Anti lock brake light came on. Service engine soon light came on. Oil low light came on. Traction control light came on and switch inoperative. Heater/defroster fan switch inoperative. Interior/exterior air switch inoperable. Air bag light came on. It was raining. The next morning when car was started all lights were off and car seemed ok. Mechanic used scanner and found no error codes. On line search indicated that is could be do to ignition switch. Thus, I think the recalls for this switch should be expanded.

I have had a problem with the abs system on my car for a few months now. When I start my car the abs goes to set itself and the abs light comes on along with the brake light. As I have been researching the problem I have found that it is one of the main problems on the car, but nothing has been done about his problem. It is a very costly fix dealing with the wheel bearings and sensors. My 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue is a very solid car, but I believe they have a faulty abs system on them due to the hub assemblies. The average price for such a repair that I have seen is $500- $1100. Many drivers of these cars are not getting them fixed as it is costly. Thus this there are thousands of Intrigues around with the abs turned of increasing the chances of brake failure.

Abs and brake lights on, brake pedal hard to push. Slid on snowy road as abs not working. Dealer couldn't find problem at first, then replaced abs motor pack for $412.
Engine check light/anti- brake light and low traction light come on intermittently and stay on until car is turned off. They come on while driving in snow or slush rather than on dry pavement. Cause: speed sensor shorted. Repair date: 02/02/00. Two days later, same problem occurred.
Car is leased by my wife. We have both had identical incidents, independendtly. Both times, upon backing from complete stop down drives with some leaf cover, application of brakes resulted in absolutely no braking power, despite pressing very hard on pedal. Car moved six to eight feet before brakes applied. Very frightening. Have noted similar problems in your file, which is the reason search was initiated. Someone standing behind car would have been run over, no question. Will be contacting dealer; wife had the second incident today (first time I was driving and warned her about it- really spooked me). This was not an incident of our feet jumping off a vibrating anti-lock pedal; no vibration was sensed at all. Sensation was exactly like sliding on glare ice (I. E. No brake power at all. ) also, we were backing slowly, foot on brake with light application when this happened. If all abs systems work like this, there would have been countless disasters and no abs at all by now! thank you for considering this I.
