Fuel pump power steering abs O2 sensors yes it's available for inspection upon requests car shut off while driving at 70 miles an hour on a highway due to fuel pump because my VIN number is not with all the other 2003 Nissan Xterra's that have recalls on all of the same problems I have just for some reason my car has zero recalls which is ridiculous and not believable so yes my life was put at risk I took it to an independent service my mechanic because I can't take it to a dealer because all the parts that are broken and that need replacement that have been recalled on every other 2003 does not apply to my VIN so I've had to pay for labor and parts and the headache that I could have had this all replaced and fixed due to the recall and I would have taken it to the dealership immediately after purchasing the car in 2019 and since the previous owner didn't have any recalls why would he bother either I will not pass inspection if they do not fix this evap O2 sensor and now my fuel pump I would like to be reimbursed on that was purchased through Nissan dealership the gauge is no longer working just put in brand new part so I would like someone from the dealerships take a look at my car and replace everything that's wrong with it with every other 2003 Nissan Xterra regardless of my VIN number and I have check engine light on forever for evac leak replace catalytic converters exhaust system O2 sensors power steering fuel pump abs sensors I would just like to take the best care of this vehicle that I can and that would be done through the dealership replacing all of the recalled parts on this make model of the Xterra 2003 3. 3 l v6 non supercharged. The vehicle stalled while driving due to the fuel pump check engine light's been on for evap code for the fuel tank cap gas cap small leak and O2 sensors which I've been replaced but codes are still there no code has popped up pertaining to fuel pump car died at 70 miles an hour on a thruway at midnight not fun. 7codes remaining.

When I turn the key in the on position all lights come on and the motor does turn over. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the starter and a week later it does the same so I ran a diagnostic test and p0181 code and 3rd coil pack misfire comes on. When I contact Nissan mechanic he said there was a recall on the ipdm and thats why I'm contacting you all.
The Xterra started missing and hesitating (engine) eventually dying and not restarting. The missing and hesitation occurred while underway on a busy 4 lane divided highway, but thankfully made it home before dying and not restarting. Missing and hesitation occurred while traveling straight on and while stopped at red lights.
Exact same issue as on NHTSA campaign # 10v075000 is applicable to my 2007 Nissan Xterra as well. Nissan must recall the part on 2007 Xterras as well. This is a widely reported issue by other customers on the internet as well.

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph when the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact was able to coast to the side shoulder where they got out the vehicle. The contact noticed smoke coming from underneath the front end of the vehicle. The contact opened the hood of the vehicle and poured water onto the vehicle to put out the fire however the fire increased slightly. The cont6act stated bigger efforts were made from her and another driver to put out the fire. A fire report was not made. The vehicle was towed. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer. The vehicle had not been officially diagnosed the contact learned that their vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v230000 (fuel system, gasoline), however, the vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. The manufacturer was not made aware. The approximate mileage on the vehicle 241,496. Gl.
Immediately after I exited my building garage and made right turn on city street on a clear summer day afternoon the engine sound began roaring and vehicle suddenly accelerating. I tried to control the vehicle forcibly hitting on the brakes, shifting gears to neutral, turning off the engine but the vehicle kept on going and ran-away uncontrollably till I made two left turns and ended up on a side walk with the rear tire blown out and the car stopped after colliding with some public utility box. The vehicle has incomplete recall #r0402 and nhsta recall #04v-230 regarding the fuel sending unit. There was a local police report #200057082. Suspected causes could be flaws in the vehicle electronic throttle control system that produced faulty signal of fully depressed accelerator pedal.
The gas gauge doesn't work.
Car cuts off when driving and while car is idled. Fuels stops repeatedly when refueling.

Fuel sensor.
Car failed to start after being parked overnight. Would crank but not start. Had it diagnosed and the fuel sending unit replaced. The dead unit had a hole through it's plastic which showed a corroded electrical tab. It doesn't look like corrosion from a crack in the plastic as stated in campaign# 04v230000, but more like the electrical connection melted through the plastic, which then allowed corrosion. Nissan hotline told me that the previous owner had the recall taken care of already, but couldn't say if the unit was repaired or replaced.
The vehicle keeps stalling and running rough while driving after numerous repairs and several trips to the dealerships the problem continues to persistent. The mechanics seem not to understand the nature of the issue any assistance would be appreciated.

