With steering wheel held straight or turning, in town or highway speeds, wheels will pull left or right as road surface varies causing car to move in lane, putting pressure on the steering wheel to be corrected. It is as if the car wants to steer itself. This is an ongoing issue since leasing the vehicle.

Vehicle had recall campaign for rust on front lower control arms performed (among the first cars fixed in the campaign), and the lower control arms and lower subframe are badly rusted, rendering the car unsafe. Subaru dealer recommended contacting Subaru of America (soa) and soa declined to help at all. This is a failed recall repair, since the problem is exactly what it was recalled for.
I was driving and lost control of the car at 55mph. I struggled to pull the car off the road. The car was towed to my mechanic where he diagnosed a broken control arm due to corrosion.

Took my car in for tires and along with bad wheel bearing, I was told by the mechanic that the front subframe was almost rotted out. As I live in a cold snowy area and I often drive my grandchildren around in this vehicle, I'd like to know what is being done about this? I see that there are other owners of the same model, year, make that have similar complaint. I am also very upset that I was sold this car in 01/12 and was not informed of the front control arm recall. 5 months after I bought this car, I had to have this replaced. It was in the shop for 2 days, the parts had to be ordered from a Subaru dealer, why was I not informed of this problem at that time either?.
Brake failure at low speed coming to stop at traffic light, traction control light came on,brake light came on and check engine light on. Returned to dealer to repair. Dealer took 2 days to repair . At witch it lasted till today(12/30/2013). The same thing has happened again. Very scary you wonder if the car is reliable and always afraid to travel now. Have grandchildren and cannot trust this car. I hope someone can help. Have to return to dealer (again) to have them look at it (again). Wonder if they know how to fix it.

Regarding NHTSA recall no. 11v-464, upon receipt of notification, I contacted a local dealer who refused to make the required appointment for inspection of the vehicle. I was informed that there are too many vehicles to be inspected at this time for an appointment to made, and that we would receive a telephone call at an unspecified time in the future which would then permit us to make an appointment. Since the defect, if there is a defect in this vehicle, can cause sudden loss of control of the vehicle without warning, I am deeply concerned by the inability and unwillingness of the dealer to make an appointment to inspect this vehicle. What is the point of issuing recall notices and a procedure in which vehicles are to be inspected when the dealer refuses to make an appointment to inspect the vehicle?.

Clunking sound from left front, difficulty steering. Recognized problem from previous failure of right side lower control arm. Returned to my driveway (less than a mile) and called wrecker. 2. 5 ts with 49093 miles. Wagon was always given best of preventative maintenance . Driving slowly on city street. Clunking sound from right front wheel area. Some difficulty with braking and steering. Assumed it was ice buildup on brakes/suspension. After about 10 minutes increased speed on country road and became much worse, almost lost control of steering but got off the road safely. Lower control arm had broken and caused rust-riddled front subframe to collapse. Replaced lower control arm, front stabilizer link and front subframe. $1218. 02.
On October 2002, my mother was involved in a fatal car accident, when we went to view her vehicle, I noticed her drivers side door panel, on the inside was burned completely. This door was hit from the impact of the car that ran into her. I have been told that the motor that allows the window to roll up caught on fire and thats why the door got burnt. When the door caught on fire, my mother was burned very badly, as this was not the total cause of her death, I am concerned about a defect in the vehicle.
