative to bring this matter to your attention, as it poses a significant risk to public safety and may be in violation of the applicable regulations and guidelines. On September 18, 2023, I visited koeppel Nissan in jackson heights queens, NY for my scheduled appointment in order to address a safety recall on my vehicle. However, to my astonishment, the dealership's service department declined to service my vehicle, citing reasons that were neither reasonable nor justifiable. Upon explaining that I was being rushed due to time constraints and poorly serviced in the past, the dealership's staff in question displayed a dismissive and unprofessional attitude towards my concerns. Despite my insistence on the urgency of the safety recall, regrettably, the situation escalated to a point where I was asked to leave the premises without having my car serviced. Subsequently, I have preferably decided to no longer do business with this dealership in regards to servicing my vehicle and I wish to seek other alternative solutions at another car dealership location. It is my understanding that as a registered dealership, koeppel Nissan has an obligation to promptly and adequately address safety recalls on the vehicles they have sold. This obligation is not only a matter of legal compliance but also a moral responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of their customers.

Driving 20 mph at night on a road that was recently torn up for road resurfacing. Manhole covers were raised but not contacting the underside of the car. I was attempting to drive so that I did not have to run over the manhole covers and the automatic braking system beeped twice, flashed an advisory on the dash, and engaged full anti-skid brakes to bring the car to a complete stop. Thankfully, there was not a vehicle behind me, or my pregnant wife & I would have definitely been rear ended. I suspect the radar system, mounted on the lower left of the front bumper, picked up the manhole covers and mistook them as another car. There is a way to turn off this system, but it resets each time you restart the car. I am looking to permanently disable this system, either by a fuse or by physically disconnecting the radar from the car.
During adverse weather conditions cat refused to drive. I had to press break to get cat to budge then or would stop again until I redirected the car to parking spot.

Several electrical and transmission problems. Vehicle over exerts battery. Transmission goes out of overdrive while driving . Collusion avoidance radar constantly goes into malfunction modes. Car over heats.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that when the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a routine oil change, the mechanic informed her that during the test drive, the brake pedal was applied, failed to respond, and was depressed to the floor board. The contact stated that the mechanic had to apply the emergency brake in order to stop the vehicle from crashing inside the shop. No warning lights were illuminated, and it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

My 2018 Nissan Sentra has under 60,000 miles on it and is on its 3rd set of brake rotors, as well as had both front and rear brake pads replaced 2 times. The vehicle has always given the warning , front radar not detected alert, until the last 12 months where I began receiving a malfunction warning. My car has been brought to 2 different Nissan dealerships to work on this issue. The current one stating my front sensor is failing & will need to be replaced however there is no warranty on it. I am the only owner of my vehicle and it has not been in any forward collisions. As for the power train/transmission, I received a transmission flush in may of 2023, and now 15 months later was told by a different Nissan dealership it needed a flush as it appeared the transmission was going bad. The vehicle has stalled several times, continuously has a high rmp when accelerating and the ac has gone out a couple of months ago.

