I need to know why your system shows no recalls for my vehicle using the VIN number, but has (7) recalls if I use year/make/model, the system should allow me to run the VIN, see all recalls, and even report with proof if the recall is complete, like a check list. Your system is useless if the manufacturer is not agreeing to the recalls under the year/make/model and assigning the recalls to the VIN to grant approval to dealers to repair, a dealer will not complete a gm recall unless gm approves of the recall for a particular VIN. I have electrical issues with my vehicle that falls in the category of the recalls, but I'm not paying out of pocket for these repairs, when they are known safety issues.

Fuel line to throttle body leaked fuel due to stress cracks. Part that failed is " no longer available" according to gm parts sales. . Mechanic welded cracked pipe and said eh has fixed quite a few of these. I have receipt from repair shop.
Takata recall the engine is on. When I turn the key to turn the engine off, the key doesn't go in the off position. I have to turn the engine on again and then try to turn the engine off. Sometimes 2 or 3 times I have to turn the engine on and then try to turn the engine off. The car is parked.
Engine reduction, serious safety concern, was almost hit by a semi, engine reduction light comes on, lose power and car slows at a high rate causing extreme safety hazard in traffic, must pull off interstate turn car off to reset, happening 2-3 times a day, strong smell of gas, have a leak and it is not covered under the warranty, sooner or later someone is going to be cruising down the interstate and their Saturn is going to reduce engine power and they will not have time to get out of the way, they will be plowed down by a semi. Are we going to continue to allow gm to ignore this issue like they ignored the ignition switch probelms until it starts causing deaths, why not solve the issue before the deaths start to occur, it seems the older these year models get the worse this problem becomes. I was forced to put a date, but this is an ongoing problem that is getting increasingly worse with the fuel leak, maybe one day the engine will reduce power at the same time I will get run over by a semi and the car will explode into flames from the fuel leak they are not recalling for my vehicle.

Was guaranteed that nothing was wrong with it. I originally got a 2007 Ford escape by trading in my vehicle and 500 cash. They wanted me to put down an additional 900 down which I ended up not being able to do. So they offered to put me in another vehicle that was cheaper and I would not have to put any more money on. The 2004 Saturn Ion I received on 08/23/2016 not only had clutch issues which I said I would fix, but the battery light kept coming on and they assured me that nothing was wrong with the car mechanically. We did not even make it down the road before the vehicle broke down and had to have it towed. So now the car sits in my yard and I am out my original vehicle and the 500 cash I used originally plus towing charges and a vehicle I have to pay on that I cannot drive. I want them to come get the car and give back the 500 I wasted on two junk vehicles. I also had issues with the 2007 Ford escape. I was pretty much stuck taking this vehicle since I live two hours away and had no other way home.

A few weeks ago I noticed a smell of fuel coming from my car when I stop, or slow down. The last couple days the smell has bin getting stronger. . I see all these complaints, but nothing being done or it only for a few states. As a single mother of two I don't feel safe having my kids in the car.

Case # 8-1587665159 - 2005 Saturn Ion . . . I cannot get any help with this vehicle and I have gone through all the channels. The car dealership stated the ignition and power steering motor was replaced, yet, I have received no paperwork stating this was done. Ignition was replaced. If the power steering motor was replaced, it went out again while I was out of town, had a garage replace it along with the module but it also went out. Took it back to the dealership as paperwork from gm stated I should do but they wouldn't honor it because it was a used part. Previously, the gas lines had to be replaced as one could smell gas everywhere around the vehicle. I have been told by a gm rep that the car is older with a lot of mileage and problems will happen but gm officials knew about some of these issues when the car first came out . . . They did nothing for 10 years. The power steering constantly goes out, sometimes without a warning or sometimes with chimes. I am a 68-year-old heart patient that has to drive a vehicle knowing at any moment the power steering will go out and I could crash, yet, gm states pull the car off the road, turn it off and back on and it should be okay. This is not true. I am not able to steer this vehicle with manual transmission even though gm states, steering control can be maintained, as the vehicle will revert to a manual steering mode, but would require greater driver effort at low vehicle speeds, which could result in an increased risk of a crash. " I purchased this vehicle last year and had no clue about the recalls. Or perhaps gm had not admitted to them yet. I have no choice but to drive this vehicle as is as it is the only mode of transportation that I have.
While driving home from work my car died in the middle of an intersection. The a/c went off first then everything went off. I put car in park and after several tries the car started again. My ignition also gets stuck in the acc position(even after two ignition recalls) on a regular basis so glad I wasn't fighting that at that problem at the same time. Called gm dealer they said there is no recall but bring it in, they won't provide a loaner car but will give me a ride home because I live within 10 miles.
