It looks like my car is leaking fuel. Don't know if it's the fuel injector line or fuel pump but I know there is a recall for this on my car but it's not showing up on my VIN number.

Fuel leaking from top of fuel tank, coming from broken port on the fuel pump. This is the same issue as documented in gm recall 09226c, but because this vehicle isn't in any of the states listed I have to pay for it out of pocket. How can a recall only cover vehicles in certain states.
Takata recall the seat belts when stopping suddenly do not always lock up. This is very dangerous especially with kids. The fuel system has been producing a check engine light at certain times of fueling up. And the fuel pump will knock occasionally even after it's been changed. The suspension is really bad and dangerous, rattling noise and shaking.

The vehicle suddenly lose of fuel while driving. After access suspect fuel pump problem.
Fuel line leak. I own a 2003 Saturn Ion 3, with 120,481 miles on it. The car was garage kept till the past 6 months. When driving on 4/15/18, the car suddenly developed a strong fuel smell. The vehicle was brought into the repair shop on 4/16/18. The vehicle was diagnosed with a leaking, rusted fuel line. The leak was from line coming out of fuel pump. My research shows this was a known and common for the Saturn Ion, also seems that gm is aware of the issue. Fuel line/s should not rust through like this. This car is well maintained, inspected regularly at every 3000 mile oil change intervals. The vehicle was mainted by Saturn as long as they were in business. This is a safety related defect that should be investigated and a recall campaign started and I should be reimbursed for the repair.
Had to have fuel pump module replaced for exact problem as described in recalls of same model year Ion's but not for this VIN. Have retained photos and failed pump module assembly. Fuel odor from rt rr of vehicle first noted, then within days started dripping fuel from just in front of rt rr wheel well - found to be cracked pump module.

I noticed that my car smelled like gas, and then when I parked and got out I saw a puddle of gas under my car. My car is the Saturn Ion 'redline' for some reason I can't pull up my car only a regular Saturn Ion but my car is different. I could tell the gas was coming from the top of my tank. When I dropped the tank I could see that the fuel lines on my fuel pump were broken! the lines were broke right at the pump. On the Saturn and redline forum I see that my car isn't the only redline to have this problem my car only has approx 137000 miles on it, the fuel pump should not have broke like that. There is recalls on some Saturn Ions in certain states for the fuel pump lines breaking just like mine did. My car was put together in tennessee I bought it brand new in 2006 in new jersey and now I live in kentucky. I don't believe I should have to pay for a new fuel pump when this problem is obviously not just limited to Saturn Ions in arizona and nevada. My kids and myself got sick from the gas fumes and we're lucky not to of had some sort of spark hit the puddle of gas under my car.
Gas leaking from tank area when driving and sitting . There is a recall for fuel pump for 2006 Ion but don't say this one .
In October of last year (2016) I started smelling gas really bad so I took my car to a local repair shop and had it checked out (my local dealership is about 20 miles away). They said it was the fuel pump and it needed to be replaced right away and in my mind all I was thinking was my car could catch on fire so I had them repair it right away( $437. 79). Later I find out that is under a special coverage recall and it could only be repaired by the dealership for the repairs to be covered. I contacted customer care and was told to submit the paperwork and they would check into it . I submitted paperwork in January 2017 and have waited for response , now in March 2017 I decide to contact them because I have had no need they tell me that my request was denied because the reimbursement campaign ended in 2014. I was told that if I have the problem again they would be happy to repair it at the dealership. My car is 11 years old and 104,050 miles on it. I wold hope that the pump would last longer than a few thousand miles because from what I understand it has a mileage cap. So in short I am out almost $500. 00 .

As soon as you turn the key on the fuel pump starts pumping fuel out over the left rear wheel with out starting the car. I have read that the 2006 and up Saturns have a recall on the fuel pumps but not the 2005 why. Will they recall the 2005 models in the future.

Saturn Ion recall on fuel pump module; I am writing due to the recall that replaces the fuel pump module, but does not replace the fuel lines. I do not understand why the recall does not cover to replace both fuel lines and module, considering they are both affected and are a high risk factor. After replacing my module, my car leaked more fuel because my fuel lines were in such bad shape, and at the time I could not afford to replace my fuel lines. I could then only drive my car to my house from the dealership and leave it since it is far to dangerous to drive until I can save up enough money to replace the fuel lines.
The car wouldn't start right away after not running for awhile. It also smelled like gasoline. Upon taking it to the dealer, it was discovered there was a fuel leak and the fuel pump was replaced. After investigating recalls on the 2007 Saturn Ion I discovered a recall in effect for cars in certain states, ohio was not one of them. The recall mentioned that it was for cars registered or sold in the "hot" states. The dealer wouldn't even let my daughter drive it while waiting for parts. This recall should have been more widespread.
I started smelling gasoline and seen that the fuel pump was part of a recall. I've only had this car a few months and it came from florida which was one of the states in the recall.

The dealer gold star Buick GMC 1980 n davis rd, salinas, CA 93907 (831) 240-4859 diagnosed that the fuel tank, and fuel pumps needed replacement. The repairs were not yet done because the dealer did not have the parts and the contact was still required to make partial payment. The contact asked for a rental but her request was denied. The contact had to ride back home with her vehicle still not repaired with a continuing fuel leak. The contact was very concerned that her safety was at risk with her vehicle still being unpaired. The dealer mentioned that there was special coverage for certain parts under a warranty. The manufacturer had been contacted and did not give out much information since the contact stated that that she was speaking with her attorney. The vehicle currently has not been repaired at this time. The failure mileage was 45,000. Tf.

Looked online and seen there was a recall for the fuel pump module but only in certain states. This car came from florida but was purchased in kentucky. I smelt gas so I brought it to my mechanic. He says that the fuel pump had a crack at the inlet. I see that there are 2006 and 2007 Saturn Ions that were recalled because of this issue. I was curious why or if there were similar complaints for the range that VIN falls within. . Read more...
