Service Brakes Problems of Oldsmobile Intrigue

After rounding a curve and seeing a deer and thinking how lucky I was that it didn't jump out in front of me, my engine died and I lost control of the vehicle. It went off into the drivers side ditch and hit a field driveway culvert with the divers side tire, which ultimately bent the frame and totaled my car. . However, the airbags did deploy and I had only a minor injury. My elbow went through a drivers side air vent. Since my car is totaled and the recall sounds like it was the cause, can I get my car fixed or some kind of compensation? I had a lot of keys on my car ring as a work for the city.

With no reason the engine will cut off, leaving me with no power to steer or move. Have been to numerous repair shops and they can not find the cause. I think it is the electrical switch that needs to be replaced. The cost is approximately $ 500. 00. Will general motors pay for this? should this not be on the recall list? this is highly dangerous as someone could hit me when it stalls.

The contact owns a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue. While driving 25 mph, the abs engaged automatically. Shortly after, numerous warning indicators on the instrument panel illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer and they replaced the abs hydraulic modulator unit. Through online research, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 00v114000 (service brakes, hydraulic:foundation components). The manufacturer stated that her VIN was not included in the recall, although the failures were identical. She believes that her vehicle should be repaired according to the recall. The current and failure mileages were 65,000.

Upon taking the vehicle to dealer for brake repairs mechanic discovered that the inner tie rod corroded. Contacted the manufacturer. The issue had not been resolved as of yet.

The brakes malfunctioned without warning. As a result, the consumer experienced extended stopping distance . Please provide additional information.

Nar 05/21/2003 the consumer request service related to poor brake performance. Dealer notified.

The engine will die going down the road at any speed, which is a safty hazard. When engine dies. . . It is very hard too steer and looses braking power. The engine then may not restart for several min. Takes several attempps to get going again. If a person had to get to a hospital on time it could make the differance between life or death. When ever consumer is backing up it very hard to put on brakes. This could cause and accident. Consumer hears a rattling noise and car idles up pass the normal point on the temperature gauge.