The Saturn Ion recalled ignition was replaced, but the problem continues to happen. On 3/20/15, I was driving on the freeway in rush hour traffic. The car turned itself off, and the brakes went out. I steered the car to the shoulder, and managed to bring it a stop eventually with the emergency brake and changing gears. I took the car straight to the dealership, per instructions from gm customer service, but haven't been able to get satisfactory information from either the service center at the dealership or gm customer service so far. The new ignition failed, causing the car to turn off while driving and my brakes to fail. This caused a serious safety risk. The recall failed to correct the ignition problem for my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Ion. The contact stated that when that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to stop. In addition, the coolant warning light continuously illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 200,000.
Engine would not DE-accelerate and hitting the brakes did not stop the vehicle. I was passing cars on a highway, and I could not get the engine to down shift. It felt like it was in cruise control, and it was not. I hit the cruise control button to make sure I had not hit it by mistake. I had not. I down shifted into low gear that did not stop the engine from racing. I put it in neutral that didn't help. I managed not to hit any cars. I put the car in a snow bank near a guard rail. There was no crash because I miraculously kept the car under my control and the snow/ice kept me from hitting the guard rail. (I felt like I was gliding. ) at some point when I was in the snow bank, I heard the engine finally kick itself down. I called the local police for a tow to my dealership. The dealership tried to blame me, but I told them it was mechanical failure. I was informed that there should have been overrides. There were not. The car was repaired. I was told that there was a high and low voltage reading to the accelerator pedal, and possible throttle issue. Battery replaced, pedal replaced, and throttle body service performed. I was told that this was "a perfect storm. " later I was told by an independent mechanic that the fly by wire system was the issue. This is unacceptable. I was at risk and so was everyone else. I do not feel comfortable driving knowing that at any time this could occur again to me or to any other car on the road that has a fly by wire system. I maintain my vehicle by regular visits to dealership mechanics, and there were less than 100,000 miles on my car.
At first I had starting problems. I looked into the ignition, spark plugs, coils, plug wires. A g. M. Dealer said I had a code that said #3 cylinder misfire. #3 cyl. Spark plug was the only plug that was not running to lean. At that point my transmission started shifting rough. With in about 1. 5 months the engine started hard starting. I decided to change the fuel filter, bought one from auto zone, crawled under car and could not find a fuel filter. My g. M. Dealer didn't know what I was talking about. So I explained it again. They came back with "it must be in the fuel tank. I have changed hundreds of fuel filters in my 50 years of being a mechanic. Every automobile I have changed the in tank fuel pump has had a screen to catch the large pieces that may get in your tank, but I have never seen a fuel filter in tank. Please let me know what you think.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Saturn Ion. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired under special policy 10187 at the dealership. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle completely shut off, the power steering warning indicator illuminated, the failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, diagnosed with electronic power steering control module failure, and was not fully repaired and the failure recurred again. The manufacturer was notified, the approximate failure mileage was 118,000. Rw.
Timing chain broke, after having cleared a tune up only a couple weeks ago. No other problems with the car, and from doing some research I see that this was a problem with 2003 Ions but gm had no recall information for me, on my profile page on their website. I am now without a car and no way to afford a new one, and the only thing I'm thankful for, is that I wasn't on the highway or anything when it happened, and it occurred when I tried to start my car.
Just entered onto a highway and suddenly could not accelerate. When hitting the gas pedal, car would not accelerate. The car was in drive and had been moving for 10 minutes prior with no issues. No prior issues before this. Pulled off the side of the highway and turned off car. When turned on again, would not crank. Lights worked fine but car just wouldn't turn on. Mechanic is not sure why car won't start still.
Ask a mechanic spring 2014, we had the recall on the ignition fixed on my 2003 Saturn. On September 9th my son drove the Saturn to detroit mi. About half way there on I-94, at rush hour, the Saturn lost power and began stopping. He was going about 70 miles/hour and didn¿t have extra keys on the key ring. Luckily, he is strong, Smart and quick thinking. He was able to wrestle the steering column toward an exit, while depressing the clutch and restarting the car. Thankfully it started! if I had been driving the car, I don¿t think I could have done those things. We called the dealership that fixed the car and after numerous calls, they said they were not authorized to tow the car and fix it. Now several weeks later and in response to letters sent to gm executives, they tell us the same thing. I am telling them their fix is not a fix! I don¿t want others injured or dead. Why is this entitled ¿ask a mechanic? we were told many years ago by a mechanic at the Saturn dealer not to hang extra keys on our ring. This dealer has been gone for many years. Maybe someone needs to ask a current mechanic if this is the right fix for gm vehicles.
This is the third time in one year that my timing chain has slipped on my 2003 Saturn Ion. I have read that the oil port is not large enough to handle oiling the chain. I have already paid out of pocket nearly 2000 dollars and it is still in the shop. It has messed up other parts of the engine every time it has done this. So I have to have other parts replaced also that are result of this. It runs fine then suddenly and without warning I can go to start the car and it starts having a spasm and then shutters and will not start. I am so afraid to keep having the timing chain fixed on this since I have read that it is really a fault in the engineering of the engine to start with. Please help. I need a number to call to see if there is a recall or will gm fix this problem that is surely their fault and not the fault of the owner of the car. It is a good running car and I did enjoy driving it but I can't keep getting the timing chain fixed if fixing the timing chain is not the problem really but is something else that is causing the timing chain to fail.
