I was on a city street. After stopping (I was stopped) at an intersection, I then pressed on the gas to turn left into the lane. At that time, I heard a loud pop which startled me. And though the car was in gear (d-drive) it would not move forward. I shifted to reverse to see if it would move in that gear. I felt the gear engage and the car did move in reverse. I shifted back to d- drive but I did not feel the gear engage nor did the car move forward at all. In addition to the failure of my transmission, I was doubly bothered by the fact that there was never a warning light on the dash to signal a pending or potential problem.

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated the transmission malfunctioned. The vehicle stopped and would not move when the gears were shifted. The contact then heard a knocking noise. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the issue as the transmission. The dealer suburban Nissan of troy 1800 maplelawn dr, troy, mi 48084 (248) 649-2300 stated that the transmission may be the issue and suggested the contact tow the vehicle in. The manufacturer gave the contact a case number and told the her to tow it to the dealer so their mechanics could officially diagnose the issue. They gave the contact a case number to see if they could take care of some of the repair costs. The failure mileage was 108,000. Tf.
Rpms are going up and down when maintaining the same speed . We took it back to the dealership at 9000 miles and they told us it's a special transmission. Belt driven not gear driven. We took it back a few more times and finally we took it to midas and they told us to take it to dealership for the transmission problem after they drove it and noticed rpms going up and down .

I just purchased this car last year the reason I bought this car because of good gas milage and transmission . I have buying Nissan since 1993 and right now I have 2 altimas 1 Sentra 1 quest every other car is doing good except Sentra I have transmission problem its not changing the gears and ac is not blowing cold air. Please help me out with these issues because I still have 4 more years of payments and knowing Nissan cars they usually go to 200k without major problems.
While driving on the highway my car would not not go into third gear. The car started jerking and I had lost all acceleration power. I was not sure what was going on because no lights turned on letting me know what was going on. Had to get towed and was told that my transmission went out. There were no warnings or anything about the transmission going out. Nissan really screwed people on this.

My 2014 Nissan Sentra started to experience sudden shaking and issues with rpm's, it wont change gears and acceleration problems. Especially when im at a stoplight, it won't accelerate properly. It makes a wirey sound and it only has 33,000 miles on it. I can barely go past 60 mph and it is a huge safety issue. I researched the problem and came across many others complaining about the same issues.
Car could not change gear while driving had to take foot off the gas, when shifting gears from park it was very loose and slippery, car can no longer be driven it will only go into neutral. When the incident happened I was waiting at the light with my foot on the break and it wouldnt shift back to drive when I stepped on the gas.