When I fill my 2007 nisan Xterra SUV with gas the gas register on the instrument panel will not show full until I have driven it approximately 30 miles and then it will register full. The check engine light will also come on when I go to fill it up.
Tl the contact owns a 2003 Nissan Xterra. After the vehicle was filled with fuel, it would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated there was a crack in the fuel sending unit. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 180,000.
The airbag light is flashing intermittent not registering passengers. The fuel gage keeps going up and down unaware of fuel level. The tire pressure sensor is on and tires have correct psi. Vehicle can be in start still or driving.
Gas gage reads 1/2 full when empty, while in motion.
While traveling on a freeway, disengaged speed control using brake, but did not originally turn it off to be able to maneuver better in traffic near a city. Vehicle originally slowed down, but after releasing brake in 3 seconds, car sped up on its own with an acceleration profile greater than the one when you are setting the speed. Tried several times to get it to quit with this behavior and finally hit the cancel and off button on the steering wheel. All cruise control lights on the dash were off and no check engine warnings were on. This did not help the situation. When brake was on, vehicle quit acceleration, so with brake on, pulled on to shoulder and placed vehicle in park and immediately shut the engine off with key in full off position. Waited 20 seconds and restarted car and made way back to freeway. Did not use speed control anymore for the remainder of the trip. At the time the odometer was showing about 19150 actual miles. Made appt with Nissan dealer and took it in. On way to dealer, I pushed accelerator half-way to the floor to speed up quickly and the accelerator slammed its way to the floor. I applied brake and vehicle quit accelerating. I did not quit braking until vehicle was below 40. Vehicle did not accelerate again wildly the rest of the 30 mile trip to the dealer and I did not push the peddle very hard the rest of the way. Keep in mind the cruise control switches were not pushed at all during this incident and none of the cruise control lights were lit on the dash; the check engine light was not on either. The dealer was not able to find anything wrong with the vehicle and said they should replace the cruise control switch assembly on the dash. I personally consider this a very dangerous failure mode.

Aprox. Three years ago, I reported a problem with the fuel gauge not giving true readings. After taking the car to be tested, I was advised that the sending unit was faulty, and the mechanic believed that there was a recall on the matter (he had heard of many people having the same problem). After doing online research, I came across hundreds, if not thousands of Xterra owners reporting the same problem. I called Nissan, and I was advised that there were no recalls on this matter. That does not make sense, for it seems obvious, based on my research, that this--among other common problems (such as the airbag light coming on)--are very prevalent, and seem to be due to a manufacturing/design problem.
Car just shut off in traffic loosing all power and braking causing me to crash into the back of a stopped car at a red-light. After inspection from a mechanic shop, they informed me that something in the computer had fried causing the car to shut off, and it had also caused the transmission control unit module to go bad making the car not drive able.
The vehicle in question started to lose power when driving this past Saturday. So, basically my car does start then after driving it a few minutes or more will stiffen and cut off. Thank you.
Coolant mixed into transmission causing electronic module to burn out. This caused vehicle to stop operating correctly and would not allow engine to restart.
There is a recall for the fuel sensor sending unit for 2006 Xterras, but I was told that my car was not a part of the recall because my VIN was not included in the recall. I feel as though this is a mistake, and that Nissan should be responsible for the fix of this issue. Clearly this is an issue for other cars of the same year, and I do not want to be left with the $500 fee to replace this faulty unit. The code of my check engine light reads as this as the problem. Please let me know what I can do, I do not want to be bullied by Nissan for this.
I kelp vehicle regularly mantianced shut it off one evening next morning it would start when finally started it wouldn't pull in 1st gear. Took it to transmission shop and found out that a crack had accured and there was coolant mixed with transmission fluid . So 3 days after I pd it off on a 3 yr payment plan it broke down on me . Very hard to find d a placement and someone who will do work on it bc it's so commo.
The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Xterra. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed and the engine stalled. The failure occurred without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and turned off the engine. The vehicle was towed to anything automotive (located at 1228 e river rd, dixon, IL 61021; (815) 285-3035) where the mechanic stated that the back seat was catching fire. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the fuel sending unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-647-7261 and stated that the vehicle was too old and nothing could be done. Case number: 27261028 was provided. The contact also stated that the previous owner of the vehicle had a recall in 2004 for the fuel sending unit. The contact believed that the repair was not repaired correctly or the replacement part was faulty. The failure mileage was 170,000.

Leak from radiator to transmission.
I brought this car in 2007 and have had electrical issues, and have maintained the car regularly. I was driving recently and only had 91k miles and the transmission just suddenly went without warning.
The terminal strip are corrode and can't be replaced because the pump got damage by the corrosion of the terminal, now Nissan do not want to replace the pump. Is not my fault that they using parts that causing those type of problem. I can't affort to pay for the pump plus labor.
For over a year we have had a check engine light on with code p0463, the fuel sender unit needs replaced. Our gas gauge never reads correctly and has said we have had gas when we do not. Sometimes it also reads empty right after I fill it up. After more research this is a highly common and expensive issue for Xterra owners. I believe that a recall should be issued for customers with this vey common problem.
Transmission appears to have coolant mixed into it. Also the fuel send unit has failed.
Extreme smell of gas after filling gas tank while out of town. Odor was so strong it required all windows to be down to drive without feeling affected by fumes and I was terrified that someone would fluck a cigarette out of a car somewhere, especially at a stop light, and cause an explosion. Once the gas tank was only half full or less, the odor diminished. Dealership found that this issue had been reported on other vehicles but did not qualify as a recall. Dealership found faulty gasket inside gas tank and required the entire tank be replaced at a cost to me of more than $2000. I can get receipts from charlottesville Nissan dealership.
