Engine reduction, serious safety concern, was almost hit by a semi, engine reduction light comes on, lose power and car slows at a high rate causing extreme safety hazard in traffic, must pull off interstate turn car off to reset, happening 2-3 times a day, strong smell of gas, have a leak and it is not covered under the warranty, sooner or later someone is going to be cruising down the interstate and their Saturn is going to reduce engine power and they will not have time to get out of the way, they will be plowed down by a semi. Are we going to continue to allow gm to ignore this issue like they ignored the ignition switch probelms until it starts causing deaths, why not solve the issue before the deaths start to occur, it seems the older these year models get the worse this problem becomes. I was forced to put a date, but this is an ongoing problem that is getting increasingly worse with the fuel leak, maybe one day the engine will reduce power at the same time I will get run over by a semi and the car will explode into flames from the fuel leak they are not recalling for my vehicle.

I starded smelling gas real strong when I got out of my car so I checked to see if there were a recall on it I found one on cartruckinfo. Com so I called mcclinton dealership and told them what I found they said they didn't have a recall on it but they had something else that would cover it so I take it in after a while they call me tell me it's not covered because in has a salvage title and would coast me 2,ooo and something dollar's I live on $735. 00 a month that is the only transportation I have.

Gas odor coming from under vehicle. Fuel line next to frame directly under left rear passenger seat was leaking, fuel lines were rusted through causing gas to leak. Fire hazard.

We notice a fuel odor while the vehicle is being driven or after it is parked. A crack has become large enough for fuel to be observed dripping onto the ground and vehicle performance has been affected. (#09275c).

College aged daughter owns and drives a 2005 Saturn Ion with approximately 115,000 miles. We noticed a wet spots on the ground on the drivers side near the rear passenger door when car is stationary (parked) but never detected an odor. Took vehicle to Nissan dealership in maryland since we were unaware that gm owns Saturn. However, we were told by Nissan that fuel lines need to be replaced because the vehicle is leaking gasoline and repairs should be done immediately because it is both unsafe and dangerous.

Same issue as in Saturn Ion 2004 recall: rusted area on fuel line near rear door. Very sudden fuel leak (half gallon) when I arrived home and parked my car.

The dealer was unable to schedule an appointment and stated that they would call the contact back. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Same issue as your recall from 2012, the fuel module cracked and leaked gasoline. Nhtsa campaign number: 12v459000 was your previous information and my car, although not included in the original recall, just had the same dangerous issue.

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Saturn Ion. The contact stated that while reversing at 1 mph, the contact noted a fuel odor in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a leak in the fuel lines due to the material in the fuel lines having rotted and failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also spoke to herb chambers Cadillac of warwick 1511 bald hill rd, warwick, ri 02886 who advised the contact to tow the vehicle over to have it diagnosed under a potential warranty extension. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 97,656. Np.

I bought a 2004 Saturn Ion 2. 2l l4 (VIN: 1g8aj52f74z205097) for my son 4 months ago. It is now leaking a puddle gasoline after being shut down. I looked on line and there dozens of others with this problem (please see attached) yet my VIN is not on a recall list. Called Saturn 800. 972. 8876, they said it wasn't on a recall list also. Dealer wants $600+ for repairs. Any suggestions? thanks.

Strong gas smell & started noticing poor gas mileage and it got worse. Then notice it is leaking gas by the rear driver side tire. Also the running lights automatically come on during the day but not at night.

Strong gas smell noticed outside the vehicle as it was parked. Two days later had the oil changed at a local shop and they pointed out there was gas leaking by the exhaust pipe area at a connection. Took to draper Chevrolet who locally handles Saturn recalls and was told the gas line needed to be replaced and not covered by special case scenario. The repair was quoted at $568. Repair has not been made. Leaking fuel is an immediate hazard if in the presence of an open flame or possible accidents. It appears there are a huge number of cases where the fuel line has leaked on this model. It should be covered.

My gas peddle sticks!.

