Passenger air bag recall was fixed but air bag light is still blinking. Dealer says problem is now with driver side. Dealer says we must pay to have it analyzed and then pay for what ever is wrong with it. To me an airbag is an airbag no matter what side. Tv news shows driver side airbags blowing up. It should be a recall as well.
Tl- takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule an appointment for the air bag recall repair. The dealer (western avenue Nissan, 7410 s western Ave, chicago, IL 60636, 773-776-8200) indicated that the part may become available mid spring 2018 and also stated that the contact had waited too long to request the approval of a loaner vehicle from the manufacturer. A loaner vehicle was not available while the contact had waited for months to receive the part for the repair. The manufacturer stated that they had expedited shipping the part to the dealer months ago and no part had been available when the contact called before and after spring of 2018. The air bag recall repair was completed months after the contact had waited for the part. Shortly after the dealers recall repair, the air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was to be taken back to the dealer for further diagnosis to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted again to address the dealer's repairs. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.
Just driving one day and airbag light comes on, flashing on and off. The dealer tells me that the spiral cable assembly, caused from pinched wires in steering column went out and driver's side airbag will not work. Took the car to the dealer yesterday and will have to pay for repair. I saw a fb post that NHTSA is investigating that problem on 2012 Versa. Are there any recalls and does it include 2011 Versa? any suggestions?.
Takata recall. My passenger airbag indicator light is flashing when car is on, whether I'm sitting still or driving. Nissan wants $120 to do a diagnostic. I don't have it, and don't feel I should pay it, as there has been a recall, but my VIN# is not included. What do I do?.

Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated for an extended period of time ever since the vehicle was purchased. Also, the horn was serviced more than twice and failed to function properly. The dealer (kelly Nissan, inc. , 4300 95th st, oak lawn, IL 60453, (708) 499-1000) was notified and stated that the failure was not related to an air bag recall repair. Therefore, the vehicle would need to be further tested and diagnosed to provide a repair solution. The vehicle was also taken to an independent repair facility to repair the horn, but the independent mechanic stated that the air bag failure needed to be diagnosed and repaired first. The manufacturer was notified. The manufacturer issued three air bag recalls, two tsbs for the air bags, and one TSB for the electrical system. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
My airbag light has been on since earlier this year. I have never been in any accidents. It just came on one day and never turned off. Its my passenger front seat. I'm worried if and when I actually do get into a accident god forbid it won't deploy. I asked the Nissan dealership about it and all they said I could do was to pay $108 to run a test to see what the problem is. I think that's outrageous to have to pay $108 to check to see if there is a potential issue. And then what if its a manufacturer issue am I going to get my money back and car fixed for free??.
The airbag light continuously blinks and says that it is turned off, I am afraid that if I am in an accident the airbags won"t deploy and my life is in danger.
