36 Service Brakes problem of the 2007 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 03/04/2019

During winter season, when more than 2 inches of snow falls, when pressing on the break, I have to press and release repeatedly for the car to stop at a light. If I try to stop without doing so, the car will continue past the stop light road mark. When I press on the break, the break pedal feels like it touch the road. I have experienced this more than three times. Each time I experience this, it has always been a scary one. One day, I was going into the back of a car at a stop light when I couldn't break. I had to press the horn and held it so the driver would realize I had a problem. I had to swing away as not to hid the driver ahead. I had just left my house a minute on the same block, so I was not driving more than about 10 to 15 miles per hour. Please help me with this safety issue with my Nissan Versa 2007 car.

38 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 01/04/2019

When I first purchase the Nissan Versa 2015 in sept. 2015, the car was used it had 15,000 miles on it. I test drove it a little bit when I tried to drive it off I noticed the transmission was acting up before I got off the stockton dealership. I brought it back and they test drove it. They said yes there is something wrong and replace it. Now, I am thinking back, the dealership knew the transmission was not working correctly. Before I purchased the car. The dealership convinced me to get the extended warranty. I am thinking why is a brand new car with 15,000 miles on it. . So, it took about a month to replace the transmission and it drove ok. Then in 2017, I noticed a small slipping noise, like a small drumroll every now and then. Then finally I took the car to oakland dealership in 2017 around 88,000 miles. They couldn't locate the transmission problem or noise. In a few days, I pick up the car and as soon as I drove it I hear the slipping drumroll sound. I took it back and the dealership said we tested and the transmission was fine. I was discouraged with the results, now it Jan 2019, many months later, and transmission slipping and expired warranty. The transmission slipping, more frequent loud drumroll noise and shaking while trying to accelerate the car. I looked it up on google and I noticed that Nissan doubled the extended warranty on their transmission. Today, I went to the oakland dealership and they said my Nissan Versa is not under that extended warranty. How can this be? there are hundreds of complaints and failures about the Nissan transmission. Nissan and dealership knew about the transmission failure in the Versa. Right now, I feel the car is unsafe to drive on the street because the transmission will fail an any given time and driving condition. Please recall all Nissan Versa and have the company fix this recurring transmission issue.

At 29,374 miles, I needed to have my rear brakes replaced. My auto shop and I both agree that this is very early especially for the rear brakes. I never ride the brakes or put my emergency brake on. With a 8 year old car with only 29,374 miles on it, you can see that I rarely even drive this car.

61 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/04/2016

I was approaching a stop light. As I approached the stop light I began to gradually apply the brakes to slow down, but the pedal went to the floor and the brakes did not engage. The pedal felt like normal resistance was there when pushing on it with my foot, but the brakes did not work to slow the vehicle. I quickly removed my foot from the brake, looked at my feet to make sure I was on the brake, then slammed the brakes and the pedal once again went to the floor. While my foot was still on the brake the brakes engaged and locked up about 2 to 3 seconds after slamming on the brakes. Once I realized the brakes weren't working I did not have time to avoid hitting the car in front of me and I rear-ended them. As I followed the vehicle that I hit to pull to the side of the road, the brakes still were not working properly. When pushing on the brake pedal it would engage, but not with the normal level of resistance. By the time I arrived at the location we were going to pull over at the brakes were working normally. We contacted Nissan consumer affairs about the incident and they said they would not conduct an investigation unless the car was inspected by a dealership. The dealership inspected it and said that they could not find anything wrong with the brakes. We checked back with Nissan consumer affairs and they said they would not move forward with an investigation and would not do anything unless a recall was issued. The dealership told us that the vehicle sustained over $6,000 worth of damage and that the frame is damaged.

62 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

Our car was traveling in a very slow speed on an on-ramp of interchange from freeway 110 north bound to 105 west bound in los angeles county. The traffic flow was in a very slow moving fashion. Since it was an uphill on ramp, I had to step on the gas pedal slightly to keep the car moving at a slow but steady speed. As the traffic got slower, I gently stepped on the brake to slow down the car. While I was holding down the brake pedal, suddenly I heard a "clunk" noise and felt a vibration. At this point, the car started moving on its own without a sign of slowing down. I immediately tried to step on brake with full force but felt the brake having no pressure at all. As the car continued to move forward with uncontrolled speed, the only thing I could do at that moment was to veer the car towards the right edge to avoid direct impact with the front car. By reading the owner's manual, I believed the anti-lock braking system function was being erroneously activated at the time of the incident since the dry and non-slippery road condition did not warrant such activation. And what made things even worse was, for whatever the reason, the car was moving on its own in an uncontrolled speed while the break pedal was completely losing the pressure due to the abs activation. This vehicle was being recalled and serviced for sudden acceleration safety concern due to the lower panel trim design in August. The liability insurance claim was filed for the accident. The mileage was 8740 at the time of accident. Photos of the accident scene are attached and along with other documents.

63 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/06/2016

While driving at 55 mph, needed to brake in order to avoid an accident. There was not enough room to switch foot quickly from gas to brake pedal. Rear ended the car in front of me and totaled my Nissan Versa. An emergency room visit was necessary. We learned about the recall last week through a mailing to our house. We bought the car 'used' through car max, so it took awhile for the recall notice to find us.

64 Service Brakes problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 09/07/2016

"Nissan recall" within my 1-year warranty, I've repeatedly asked for assistance on my Nissan vehicle through the dealership I purchased my car from; Toyota town of stockton. March 14th, 2016, I, danny, asked for help. Received some kind of help, however ended up as no help at all. An employee there referred me to another employee there to take a look at my car; however, ended up test driving it. He supposedly had not heard the unpleasant noises that I was referring to. He then suggested changing my brakes and roters. I went out my way after that day and changed my brakes. The noise was still there. I gave up on them giving me the run around. September 7th, 2016; I, danny, was driving on the streets when suddenly when I lightly pushed onto the brakes, the vehicle had merged to the left, which caused me to hit against the curb of an island. It caused both tires on the drivers side to blow out and bent my rims also. I had no way of getting back home with my car. I had to call a friend to come help me out in an unfortunate situation. I had to wait until the 12th of September to get both tires and rims replaced. What should my next steps be?.

65 Service Brakes problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

While traveling at highway speeds, I pressed on the brake pedal, and the brakes did not engage. Pedal to the floor- no brakes. After the initial "to the floor", I was able to pump the brakes to stop the vehicle. This is the second incident of brakes not engaging- the first happened at side-street speed, and I wrote it off as a fluke. Vehicle has an appointment with the dealership in two days.

66 Service Brakes problem of the 2013 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/25/2016

Driving in a straight line on a highway going 65 mph , stepped on brake pedal and it went all the way to the floor- no brakes at all. Coasted to slow down and tried again at 55 mph and brakes worked. Am trying to get ahold of dealership.

67 Service Brakes problem of the 2015 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/22/2016

The brake doesn't make the car stop within 15ft at 35 mph!. I have to keep the same distance with the car in front in local street as in freeway to feel safe. The brake pedal is also very soft and spongy, I apply all the way and the car still keeps sliding. I often end up in the middle of the crosswalk. Yesterday, I was stuck in freeway traffic and almost hit the car in front twice because the brake just slowed down the car for a little bit even when I engaged half way, and it felt like the car still jerked against the braking force! it is not ok and totally unsafe! I really look forward to a brake recall!.
