The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the power steering assist as the cause of failure and replaced the steering column. There was a recall notification under NHTSA campaign id number 14v153000 (steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,716.
