7/15/19 3:40 pm rush hour, began entering a state rd to cross both lanes, traffic traveling both directions posted 55 mph moved in a straight line halfway into oncoming traffic, but suddenly could not accelerate. Had to quickly reverse to avoid tbone situation from both sides. Scared me horribly. Backed up more tried again to go forward before attempting to cross but the same thing happened. Engine was revving at high rpms but truck would only move inches at a time in forward motion. So I traveled backwards in reverse the length of the whole street I was on to get back to my driveway and backed up my driveway where I parked and called for a ride from my hvac tech who was meeting me at my church to install much needed ac unit. Only a couple days earlier, I had fluid leaking and took the truck in for repair, the tech informed me the transmission fluid and antifreeze tank had failed. The engine needed to be flushed, the tank, radiator and fluid replaced. He told me it happened all the time with Nissans. I will attach invoice from highly reputable repair shop.

Was coming from daughters game and I made a left turn outta parking lot all of a sudden a hear a noise and then grinding. I inspected brakes and underneath vehicle I noticed fluid all over front diff . I got underneath grabbed my drivers side axle and shook it . It came apart and was coming out of diff. A month earlier I noticed rear diff had oil all over it and oil was leaking out of rear pinion seal and both rear axle seals , due to axle breather failure. I have never went off-roading or beat this truck . I am also experiencing gas shooting back out of my fuel tank filler tube . I have had my vehicle to local dealer 2 or 3 times regarding this issue and it seems as if it's a guessing game . I have spent over 300 bucks there and my problem still exists . Then they guess again and says its something else. I know for sure this vehicle has had a rear end or rear diff already put in with very very low miles , with 1 st owner . I am being told that my last issue with front axle was c clip holding axle in failed and may have ruined my front diff , I traveled no more than 2 miles before I heard noise and I'm looking at a 1900 part not including labor .

Had transmission serviced and about 5000 miles or less later truck started hesitating and finally stopped. Investigated and found transmission fluid and antifreeze under truck. Had towed to nearest ammco station and they diagnosed problem as antifreeze in transmission smelled burned and said a complete re-manufactured transmission was recommended since all of the transmission components had been exposed to the anti-freeze and were burned or overheated. Talked with Nissan of gastonia nc. And they stated they could install a new re-manufactured transmission and radiator and external after market transmission fluid cooler for 5,100 dollars with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. They said they had a large number of frontier, xterra, and pathfinder problems with the internal transmission cooler inside the radiator failing allowing anti-freeze to leak into the transmission and destroying it. They said they had not seen the same problem with the Titans ans armadas. They had a campaign to help owners of the other models but not the Titans or armadas. The service manager for Nissan of gastonia said they could look at my truck but there would be a diagnose fee if I didn't let them do the work. The service manager at ammco said he would match Nissan's offer and give me a 36 month unlimited mileage warranty covering parts and labor, so I went with ammco. The service manager at ammco stated he had numerous Titan and armada vehicles come into his shop as well as the other models with the same problem. The internal trans/cooler lets anti-freeze leak into the transmission and it fries them. I just had my transmission serviced and the radiator flushed and filled. My 2007 Titan only has 65000 miles on it, and if Nissan knew they were having problems they could have warned me and I would have had the radiator changed out. This is really bad business in my opinion.

Rear end axle seals are leaking, after looking into this and several hours I found I could be caused from the axle vent not working properly, this causes the rear seals to be pushed out and fluid to leak onto the brakes, seems to be a huge problem and safety concern, I was pulling a small trailer at the time and nearly avoided a car that pulled out in front of me.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that after inspecting the rear of the vehicle, axle fluid was discovered leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the rear driver side axle seal had ruptured causing the fluid to leak out. The axle was repaired and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 75,000.
Rear passenger side axle began to leak and fluid went onto brakes.
While doing a liquids check I noticed the coolant resevoir was low. I added distilled water to the radiator and looked underneath to look for a leak. I found coolant leaking from the transmission line at the bottom of the radiator. As I backed into my garage, I heard the coolant reservoir pressurize and start to overflow. The reservoir was filled with tranny fluid. I drained the transmission and found coolant in the transmission. I don't know how many miles I drove the vehicle in this condition but I'm afraid the transmission is damaged and I can't get the coolant completely out of the transmission. I've drained and filled it twice so far and still have signs of coolant. I talked to a local dealer and they recommended that I keep draining and flushing until the tranny fluid comes out the same color as it went in.