I was traveling on a multi lane road at a speed of approximately 45 mph. There were cars directly behind me. Multiple pedestrian crossings were in front of me but the pedestrians had already crossed the road and were safely on the sidewalk. However, the caution lights from the crosswalk were still illuminated from the pedestrians that had previously crossed. As I reached the pedestrian crossing, the vehicle’s front collision warning system activated and immediately applied heavy brake pressure. There was nothing I could do to override it and since there was nothing in front of my vehicle, the cars behind me were not expecting a sudden stop. The car behind me was able to stop in time but narrowly avoided a collision with the rear of my vehicle as a result.
For the past two years, an emergency brake has been activated when an object, such as a car, is close to my front bumper. This is excellent, but occasionally the sensor activates when nothing is in front of me, which is risky and causes my brake pads to wear out more quickly than they should. When I took this up with the Nissan dealer two years ago, they claimed to have rectified it, but they didn't. When I went to another dealership because I was dissatisfied with the service at the prior, I brought up the issue and asked if they could turn off this feature. They said that there wasn't much they could do. They gave it a test drive and found nothing, but since this only occasionally occurs, it is difficult to keep track of it without keeping the car for several weeks, which I cannot afford to do. This seems recall worthy.
I have reported this before with no resolution. The vehicle that financed (2019 Nissan Sentra sv) always slows down during acceleration causing the car to jerk myself and passenger(s) forward and the car to make grinding sounds and would only allow continued driving after the car decelerated when there was no vehicle in the front vicinity of the car. The transmission is at present in need of replacement and the Nissan manufacturer is saying I am responsible for fixing it with a cost of $2600. 00 with less than 100k this should not be an expense that I have to pay when I reported this issue months ago and several owner/operators of this car are having the same as me problem!.
Brake system failed. Car brake petal was all the way to the floor and grinding to stop. The car didn’t fully stop. Car has be inspected 3 times by dealership. No warning lights on. The car automatic brake goes off randomly and breaks out of no where and put me at risk with causing an accident it has been inspected by dealer as well and this continues to happen. Car jerks and looses power while drive check engine light comes on and blinks. The car has been seen twice by dealer for this issue nothing resolved. Almost caused a major accident first time on freeway and again on a busy intersection. Car is very unsafe and not reliable.
When in reverse, brake pedal goes all the way to the floor when I push the pedal to stop. Also, once in forward, brake pedal went all the way to the floor when pushing the brake pedal to stop.
Automatic emergency braking and front collision avoidance system has caused the vehicle to brake when there is nothing in front of vehicle, or show "system malfunction" on the dash. Dealer unable to duplicate but said it happens to most Nissan Sentra's. Found it happens more frequently when there is rain or bad weather.
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle sporadically braked. Additionally, several unknown warning lights were illuminated . The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact to replaced the battery. The battery was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
At 5:44 on hwy 50/elizabeth Ave in pueblo, CO. The automatic emergency braking system locked up with no reason for it to do so. Thankfully we were not rear ended. I have documented via photograph of this system error alert coming on several times a week while driving this vehicle. It has been to the dealership now twice for this issue and will be making yet another appt to get the car back in again.
Pressing on the gas pedal would not accelerate the car. This was intermittent. With cruise control set, the car would no longer maintain the set speed. Both of these occurred repeatedly and while going different speeds. This lasted for 2+ weeks until the dealer was able to find the defect. Nothing was recorded on the car's error messages. The dealership was unable to find the cause and eventually called Nissan's engineering department at corporate. They were aware of the issue in other vehicles that would also stop accelerating and provided a possible solution to the Nissan dealership. The dealer charged us to replace a "brake switch" which was randomly triggering a braking event even though the brake pedal was not touched or engaged.

My daughter was driving her 2020 Nissan Sentra the other day and was trying to avoid hitting a dog that ran in front of her car she crashed into a park car. Our Nissan Sentra anti brakes did not stop the car nor make a noise before hitting that parked car. No warning from our car to prevent this head on collision. There is so much damage that our insurance has deemed it a total loss. By the grace of god daughter is physically fine but mentally she is not!! as a parent I felt comfortable with my daughter driving this car at first. I have witness the anti brakes work on our 2020 Nissan Sentra before, when we would get near an object the car would automatically stop! we are now out of a car and I'm still going to owe a balance to my finance company once the insurance pay whatever they're going to pay. This is so unfair and heartbreaking that this important feature on this car failed my daughter when she needed it the most. Why????????.
Lost brakes on the highway luckily was able to stop safely. As you can see in the pic the rear left brake line completely corroded in 1 spot and another spot was ready to completely fail, those spots are incidentally the spots where the line attaches to the body for support, those points don't have the corrosion protection that the entire line has.
Found out by someone else about recall on my car about the stop switch and transmission on car then took it to petro Nissan and they told me they voided my recall and fixed it but it was never fixed because the situation has started on my car and with the transmssion started messing up with battery being drained with stop switch problem and my airbag light blinking off and on with me surfing the internet I found to where theres a recall on electrical ignition . Air bags and with the brake light switch I need this solved ASAP please and will need a loaner are rental as its being fixed please again because every dealer I have been to and had check it refused to fix it without charging me alot of money.
The car continues to turn off and draining the battery, on the audio there is a constant static, and lights keep shorting out.
I purchased a 2019 Nissan Sentra sr (VIN: [xxx] ) as a certified pre-owned vehicle from star Nissan in bayside, NY on [xxx]. Since the day of purchase, I have experienced repeated failures when trying to start the vehicle using the push-button ignition. Specifically, when pressing the brake pedal to start the car, nothing happens — the brake does not register, and the engine will not start. This issue directly matches the symptoms outlined in NHTSA recall 21v135 (Nissan campaign pm971), which addresses a known brake lamp switch defect in 2016–2019 Nissan Sentra models. I was not the original owner and was never notified of this recall. The selling dealership, who had custody of the car when the recall was issued, did not confirm or perform the required repair before reselling the vehicle to me. Nissan consumer affairs now claims there are “no open recalls” on my VIN, but the part in question — the brake switch — has never been replaced, and my Nissan service history confirms that it was not repaired. Instead, unrelated components like the brake booster were replaced multiple times, which did not resolve the issue. This defect has created multiple unsafe situations where I was stranded with my child in unsafe areas due to the car failing to start. The car’s brake system is critical to safe operation and starting function, and failure of this component puts both myself and my child at risk. I believe the recall was never performed and was falsely marked as completed or was never properly associated with my VIN. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate why this VIN is not being flagged for an active recall, despite clear matching symptoms and lack of documented repair. I also request that Nissan be required to fulfill the safety repair free of charge under the recall. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Parking brake fails to engage the first few times and when attempting to engage it the rpms rev high. System seems confused and thinks it’s still driving hence the difficulty for the brake to be applied (mostly on an incline). In other instances the parking brake disengages on its own after the vehicle is turned off. Something isn’t right. Dealership can’t duplicate because no incline exists.

