When my mileage hit 36,446 my service engine light came on in my 2007 Nissan Xterra. It failed inspection and the gas gauge stopped working. When I called the dealership they said it was the fuel pump and it would cost about $600. 00 to fix. Now there is a recall on certain models and they said mine is not one of them how can this be? by the way I have spoken to at least 2 other Xterra owners and they have had the same problem. If this is occurring in more than one individual does it require investigating. It failed inspection because there is something in the fuel pump that is giving a bad emissions reading.
Fuel level sensor I pumped gas and filled up my tank right after the gas gage did not go all the way up to full it said that I only had a â¼ of a tank then in minutes time my check engine soon indicator came on. And now the dealership is saying that it will cost me around $400. 00 for parts and service. After doing some research I found out that this problem was happening to a lot more people out there. No recall on the fuel pump/ sensor unit?.