While driving my truck I noticed smoke pulled over into a lot looked under truck and noticed fluid everywhere. Had vehicle towed to Nissan dealer. They stated transmission cooler line split caused fluid to leak out that caused transmission to fail. Truck still under power train warranty and refusing to pay for the repair. Had a child in truck at the time so good thing I was not on the interstate. If you google Nissan Titan transmission cooler line you will find many post on this issue.

Rear axle seal leaking, again. Same seal was replaced 2yrs ago. Could be safety hazard if rear axle fluid gets on brake rotor.
Yet another Titan with leaking rear seals. If it leaks enough the brakes get covered in diff fluid and the rear end blow up.
Rear axel seal is leaking for the third time, which can compromise the rear brakes with axel fluid. Nissan made the first repair at 30,000 miles under warranty. I paid for parts and made repairs myself the second time. Now at the third I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs, and they have refused, with no explanation, to help with this repair, even though they issued an internal service bulletin in 2010, to replace the complete axel with bearing and seal. So Nissan is aware that they have an issue with the early model Titans. I guess they are waiting for someone to be seriously injured or die before they address this issue.
Got in my truck to go to work today and while turning right out of my driveway the engine revved up and I was going no where. I let off the gas and as the motor rpm came down there was a loud bang and the vehicle jumped forward. Continued down the road about 200ft and turned around. Parked the truck. Checked the fluid. Metal shavings and chunks inside with plenty of fluid. Also noticed a leaking rear wheel seal on the drivers side. This truck only has 78000 miles on it. Absolutely unacceptable Nissan.
Had truck in shop for exhaust pipe falling off and it was brought to my attention that both the left and right rear axel seals and bearings are bad and need to be replaced. The axel had been leaking fluid onto my tires and brakes which could have resulted in brake failure or fire. Nissan will not warranty the rear axel repairs. This is the second new Nissan factory axel to be installed on this vehicle since purchased new in 2006. It is currently having the rear seals and bearings replaced at my expense. This seems to be a common problem with the Nissan Titan model and should be recalled.
Left rear axle seal leaking oil and accumulates on brake rotor cover. If not corrected , could lead to failure of entire drive assembly due to absence of fluid.
Noticed the drivers side rear axle seal is leaking fluid. Could potentially cause the axle to seize and/or brakes to fail. This is a major safety issue and should be recalled. Luckily I had a mechanic notice it before I got into an accident. This is a dangerous and expensive problem that should be covered by the manufacturer due to poor quality parts.
Vehicle has only 49k miles on it and had to have the right rear axle seal replaced for the second time. This time out of my pocket as it was out of warranty. Many Titan owners are having this issue. Appears there is no permanent fix for this issue. There should be a recall as if the fluid totally leaked out, I and many others could have a serious accident caused by the rear end failure.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. While driving 25 mph, the contact smelled smoke coming from the vehicle when she drove to the side of the road. After inspection, she noticed that fluid was leaking from the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The current and the failure mileage was 130,762.
Rear axle seals leaking. Diff fluid is getting on the brake rotors, pads, and wheels.
2005 Nissan Titan both rear axle seal are leaking axle fluid.
Just replaced the rear seals for a Nissan Titan 2006. Problem began at 65,000 miles. I was told that lack of fluid due to leaking could cause the vehicle to lock-up while driving. The internet is filled with complaints regarding this issue. This seems to be a major safety problem. Also had tailpipe issues (dropping from the truck) which is also well documented on the internet and, again, a safety problem. Needs to be recalled.
Right side axle is leaking fluid to rear disk brake. To fix one side is 2200. After searching on Titan forums, discovered this to be a defect with this truck. This is a truck that had synthetic diff oil and never towed, yet has such major failure so soon? this is a serious safety issue.
