The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that there was grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake pedal seemed to go down closer to the floor when braking. The vehicle was taken to three different dealers and was told nothing was wrong with the brakes. Each dealer mentioned that there was posibility that the brakes produce noise whenever they were engaged. The contact stated that the vehicle had a longer stopping distance then before. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 27,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Avalon. While driving approximately 30 mph over rough surfaces, bumps or potholes and trying to depress the brake pedal, the contact heard a grinding noise and the brakes did not respond. He stated that it felt as if the brakes were rubbing metal-to-metal; however, the brakes responded normally after he drove over the rough or bumpy surface. The failure occurred approximately 5 to 6 times. The dealer and manufacturer have not been notified. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was approximately 150,000. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
