Spare Tire Problems of Toyota 4Runner

2005 Toyota 4 runner sr 5 spare tire bracket/ holder severely prematurely rusted. Dealer unable to remove spare tire. Lubricant applied by dealer to no avail. Bracket/holder defect makes spare tire unavailable for use and can lead to bracket/holder failure. Dealer unable to remedy leaving vehicle owner with no spare and potential for catastrophic event while vehicle in use.

30 month old 2003 Toyota 4 runner sport. Went to use spare tire for the first time but found places on the sidewall where the rubber appears to be melted. The marks look like they correspond to the places where the spare tire touches the undercarriage of the vehicle when the spare tire is stored. It looks to me (as a layman) that the damage is significant enough that it compromises the safety of the tire.

Vehicle had a flat tire while driving. When changing tire, consumer discovered that spare tire had a steel wheel while vehicle's wheels were alloy. While purchasing replacement tires dealer advised consumer that spare tire was very unsafe because the locking lug was only gripping wheel by a few threads. Lug was 1/2 inch away from wheel. *akjlg.

A second tire had to be removed because of excessive wear in one section of its tread. It is now my spare tire. ( dot number: w2hh awb tire size: p225/75r15 ).
