Noises During Shifting Problems of Nissan Sentra

Shuttering, unexpected power surges, hesitation, stalling, and of course lots of bad noises in general. I found numerous Nissan transmission lawsuits filled regarding 2014 Sentra prone to shaking, jerking, sudden downshifts. I am unable to drive my vehicle and have been told it needs a transmission and this vehicle has a long history of issues.

Driving on freeway less than 35 mph, car made loud noise for 1-2 minutes at same time I felt under floor board something pulling. I tried to slow down, brakes didn't work. I rear ended a car. The car gear shift popped into reverse; I pressed harder on brakes & they finally worked. I noticed a big light on the dashboard saying �malfunction, check owners manual� there was a gray symbol near these words. Inside the speedometer circle that same symbol appeared in bright yellow. At some point within an hour 2 more yellow symbols appeared on the far left of the dash, a yellow triangle with an explanation point, and a car with 2 curved lines behind the back tires. When the car was returned to the dealership I purchased it from, the staff immediately attempted to blame me for the incident�asking why didn't I bring the car in for service? and that I have to get a rental car and my car repair through my insurance company. He pushed the idea of getting the car repaired. I stated I just barely got the car 3-4 weeks ago brand new. I left the car to be checked by service department. The next day the service manager denied any malfunction saying there wasn't any current codes just past codes; I asked what that meant he said a brake sensor and some other data I didn't comprehend. He said get my insurance to fix the car. I said no sir, I want more information on why the car malfunction first. Once I explain to him again what happened he said he would have his forman check out this car the next morning; however less than an hour the service manager me back to say he talked to a field tech engineer and was advised that I had a right to call Nissan corp to make a report. I went by srvc dpt to get something, they tried to get to take/repair my car. I didn�t. Once I spoke to Nissan corp they said it take 6-8 weeks for investigation etc to be completed and for me not to get car repaired.

I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra that is having transmission problems, I have the cvt transmission that so many consumers are complaining about. I was in an auto accident on oct. 29th 2019 when my car lunged forward and rear ending the car in front of me. I was at a total stop (stationary) and my car lunged forward hitting the car in front of me causing damage to both cars. My car is not safe to drive as it lunges, jerks and rpm go up when idling. I am hearing grinding noises and my car jerks and drags when driving. I had it in the shop about a year ago for clicking noises and gear hard shifting, they covered up the problem and I paid the dealer $116 to lube my gear shift and struts. I still owe $4000 on this car. The Nissan dealer wants to charge me $150 for a transmission inspection. I don't have the money, please help me before I get into a serious accident due to a faulty transmission. I believe there is a class action lawsuit for the transmission on 2014. Thank you. Cathy.

While traveling on I-95 in miami at 55 mph, my car suddenly stopped accelerating and wouldn't pass 20 mph. I pushed down on the gas peddle and nothing would happen. I was extremely lucky to be on the middle lane and quickly shifted over to the far right on the emergency lane and turned off the car. I turned it back in and it worked fine. I didn't use the car for two days, and then when I tried again, it was giving the same issue where the car wouldn't accelerate and was making a weird noise which I never expierned before. I took to my trusted mechanic and he advised it was a cvt issue. I had to get the car towed to a certified Nissan dealership as Nissan agreed to consider possible financial assistance. Upon completion it was confirmed it was a cvt transmission issue and it would cost about $5,000 to repair with labor costs. Nissan has to given me back my car and it's now the 20th of February. My car has 99,450 miles, and has been in excellent condition with my maintenance. It's scary and unfortunate that we have been sold a defective car and Nissan won't admit to it. There's a class action lawsuit open and still in court. I got an attorney involved who has taken up my case for further action against Nissan. Consumer should be advised to stop driving this car ASAP! I am now looking to get a new car as I don't feel safe anymore driving this and I need a reliable and safe vehicle for work.

We bought a 2016 Nissan Sentra in March of 2018. I took it in complaining of a whining noise a few months after having it and was told because they don't see or feel anything there is nothing to be done. Now in November the cvt transmission needs replaced. It punches when you go to take off, feels like it is losing power when driving on the freeway, difficult accelerating, jerks while driving, shifts on its own from about 1. 5 rpm up to 3 while driving on the freeway, and Nissan said it is out of warranty because I am over 60,000 miles (my mileage is at about 64,000 miles). It's going to cost $4500 to replace it according to Nissan. The door handle comes off and it has to be pushed back in, the side view mirrors whistle while driving on the freeway.

My vehicle jerks and makes noise when shifting in gears. The transmission slips and car performance is not like it suppose to do. I have read recalls on the Nissan Sentra and my vehicle is experiencing the issues that are found on other vehicles.

Purchased my car in late November. Before the car hit 1,000, I returned it to Nissan because the car wouldn't shift as I was driving on the highway. The mechanic at Nissan ran test and said that everything was fine. Now my car is making terrible noises when I come to a stop and when I'm changing the gears. It's also shaking really bad when the car is at a complete stop. I purchased this vehicle to have a peace of mind but all it have been is a headache and unsafe.

Transmission judder, including shake, shudder, and vibration. Slow, shuttering at acceleration. Long time to respond to input from the pedal. Safety hazard when trying to merge onto a busy road. Clanging and rattling noise. Downshift problems. These issues are ongoing and started at 50,000 miles.

In 2008 I purchased a new 2008 Nissan Sentra. Following the purchase I have incurred numerous issues and saftey hazards. The vehicle began jerking during acceleration 3 months after purchase, I informed dealership of issue and was informed that nothing was defective within the vehicle. 11 months following initial diagnoise transmission was replaced 11 months after. The repalcement transmission was covered under warranty. The gears shifted from 65 mph to 40 mph while travelling on major highway, 3 year old toddler was present. Shift in gears almost caused major accident. Following replacement of transmission, travelling on garden state parkway, car once again shifts gears and drops from 65 mph to 40 mph, once again almost causing major accident. This vehicle has had numerous recalls. Contacted Nissan's consumer affairs, was told to return to original dealer and nothing else could be done. Due to safety hazards I have been without a vehicle and have had to rent a vehicle to transport to rutgers university where I attend full-time. My current issue with this vehicle places my life and well being in danger. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs and was informed to return the vehicle the original dealer. The original dealer has since sold the dealership to his son, and the new dealer refuses to assist me, stating that the previous dealership and the new dealership have no afflilation with one another.

I went to service center several times, but they couldn't fix these. When I am driving my car slowly under 10 mph, there is noise from front wheels everyday, it is loud. I can hear a continuing sound when I turn my car to left or right on road. When I am driving my car on local road, there is noise from gear-knob button(shift-knob button). I found my car doesn't have door-lock with key. When I lock the front door, other doors are not lock together. But the manual doesn't say like that.

Intermittently while driving at any speed and shifting any gear the vehicle stalled. The dealership inspected the vehicle 10 times on different occasions, and could not duplicate or correct the problem. There were numerous probles with engine stalling, the maf had to be replace numerous times, the check engine and the reverse light did not work properly. (the wiring harness also repeated intermittent problems) the engine would stall when the clutch was depressed and when in neutral idling and when shifting the gears. The front speaker/tweeters made cracking noises. The cooling fan would come on when not activated.
