I have gone about 2,000 miles of the 5,000 miles an oil change should last in my Camry. I checked the oil because when driving and braking hard the oil light appeared briefly. I checked the oil and it appeared to be almost empty, I put 2 quarts of oil and it only brought the total level just above the low level line on the dipstick. This tells me I could stand to buy another quart and put at least another half quart. I've kept up with all of the maintenance with this car, having just installed a new oil pan gasket recently.

2007 Toyota Camry - while slowing down in traffic from 30 mph, as I reached approximately 10 mph the engine "revved up" . . . . . . I had to brake harder while the car was bucking as if it wanted to speed ahead . . . . After 5 seconds, engine slowed abruptly so that we thought it had stalled but it was just back to the usual idling speed. The car was brought in to the Toyota dealership on June 16, 2010 right after this incident. They examined the car, found nothing wrong and charged us $96. 00. This "revving up" has happened before but not as severe as this occurrence. Since the June 16 incident, it has happened six other times several of which were severe. The most recent severe incident was on August 21, 2010. We have notified the Toyota corporation but as of today, 8/25/2010, they have not advised us as to what to do. We are not driving the car until this is resolved and the car is found to be safe.
I purchased 2007 Toyota Camry le. I have had nothing but trouble with it. The car has put me and my family in danger every time we accelerate. It will not go. The car almost stalls out. Also when I make left turns the steering seems to lock up. I have to jerk the car back to the right to get the steering wheel to unstick. Brought it to the dealer and they tell me everything is okay. Of course they will say that. I think they train them in school to use that answer. I will be bringing the car back to them because this is getting scary. The car only has 12k miles on it. I have seen hundreds of complaints on this same thing so if they state does not do something, than they should be held liable if someone dies in an accident.

The current mileage was 37,000 and failure mileage was 23,000. Updated 09/10/08. Updated 09/16/08.
2007 Toyota Camry, very sluggish on takeoff and stalls on occasion, this happens on a regular basis.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving approximately 10-15 mph or at a stop, the vehicle stalls. The contact stated that the vehicle also hesitates as if it will stall, but dramatically decelerates instead. On one occasion, while driving approximately 30-35 mph, the vehicle pulled to the left. The vehicle has been to the dealer at least five times and they stated that the failure was caused by improper calibration. There was a service bulletin regarding this failure. Some dealers have refused to repair her vehicle and stated that it was designed to perform in that manner. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persists. The service bulletin number was unknown. The current mileage was 10,000 and failure mileage was 100.
I purchased a 2007 Camry le in late April. From the day I took delivery, there appeared to be a problem with acceleration; there were dead spots. That led to long 3 to 5 seconds lag times before the car would respond when pressing down on the accelerator. Also, the transmission shifted into overdrive when a steady acceleration was all that was needed. I finally took it to the dealer today; I thought that I would allow a 'break-in' period to see if the problem resolved itself. The moment that I began to describe the problem, I was stopped and asked if it was a 2007 Camry le. An affirmative response brought an answer that there is nothing that they can do; it had been reported to Toyota. Apparently to deflect what must have looked like rising anger, I was told that the service manger's daughter has the same problem. A call to Toyota of America brought a response that the vehicle is operating as it was designed (so, I guess it was designed to stall when making a right or left turn, changing lanes on the interstate, trying to go forward, etc). My anger is 1) that they sold me a defective car, 2) that they know it is a factory defect but choose not to fix the problem (I can't believe that they are still 'thinking' about a solution), and 3) that I wasn't notified of this rather major defect (and why is Toyota allowed to continue to sell these cars without the caveat that there is a factory defect that has not been repaired and Toyota has no plans to provide a repair)? I have looked at over a dozen web sights where members have complained, but I have not seen a mention of the reason for the problem or a solution of what to do. Someone is going to be killed by this erratic behavior.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice. The first time they stated that the occurrence was normal for a new vehicle. The second time they performed a flash on the ecm. The vehicle performed normally for approximately 1,000 miles, but then it began hesitating again. The failure mileage was 1,000 and current mileage was 18,000.
On occasion, my 2007 Toyota Camry stalls upon acceleration. This causes extremely dangerous situation when pulling into traffic from a stop. I returned Camry to Toyota only a few days after purchase- they replaced a sensor, but car still stalls. I have returned Camry to Toyota many times for same stall issue. In fact, Toyota is in the shop now with same complaint. The issue has never been repaired.