I noted the recall notice affecting these cars with this problem, however, when I searched, I found that this recall did not affect my VIN number. This car is a special rare version of this type of car called the "redline" edition, and so the VIN may not come up automatically, as only about 600 were made that year. I am planning on talking to the dealership.

I have had 3 mechanics look at my 2004 Saturn Ion. I have been advised that my fuel lines need replaced due to leaking. However, my vehicle's VIN number is not associated with the recall on this product and it should be.

After the car was looked at by a chevy dealer to have recalls preformed and the fuel leak looked at, they said, on paper, "c/s fuel leaking under vehicle. " "fuel feed line leaking fuel,active leak,do not recommend to drive. Replace for $689. 99 plus tax customer declined. " I declined because that's a lot of money, which I will take their caution and not drive the vehicle till it can fixed. I am bringing the car to another mechanic to have their claims verified by a none gm company. I live in NY, they used to use salts on the road which may have attributed to the issue, the car is 12 years old at only 62k miles. Disappointing. Car was bought used. 1 month ago at 61k miles privately, I assume the seller sold the car due to the gas leak and didn't inform me.

While traveling on highway, I stopped and filled up gasoline and I noticed a continuing strong gas smell in car. Thought I spilled gas on myself but later upon inspection in my garage, I found gas dripping from plastic fuel line (under car, right behind driver's door). A week ago, my car wouldn¿t start on the first try, but did start on the second. I went online to research the problem, and found gm recall #090226 / NHTSA campaign id# 09v419000, which perfectly describes what¿s happening. I¿m planning to call gm tomorrow about this, but I expect to be disappointed, since my car was not purchased or registered in any of the states listed in the recall. It shouldn't matter where I bought or registered my Saturn; if my car demonstrates the same defect, the repair should be covered by gm. I also found a scary number of complaints on various websites from other Saturn owners who are experiencing the same problems, but are also not included in the recall. How many is ¿enough¿ for gm to expand the recall? gm's failure to address * of the cars affected by this problem is appalling and dangerous.

Re the 2013 fuel system recall. Parts cracked and fuel leaked. Gm recalled and promised to replace system. My vehicle began leading in may of 2016. I brought it to the dealer where it has sat for one month. Dealer unable to get fuel filler assembly part 15918244 from gm and gm making no promises about fixing it or getting the part. They have said the problem may or may not ever be resolved. They claim the supplier may be able to supply by mid-August. Then they updated it to maybe in September. In the meantime, I have to rent a car with no end in sight. Can;t get definitive answer from gm regarding if or when part will be delivered.

There is a very strong smell of fuel - sometimes when driving, but most often after turning the vehicle off - inside and outside of the passenger compartment and inside the trunk. I believe it may also be leaking a small amount of gasoline. The smell is very strong and definitely noticeable, and I am concerned that if there is in fact a leak in the fuel system somewhere, that a fire may start from a stray spark, etc. There is a recall for 2006 Saturn Ions sold and registered in arizona and nevada due to for possible cracks in the plastic supply or return port on the modular reservoir assembly (NHTSA campaign 09v419000). My car was bought and registered in illinois, so it does not apply. Why would cars in all 50 states not be covered - if it has to do with heat, I would think that you would be more concerned for vehicles in states that have variable temperatures, since that could cause plastic to crack, too. I am the original owner of the vehicle - which has low mileage for its age - and I have tried to maintain my vehicle so I can continue to drive it for as long as possible. This is not caused by me, but a known manufacturing defect and should be fixed by the manufacturer at no cost.

Takata recall,,,I have been smelling fuel from my car about 2 weeks,,I took it to an automotive for diagnostic and they told me and gave me a print out of a recall that was sent July 2015,,this I never received, so I called a gm place where I prev had my recall done and said that my VIN number is not recalled for this problem! they said that all 2006 Saturn Ions are not the same, since my VIN # is not part of this recall they wont fix m y car,,,I dont understand , I am smelling fumes not only when I drive , but hours later it still smells. They said I could bring it in for 300. Oo diag. And then pay to have it fixed!! can you explain this to me please!?.