I was driving on the interstate to go and visit my granddaughter from PA to new york when all of a sudden I press on the break pedal and the brakes stopped working there was no warning sign on the dashboard I was alone in the car and afraid I started to slow down there was a lot of traffic trucks and I pulled over on the side slowly and use the emergency break and thank god I’m alive today to tell you my ordeal thank god I didn’t get hurt and no one got hurt and the best part I got to see my granddaughter 9 hours later. Basically I was informed that my brake line was broke in three pieces I cannot believe it just be careful always check your brake line thank you stay safe out there!!.
Vehicle fails to accelerate and breaks for no reason. Driver is not in control of vehicle. Last I checked I have the drivers license not the vehicle, yet I am unable to accelerate when pressing the gas at times. Other times driving 65 on the expressway the vehicle abruptly stops nearly causing me to be rear ended. Nissan isn’t addressing safety concerns. I’m traumatized by this vehicle.
My car on two occasions came to a stop while driving . Nothing was in front of me at all. A flashing light came on on the dashboard and my car came to a hault. This was very frightening and now I am afraid to drive the car. The dealership said nothing they can do. This issues needs to be addressed and fixed and a recall needs to be done. This is a huge safety issue!!.
On 2 July 2022, I was traveling southbound on interstate 95 in a rented 2021 Nissan Sentra. While driving the brakes unexpectedly locked and did not release, affecting the steering, and causing the vehicle to spin out in a circle across major highway lanes crashing head on into a guardrail on the left side of the interstate. This is a major safety concern as when an individual is driving a vehicle, they need to be able to control not only the direction of the vehicle, but when that vehicle brakes. When the brakes locked while driving, so did the steering, causing there to be no control of a vehicle traveling down a major florida interstate. Had there been impact by another vehicle while the 2021 Nissansentra brake malfunction caused it to spin out across major highway lanes, such would have been fatal to both me & the unexpected driver also traveling southbound on i95. If this malfunction exists in other 2021 Nissan Sentras, a major motor vehicle safety risk also exists for both drivers & riders of the 2021 Nissan Sentra, as well as any other motorist driver traveling with passengers in the same direction. This vehicle was a rental car through budget and is not personally owned. Rental company was informed of mechanical malfunction & also aware that the brakes locked while driving the 2021 Nissan Sentra. Service history/ maintenance of rental vehicle is personally unknown. It is also unknown if the problem / component has been inspected by dealer or independent service center. If the same malfunction exists in a group of vehicles used commercially for one time rentals by rental companies, the posed safety risk for motor vehicle safety significantly increases. Drivers are unknowingly renting dangerous vehicles posing a major risk for personal safety of themselves & their families, but also to other motorists around them.
Daughter described pushing break to the bottom /or floor boards while the car slowly began to slow. Yes, the vehicle is currently available for inspection. An impact occurred to daughter which caused bruising and duress. Another vehicle was struck. No, the problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service ctr. No. None that my daughter reported. I had driven the vehicle a few days prior and noticed nothing unusual upon breaking.