So many issues not even sure what it is. Car will fail to shift into gear and constant redline, very dangerous when getting on the highway. Car will randomly get no gas to accelerate until I turn the car off and then on again. Transmission slips at 80k miles. Or perceived to be slipping, car will drop rpm and then rise quickly jerking the car around. Going down hill the car will quickly rise rpm over and over and the car will uncontrollably jerk very noticeably.
Update since April - purchased car 10-22-15 inspection and said it was good. In 1-14-2016 car growling/city street. Again inspection and said it was good 6-14-16 car in ,car growling in motion on street. Again tested - good stranded (purchased a jump start) 8-16 2016 stranded in driveway 10-17-17 - twice car went into sport mode,on highway (50/60mph) no one touched anything-hands on wheel! they had car for 12 days and said nothings wrong with the trans. Still happens. . And worse. Trans blows up while driving car. It was awful, had we been going 50/60 we would have been dead. No warning lights- stopped dead and abruptly on city street. Had it towed in they finally admitted it was the trans from the start oct 2015! had to have a re-furbished trans as there was nothing left of this one,(car towed in-would not go into any gear). 1-16-18 car in for loud rattle. They said it was from the transmission being replaced. Straightened the heat plate under the trans. Still rattles 3-15-18 while driving with the new trans. Car went into sport mode on city street, just like before the original trans exploded. 4-29-18 stranded in driveway after driving it 28 miles- the battery was discharging while driving- we've been stranded about 14x's. Took car in -got a loaner. They said it must be an electrical problem and did a parasitic test. Nothing wrong 6-26-18 went into sport mode driving for about 40 seconds -pulled over- shut off motor. 7-26-18 shifted into high gear again on its own while driving. Our hands on the wheel, when driving. The car is acting like it did before the trans was replaced. Their Nissan corporate man said, it must be electrical why we are getting stranded and there is definitely something wrong with the new transmission they put in as it's doing the same thing as originally, before the car exploded and could have killed us.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the continuously variable transmission (cvt) failed to change gears. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle was extremely slow to accelerate. Crest Nissan (6600 TX-121, frisco, TX 75034, 1-855-878-7690) diagnosed that the cvt needed to be replaced. The manufacturer indicated that, due to the title being salvaged, the contact would need to replace the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,200.
While driving the car, it sporadically does not shift gears sometimes causing loss of power and high rpm's jerking the car. This is very unsafe because you never know when it is going to happen. Losing power can cause very unsafe conditions on the road when pulling out into traffic. It seems that when you accelerate rapidly like when going on a highway ramp or accelerating after slowing to make a turn, the car gets stuck in I would say 3rd gear and not shift higher. The rpm's skyrocket and max out, killing the power to the engine. Then you have to come to a complete stop and slowly accelerate hoping that all the gears shift. The car only has 69k miles on it!!!!.
When I drive on the freeway I lose power, the rpm' s jump around and the car loses speed. Like the car is not shifting gears or is having a hard time finding the right gear given the speed.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that when the vehicle shifted from 2nd to 3rd gear at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle hesitated. The contact then stated that while driving at highway speeds while accelerating, the rpm revved up to 5,000 rpm and the vehicle failed to shift gears as designed. The vehicle was taken to Nissan 24 (1016 belmont st, brockton, MA 02301, (508) 588-9520) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact stated that approximately 80% of the transmission was replaced however, the failure recurred intermittently. Additionally, the vehicle sputtered while driving 25 mph. The battery became drained and the vehicle had to be jump started. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer and the battery was replaced. The contact stated that additional unknown repairs were performed however, the failure recurred with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that the engine wiring harness needed to be replaced. The repair was still pending. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The Nissan Sentra accelerate and decelerate at any giving moment on the city street in motion, at a stop sign highway turning it shakes and jerks when ever in motion the brakes lock up the vehicle rev and the rpm meter surge unexpectedly and without warning none of the warning lights work the vehicle is very dangerous took the car to the Nissan dealer a couple of times they said I needed an oil change got the oil change still didn't help took the car back up there they looked at the car again and said it needed a transmission and I said how no warning lights are on the guy said they want come on until the transmission is gone and the shift lever wont shift in gear without putting an object in the little square hole next to the lever.
My transmission has gone out twice since I purchased this vehicle in June 2015. In October 2015, my car wouldn't accelerate. I took it to the local Nissan dealership in which they told me that it was electrical wiring from my tail lights to my brake. 3 months later, my car has the same symptoms. I take it to the local dealership again and they tell me that it's the transmission and eventually, after several weeks of conversing back and forth, they finally agree to replace the transmission after my car won't shift out of first gear on my way home from school, around 10 pm, on the bypass going about 35mph all by myself. It took approximately a month for the car to start being symptomatic, yet again. I take it back and drop it off for about 3 days. They can't find the source of the problem without a service engine light on so they tell me there's nothing to do and they send it back to me. This happens a few times within a couple of months. Several weeks go by with the car still being symptomatic and not shifting gears correctly. The car keeps jumping and won't drive correctly so I finally take it back to Nissan, after calling about the problem and them telling me that nothing can be done until they see a service engine light on the car for it to throw a code. Today, October 3, 2016, I take it back to columbus Nissan and about halfway there, it won't shift. It then wont accelerate once I off of the bypass so I had to literally roll into the parking lot of the Nissan dealership. They then tell me they can't do anything really because the service light isn't on and the service men are at lunch. Tiffany, an employee of columbus Nissan, offers me a ride back to my apartment and to leave me car there for them to look at it after lunch. They later call me and tell me it's my transmission out yet again. They're waiting to hear back from the Nissan USA business.
The transmission will not come out of gear. Vehicle will start and come out of gear once you hit the gear shift several times. Started the issue last month 09/05/2016. No other incident took place prior. The vehicle was stationary on flat ground in the driveway every time it has taken place. If you put it in park once you finally get it out of park it take about 45 minutes of working with it to get it back out.
Transmission is not changing the gears correctly . When driving on a city street or highways and pulling off from a complete stop the vehicle drives off as if it is pulling a load and then when it should be changing in the 2nd or 3rd gear it starts to slip out of gear as if it is going in neutral and then you feel roughness in the changing of gears.
I just purchased a brand new off the lot 2012 Nissan Sentra immediatly called the dealership upon leaving told them the alignment was off they said to bring it in and they would realign the car, in the meantime when I apply the brakes the car wants to keep going and throughs itself into another gear where it would lung forward, which means I am having to press on the brakes harder in order not to be thrown into traffic. I took the car in and at first they could not duplicat the problem then all of a sudden it is the transmission that needs to be repalced why is it a brand new car needs a new transmission??? now they are telling me that they will extend the warranty for me really! wow why should the warranty be extended when I have a brand new car I keep asking for a new Sentra just switch it out make life easy on us all.
Drove to work, end of day the vehicle would not go into gear. Called dealer and was told that coke had spilled near the gear shift which stopped it from working. I do not drink coke. I was told that this happens to a lot of ladies car. Bumper to bumper warranty will not cover. Tower came carry car to dealer went inside car, pull up cover unscrewed his pen pushed in hole put car in gear. Told me drive to dealer. Tuesday, was told "coke" in car have to pay $500+. Call service manager explain happens how car was diagnosed with "coke" problem before getting there. Did he test car why it did not go into gear his reply same " you spilled coke now it not work". Wednesday went something in car the manager said was sticky, asked did they check to see what it was they said no. Needed to know if I wanted to fix it or was I going to move it off their lot. Many questions no helpful answers all received was "give me the rental car and remove your car off the lot". I gave him the key ask for statement showing I returned car he said no. Asked for the key back to return car myself. I talked to Nissan manufacture turned complaint over to consumer affairs they made me feel less than a person. Asked did they know this happen to this vehicle they said yes. Why do they not tell people or put info on computer he was very rude. Asked why did I not ask if it was going to be a problem if "coke or something was spilled in the vehicle, he told me an economical vehicle not have luxuries of expensive vehicle. If I wanted a water proof vehicle I should have been able of purchasing a more expensive vehicle. I was hurt and asked why did they not have vehicle recalled cup holders in front of the gear shift. No one listen. Gear shift not working properly void emergency brake, have to crank in neutral. On incline car will roll backward out of control not yet no one has been kill yet I was told. Pray no one get kill before this is look into as a serious matter.