Within a period of 14-15 months both rear axle seal assemblies failed, one each on passenger and driver side of the rear axle. According to national tire & battery the entire axle assembly is required to repair or replace a seal that is leaking, at a cost of approximately $1000. 00 each time. This seems quite unreasonable and excessive to replace an axle that is in perfect operating condition when the only issue is with a rubber boot (seal) that is leaking fluid.
The rear axle seals in my 2004 Nissan Titan 5. 6l se started leaking. The current mileage is 89,000. The seals are extremely hard to find. When replacing the axal seals you also have to replace the spacers and the bearrings. Not only that but the fluid from the leak has got onto the brake pads and rotor. It started leaking terribly in only a matter of a few days.
I bought this Titan at tri-state Nissan in winchester, va. My brake rotor were completely rusted due to bad metal used - I had to replace them at 30,000 miles. My left rear wheel seal was defective and started started leaking fluid at 70,000. Had to replace even though I had extended warranty. Catalytic manifolds went bad and they knew it when it was under warranty - but they didn't replace them. Paint problem when the truck is cold - big giant spots in the clear coat. The manifolds manifolds need to be recalled because the exhaust is entering the vehicle.
I noticed a build up of fluid on my driverside break rear rotor and hub. When I took it to the shop, they told me that both rear seals were leaking onto my brakes and hubs. I took it in to get it fixed and was quoted $700. They then noticed that a TSB just came out that said that just the seals cannot be replaced. That they now are required to replace both axles, bearings, seals, etc to fix the problem, and would be $2600. They explained that if I didn't get it fixed my brakes would malfunction because of the of the thick build up of oil, and ultimately, there would be a catastrophic failure of the rear axle because of the fluid loss. Rendering the vehicle useless, or cause of an accident if it happened while driving.
2004 Nissan Titan 55,000 miles. . Rear seal leaking fluid, dealer said it was a poorly made axle and had to be replaced. This is a wide spread problem as I have read complaints on the internet. Cost $822. . . Lost traction on the front wheels yesterday morning during snow storm. Took it to the dealer this morning. Mechanic said we were lucky the wheel didn't come off on the drive there. Lots of Titan owners saying defect on front axle also. . . Truck is still in the shop and they want $1,100 to replace this axle and ground up pinion or something to that effect. We have also had this truck in the shop to fix 3 other safety recalls. Would appreciate any help you can give us. Do not understand why Nissan is not being held responsible for this defect.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the transmission line blew and fluid leaked out. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop where the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
Rear axel seal leaks causes fluid to get on brakes and can cause abs feature to fail. Presenting a hazaroundafe situation.
The hub seals on my 2006 Nissan Titan have failed. . And are leaking fluid. In my online research it appears to be a issue that returns due to a axle ventilation issue. I have contacted Nissan USA and they have not provided a resolution or reply as the dealer says the entire axle now requires replacement. Titantalk. Com has several reports from other owners experiencing the same issue. Please investigate. My truck presently has 70900 miles on it and was purchased in August of 2008 with 58000. The driver use is under 6k miles per year so this appears to be greater concern.
Rear axle seals are leaking on my 2004 Nissan Titan. Rear diff fluid is getting on rear disc brakes, braking inhibited. This is the second time this has happened. First seals were replaced at 48,000 miles, now leaking again at 97,000 miles.
2006 Nissan Titan. Rear axle seal has gone out and is leaking diff fluid all over the right rear brake assembly.
Rear axles leaking fluid on the 2006 Nissan Titan crew cab. Dealer states that axle seals have failed. Dealer also suggests new axles to be installed rather than replacing seals. Vehicle has never been used to tow a load nor was it used offroad. No aftermarket parts have been installed.
Driver and passenger side rear axel seals leaking causing fluid to get on to brake rotors.
I have noticed my rear axle seals leaking for a while and was told by the dealership that it was not an issue. I have now recently noticed when I use my emergency brake and rear brakes they have been affected by the leaking fluid. I was wondering if this is an issue they should address, or is it just regular maintenance. I have been reading forum complaints about people with the same truck and they have also experienced this problem low in mile. My truck is a 2006 Nissan Titan se crew cab 4wd. I have noticed the seals leaking since about 40k miles and now have around 56k.
