The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

On 7/22/2019, our 4runner rear-ended another vehicle on the freeway. Speed at the time of impact was approximately 55mpg after hard braking from approximately 65mph. None of the 4runner's airbags deployed. The entire front end is destroyed. See photos.

I am living in korea with the us military. I just received this safety recall notice 1 week ago and move to the USA in 1 month. The local dealer states they need 2-3 months to receive the parts. I will be moved before that date.

Takata recall. I called two local Toyota dealerships about getting my vehicle in to have the airbag replaced. Both told me essentially, "the part is on back-order, we're waiting on a shipment, could be a couple of days, could be a few months before we can get you in. We really don't know. " in the meantime, Toyota has instructed owners to not allow any passengers in the front seat due to the danger the airbags present. A few months seems like a long time to go without such an important safety item being fixed.

My horn is not working as a result of a spiral wire in the steering wheel is shorted out. Within the same wire set is the wire that controls the airbag. Thus, I do not know if the airbag is working or not. Two safety features of the car potentially do not work, the horn, for sure, and maybe the airbag. The issue I have.

Needed to use my horn when someone drifted into my lane on the interstate. The horn did not work. I could not honk to inform that driver to stay in his/her lane. Afterwhich, I took it to my Toyota dealer. They diagnosed and discovered the spiral cable had an open circuit. They replaced the spiral cable assembly. From what I remember they told me this cable assembly carried wiring for cruise control, air bags, horn and something else. I do not recall the fourth item.

Takata recall no action from the manufacturer. Continued delays in correcting the problem is putting my families life in jeopardy.