The contact owns a 2003 Saturn Ion. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start and the power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Car went for recall 7/7/14 about 3 times after the first recall I contact general motor to ask what have happend why tyhe car need to go back in again for the second recall Chevrolet sayd that they did not perfom the job right once again I contact general motor in deceber they send me a letter telling me and comes back with the same problems driving the car in the freeway car stop could not get out because car lock me inside the key did not want to come out after the recalls the car still have problems with the ignition.
I have had issues with my car even after I have had some recalls done to it. The biggest issue is when I am driving or stationary with my car on, the car rumbles and feels like it is tugging backwards. The cylinder 2 keeps misfiring (p0302). I have seen several Saturn Ions that are having the same issue. Over the past four years this has been a problem consistently. There are periods where it doesn't happen much and sometimes it happens every time I drive. Furthermore, my car still doesn't turn on/off all the way sometimes and the ignition switch messes up.
Hello, this vehicle is under recall and I have received notices since March 2014 about the recall. However, it doesn't seem that Saturn/gm is taking this recall seriously, as I have called them 3 times to see if I could get it fixed and so far they have said they can't fix it. When I called back in March, they said that they were waiting on a part and should have the parts by mid-April. I was fine with that, and was told to drive with just the key (no extra weight). They said I was put on a list, and they would call me when they had the parts. I was fine with this as I had never had any trouble with the engine losing power, but of course want to get it fixed if there are problems. That was now over 3 months ago, and I have not heard anything from Saturn/gm. Gms notice said to contact the NHTSA if I'm not satisfied with gms response to the recall, so that is what I'm doing. . Key came out, but car was still running. Put key back in managed to get turn off engine, however key would not release for over 15min! this keeps happening to me. Scheduled appointment with chapman Chevrolet tempe, az to repair according to recall instructions that I submitted to their customer service dept. They say they will notify me when the parts come in, but it has been approximately one month or more already. I believe my family and my self are in danger of a fatal accident or something; sometimes the car will not surrender the ignition key for in hour. Already had new key made at chapman Chevrolet which makes starting somewhat easier, before, it would take, often times, 10min or more just to get the key to turn. Please help chapman Chevrolet get the parts they need or stop ignoring my request for the honoring of the recall work I requested of them. Im afraid this will not hold up much longer as is.
2005 Saturn Ion. Consumer writes in regards to several recall defects and requests reimbursement for vehicle repairs. The consumer stated the vehicle broke down and had to be towed to the nearest repair factuality, where there kept the vehicle for over two months. After the vehicle was returned, the problems continued. The engine light was on and there was a problem with the ignition switch. Also, the engine vales, timing chain and sway bar links were replaced.
I was driving the 2006 Saturn Ion in my neighborhood. I reached the intersection at the end of my street and came to a stop/yield. As I took my foot off the brake to shift to the gas and began steering to turn left, the engine suddenly turned off. The battery light on the dash appeared. I was able to put the car in park, turn off the vehicle, and restart it. I returned home instead of continuing my trip. My vehicle is affected by the recall with campaign id number 14v-047. I had removed all additional keys from my keyring as recommended in the three recall letters I received, but I still believe that this issue was related to the issue the ignition switch. I have chosen to file this complaint because one of the letters I received from [xxx]of gm asserted that the vehicle was safe to drive as long as there were no additional keys on the keyring. . Saturn Ion ignition switch has been replaced twice & my car still does the key sticks, doors won't unlock but now after dealer did work the air bags off and misfire #3 cylinder & shifter loose & shifter handle jiggles out of place. Timeline: may 7 2014 ordered ignition switch mark christopher Chevrolet may 18 key stuck ignition doors wouldn't unlock - finally able pull key out but car was still running without key towed to mcc car not safe to drive, may 19 4:35pm received call from service manager stating car is there & part still back ordered. From may 19 2014 until July 27 they had my car. But June 4th stopped by dealership after receiving a parking ticket on my plate #. The dealership told me my car was never towed to them. . Following day they called said it was there. I kept calling for updates over next 2 months no one called me back that was because service writer quit & my paperwork car etc was lost again. My car is in worse condition now . I'm perplexed at situation that gm allows dealerships give customer car was allegedly repaired back in worse condition where is the moral compass I really feel unsafe & scared I may cause an accident & hurt some innocent person because of my car not being fixed properly. Mcc has acknowledged car isn't fixed right they backordered shifter because they say that's the new problem stemming from ignition switch recall. . . . It's been painful and tiring struggle plus my car is worth nothing now 7502. 00 3 months ago kelly blue book. . . . Now they won't even give me 3000. 00 I'm almost ready to give up & just take the loss of money because they don't care about me, you or anyone on the road . . . Having a congressional investigation did nothing but insight the dealerships to become rude & accuse customers of "wanting 10years cars fixed for free" quote from the service manager at mcc. Very condescending & disrespectful.
