I was driving. A 2019 SUV with about 16,100 miles on it at about 60 mph in highway traffic on a perfectly smooth road and without any warning and out of nowhere there was a very loud bang in the back driver side of the SUV. The road was smooth, there were no potholes, and I didn’t hit anything. I had to pull over to get off the road and out of traffic. I was only able to pull about eight feet off the road onto the dirt to get out of moving traffic and when I got out to see what had happened. I was shocked to see that my drivers’s rear tire was completely flat and smoking. I was also shocked to see that the outer sidewall of the tire had 14 large bulges / bumps circling the entire 360 degrees of the tire’s outer sidewall surface. Being in a very dangerous situation on the highway in heavy fast moving traffic I had a call to 911 emergency come to assist me and they changed the defective tire. After the tire had been removed it turned out that the only visible condition seen was on the tires outer sidewall. The inner sidewall looks perfectly fine, all the condition seems only concentrated on the outer tire sidewall’s area.

The contact owns a 2000 Toyota 4runner equipped with spector advanta SUV lt265/70/r16 tires. The contact stated that the vehicle would vibrate while driving at various speeds. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that there were blisters on the sidewalls of the front passenger tire, exposing the white material inside of the tread. In addition, the tread on the rear passenger tire was raised and the contact believed it was due to a broken piece of the tread belt. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The tires were installed on the vehicle at 140,000 miles and the failure mileage was 159,000.

Tire with approx 35k miles has multiple cracks along area between the tread and the sidewall.
3 years ago I purchased 225/75 r15 from les schwab tires . The tires are rotting and cracking in the sidewall. Have been like this for about 1 year. I drive the car everyday and cannot see a reason for this to be happening. They are hankook tires.

My Toyota sr5 was bought in Feb 06, I have 7400 miles on it. My right rear tire split open on tread and was splitting around the edge and sidewall. Last Saturday on my weekly inspection of the truck the tires had no defect. Luckily it was caught before an accident occured. The dealer has ordered a replacement tire and statede it ws a defective tire. The tire was made by bridgestone, k0305 d840z p265/65r17 tubeless steel belted radial. My concern is that is made from a defective lot and that my other tires and tires currently sold have major safety problems.
I had just begun acceleration from a stop sign when I heard a noise and the 4runner became loose on the back left. It was making a noise like I had never heard before. I was able to pull to the side of the road after about 100 yards. On inspection, the sidewall had blown in a straight line from about 2 inches from the rim toward the tread creating a nearly straight gash that I could stick my entire hand into. I took the vehicle to gosch Toyota (the dealer who sold me the vehicle 8 months ago). They said they do not take care of warranty issues with tires. I took the vehicle to America's tire and they attempted to contact bridegestone for warranty authorization. Bridgestone was not open. The service manager agreed to try to call them on Wednesday.
While driving 60 mph rear passenger side tire exploded. Consumer was able to maintain control, and pulled over to the side of the road.
Was driving down I-95 at 70 miles an hour and my front driver side tire exploded. The side wall blew out on my SUV. My tires are 109s s2 kelly safari SUV, with goodyear as the supplier. I took the tire into goodyear and told them that I did not feel safe with those tires, they had less than 30,000 miles on them.

Sandy was traveling south down york road in parma ohio, about 1,000 feet from pleasant valley road when the tire blew out. Note: your web site did not have a highlander as the Toyota (so, I enter 4-runner). My car is a Toyota. Also, this web site didn't have the exact tire to select from, so please read the description here.

At 72 mph left rear sidewall separated from tire. Tire size p225/75r15 on a 99 4 runner. Firestone should replace all five defective tires.
These tires had been a problem with cracked sidewalls, which I had to fight with firestone to replace on one tire and the spare. Finally in March a freewy blowout forced me to replace the tires. All 5 including the spare. The blowout had the tread seperate from the casing just like the Ford problem. After seeing all that's going on I contacted Toyota who continue to advise me that these are not the same tires call firestone. I reeated me dialogue with Toyota as a long time customer that I didn't by the tires from firestone I bought a truck from Toyota. They ate not phased at all. They just continue to say call firstone. Well they have lost a customer with this cavalier attitude. I believe the firstone's problem is greated than just the Ford explorer. The NHTSA should expand immediatley this probe to other makes and models. ( dot number: tire size: 15 ).
Firestone wilderness at tire experienced blowout along the inner wall of the tire.
