The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact started the ignition and the front passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated. The intermittent failure recurred during engine start-up or while driving various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated the air bag module would need to be replaced. The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While driving 45 mph, the air bag indicator illuminated. The failure occurred multiple times. The dealer stated that there could have been an electrical failure in the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

"service air bag" indicator comes on and passenger air bag "on" symbol goes off occasionally at random times. Took it to dealer and they inform me that the passenger presence module needs to be replaced at a cost of approximately $750. Am uncertain if air bag will work when needed. Very premature failure for a safety related item. Vehicle is 4 1/2 years old with 47000 miles and has been maintained by selling dealer.

2007 Saturn Aura xe has air bag light on at times. Service air bag readout appears periodically, along with red air bag icon. Pressed on star button, had advisor monitor message, advised to get to dealership to have checked. This was done, dealer mechanic re-calibrated pps system on two more occasions, last time was March 31, 2011. Problem still ongoing. Passenger side airbag indicator reads "on" and "off" while average weight adult occupies seat. Cannot have full use of car for this unsafe reason. This issue needs to be a recall. 7-16-10 air bag light came on as soon as I started the car. Repair that was done states "airbag readiness light on w/dtcs b0081/b0092 in sdopcode:c9780. "retrieved fault code set 056. Tech inspected for dampness/wet damage, cleaned module & dried eassembled and rezeroed module assembly. Within a few months the light started coming on again sporadically. 2-3-11 took car back to dealer for airbag light sporadically turning on. Repair states "32031 tested for codes no codes found, tested circuit, no problem". Light still came on. 11-18-11 took care for dealer for airbag light. I was advised I needed to pay for repairs as my car was no longer under warranty.

2007 Saturn Aura. Consumer writes in regards to airbag problems. The consumer stated the air bag light illuminated, back in July 2010. The technician retrieved a fault code of 056. The tech inspected the unit for dampness, cleaned and dried the module. The air bag light illuminated again, but no fault code appeared. The air bag light illuminated again, for a third time. However, the consumer was informed the vehicle was no longer under warranty and she would have to pay a $125 for a diagnosis.

He stated the failure would occur intermittently when the seat was occupied or unoccupied. The weight of the passenger would vary from 120 to 200 pounds and the failure would persist. I drive a 2007 Saturn Aura and recently the service air bag light came on. I talked with the service department at Saturn and they stated that it would cost $1200+ to remove the passenger seat and fix the sensor. Also the passenger front door sensor that tells you that the door is closed malfunctioned. When you close the door, it tells you that the door is ajar when it is actually closed. To fix that would cost about $420.

I own a 2007 Saturn Aura with 90,000 miles on it, the service air bag light and chime has come on repeatedly in the past year. Service dept stated no problem. . Now I am reading about others who have had that problem that should be fixed. I have an extended warranty on this vehicle and hope it is covered as the repair is estimated to be about 1000, more or less.

I purchased this Saturn with 32k on it, two days after having the vehicle it started overheating and the air conditioner went out. I contacted the dealership because it was still under factory warranty. It took them a week to fix the vehicle because they had to completely rewire a few things. One month after that happened, I noticed when I turned I felt a popping in the floor board on the driver side. I again contacted the dealer and they had me bring the vehicle in and stated something was loose in the axel shaft and they ¿fixed¿ the popping by tightening it up. Three months following the above events, I noticed the popping started again. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they replaced the front ball joint, rack, and pinion. I drove away from the dealership and immediately had to turn around and return the vehicle because the problem continued. At that point they had the vehicle for five months straight. They say they replaced everything from the steering column down. Every time I called for an update they always had a different answer. I have replaced the rotors on this car 3 times now and it only has 60k. The service airbag light continues to stay on. The dealership says they replaced the airbag coil but yet it continues to come on. Now the transmission is slipping constantly in 5th and 6th gear. This car has been the worst car I have ever owned. I will never purchase another gm product again. I have had nothing but issues with this car since the day I brought it home. My husband was called to deploy to iraq and we had a 2 week old baby so we had to get a bigger car before he left. We only had 3 days when he was called up to leave (he was inactive reserve and was called up). I did not have time to research this car before we bought it. If I could do it all over again I would never even consider this car. Reading into it now, it seems a lot of people have had the same issues with this car.

On board computer sends message to "service airbag," passenger air bag light then proceeds to indicate that air bag is off -with or without person in seat. Happens intermediately. Have taken to dealer, but where told they could not replicate or did not have a "code " to reset and would have to just "see if it keeps happening. " consider this dangerous if in an accident.

The dealer diagnosed that the harness needed to be weathered. The contact did not remember the second part that the dealer replaced. The failures recurred every year since 2007, at the onset of winter. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 150.

My car was brand new when purchased. My car has a passenger airbag indicator. The airbag only turns on if there is someone in the passenger seat. On occasion, when there is indeed a passenger in the seat, the airbag does not turn on. Saturn was contacted about this issue through their customer assistance center via there website a couple of weeks after I purchased the car. Saturn told me to refer to my owner's manual for information on child safety seats. They did not offer to test the indicator or to look at my vehicle. Why wait until someone is injured or killed before an investigation is launched.

The vehicles has had a persistent problem with the airbag system, despite multiple replacements of the module allegedly responsible. The passenger airbag indicator will toggle to an off status despite the presence of an adult passenger, this behavior will occur without notice and with no change in the passenger's position. Additionally if there is no passenger the primary driver dashboard and information center will indicate a problem with the main airbag system illuminating the airbag icon, along with a message to "service air bag". This will occur on vehicle start or shortly thereafter. The red airbag light will at random times turn off, only to come on a few moments later. It may stay off for days or weeks at a time but will ultimately return.

We have owned a 2007 Saturn Aura, VIN [xxx] since it was new. When it had about 5000 miles the service air bag light came on and the passenger air bag went out even though there was a passenger in the seat. A few minutes later the light went out. This would happen off and on but the dealership could never find a code. Recently it began doing it again quiet often and was really intermittent. I tried onstar diagnostics but every time I'd push the onstar button the light would go out and they could never find a code. Only 2 months old, passenger air bag light, would read off when a normal size adult was in the seat. Also "on star" reported air bag inoperative. Always had brake problems with rear pads wearing out way before the front. Steering wheel lock does not lock, and I noted this after 2 years, as my wife is the major driver of the car. I was so sick of the dealer, I replaced the master cylinder, rotors, with brembo, and used quality pads. The government should have gotten after gm! there are many complaints!.
