I have a safety concern with the brakes slow to stop. I have replaced them I think twice through Toyota. But the issue never seem to totally go away. Below is the issue showing I am not the only one with this safety problem. But Toyota refuse to acknowledge this problem is real even with the campaign on it. Report receipt date: oct 21, 2010 NHTSA campaign number: 10v499000 component(s): service brakes, hydraulic Toyota is recalling certain model year 2005-2006 Avalon,a leak of brake fluid could lead to a change in brake pedal feel and overtime a degradation in braking performance increasing the risk of a crash resolve for me would dealers will replace the seal with a newly designed one. This service will be performed free of charge.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2007 Toyota Avalon

In my opinion and based on my recent interaction with Toyota, they are not being honest about their safety issues with public. Two weeks ago, I took my Toyota Avalon 2007 with only 33452 miles to bob smith Toyota because break fluid was leaking out from break master cylinder. 3 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2005 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 09/24/2006

- on 9/24/06 while the contact was driving vehicle at 60 mph and it unexpectedly accelerated to 75 mph. The contact had to apply the brake with both feet to disengage the acceleration on the vehicle. On 10/09/06, while driving on the highway at 40 mph the vehicle accelerated to 75 mph, had to hold both feet on the brake and pull the vehicle off to side of the road. At that point the contact took the vehicle to the dealership,) and the dealer stated that the gas pedal was most likely getting caught under the carpet. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle. While driving on 12/23/06 at 35 mph the vehicle accelerated to 75 mph, after a quarter of a mile contact was able to stop the vehicle by outing both feet on brake. All the brakes were smoking and there was transmission fluid leaking. At that point, contact had the vehicle towed to rosener Toyota. Updated 01/29/07.
