Engine—was told by dealership that we needed a new motor because of lack of oil in engine - had not seen oil drips or any smoking out of muffler. No lights on dashboard. Only been serviced by dealership. Told us; we needed to keep check and add oil as needed until we decided on a new motor or trade. Either is not a good option because of expense. We are probably going to bite the bullet and have to trade with not being able to get much out of trade because of this. The car is in very good condition, no wrecks and had hoped we were to get more mileage. We keep check and add oil. Know this is just a complaint, but am sure others had same problem.
The problem that I have is the same as the one I years ago. There was a recall on 2007 Toyota Camrys for oil consumption. At the time I waws never getting the maintenance indicator because the engine would run low on oil before I needed an oil change. I am having the same problem again. The car is not leaking oil. It's consuming oil. I now must drive around with extra oil in the trunk in case the oil is low. I have been a Toyota owner since 1986. I have always thought of Toyota as being one of the most reliable cars on the road. I have taken the car to the dealer near me (Toyota south morrow, GA). Of course they do not want to further investigate this problem further. But I am sure is the problem. My mechanic also agrees that this is likely the problem. ? what component failed? engine / oil how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the car could stop at any time with engine failure, blown gaskets, etc. The problem is easily reproduce every oil change. Toyota dealership has reviewed the problem. Now the consumption is so bad I have to check the oil every 2 weeks. The low oil indicator does not come on. Is there another recall possible if this first recall doesn't fix the problem permanently.
Vehicles dash board is melting. Produces a high shine effect that reflects sunlight into the front glass, effectively blinding the driver. Toyota has acknowledged this in a “warranty enhancement program” but will no longer repair the dashboard as the recall has “expired”. The warranty program had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle. Engine burns oil due to piston assembly manufacturing errors. Toyota has acknowledged this in t-sb-0158-14 but will no longer repair the engine as the recall has “expired”. The recall had expired prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle.
I.
Unknown the engine simply started cluttering one day and gave in. The car has relatively low mileage. Toyota engines are expected to last > 200,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated and there was black exhaust smoke coming from the exhaust pipes. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had experienced excessive oil consumption. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
Excessive oil burn.
Transmission downshifts and accelerates without pressing the pedal. At times difficulty pressing pedals and then abruptly accelerates. Also, downshifts and slows down without breaking making it dangerous on the highway. Happens all the time. Everyday. Reading all the complaints about transmission. Criminal!!! it has not been recalled.
My car burns oil excessively causing an increased risk for the engine to overheat and stall. This defect increases the risk of a crash and could lead to a fire. With research and by contacting a local Toyota dealership, I learned that this is a known defect of the 2azfe engine. Specifically, the piston rings and the pistons are defective and known to cause excessive motor oil burning. Although Toyota has offered an extended warranty for this issue, I was informed by the local dealership that the extended warranty is no longer valid for my car because too much time has elapsed. I was never contacted to inform me of these defective engine components or that my car was given an extended warranty. The Toyota dealership states that they will only confirm this defect if we pay their mechanics for the inspection. Excessive oil consumption has been verified by our non-dealership mechanic. My car is available for further inspection.
When driving both of abs & break dashboard warning lights are on, rpm meter will go up & down, temperature gage is down. Unable to be certain the vehicle safe to be operation.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that she noticed that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact stated that oil needed to be added every 115 miles. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic suggested that the engine be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle had to be repaired out of pocket. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
My visors exploded in my face on two occasions while I was driving. My dash board is sticky and has a glare that makes visibility harder. An engine oil issue. All these recalls are expired through Toyota and they are refusing to replace any of them.
While driving home from school my motor threw a rod due to lack of oil. I had no warning what so ever before this happening. Not to mention just got my oil changed 1 month prior to this happening.
Well when I drive it loses power and also buns a lot of oil and gas and lately it been shaking a lot when I drive it I made a tunap to it but it seems to be the same problem.
I was driving on the high way coming from the airport giving a ride to a family member after about 7 minutes from the time I started driving, the car showed engine sign and in less that 5 minutes the car suddenly stopped. I have tried to pull it to a safe place as much as possible, then it started showing smoke in the hood.
3 different concerns issue #1: while in motion the abs and brake light come on, speedometer goes to 0, other gauges go crazy. Happens off and on throughout the day while driving. Took it to a mechanic, they said it is the abs module going out, to fix it with a brand new part would be $1800. Not only is it dangerous to not be able to see my speed, its a possibility my abs wouldn't kick in if needed. Regular brakes work fine.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry with 104,000 (+/-) miles and have noticed it's consuming a lot of oil an I have had to keep adding oil to the engine. I brought it to the dealer (atlantic Toyota in lynn, MA) where they've confirmed that it needs new piston rings which is causing the oil to be consumed at such a a great rate. I've done some research and have identified that this is a problem that Toyota is aware of and in the past has offered fixes (replacing the pistons, etc). I believe they called it a warranty enhancement program back in 2015-2016. I was not offered to have my vehicle repaired under this warranty effort.
Abs brake system failure while driving. Loss of brakes, power steering, engine power while on a busy street approaching an intersection.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While driving, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle shook. The vehicle was taken to hamer Toyota (located at 11041 sepulveda blvd, mission hills, CA 91345, (855) 592-7001) and was informed that there was no oil in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
Toyota Camry 2007 engine consumes excessive oil. Toyota issued a TSB for this problem but because my car is more than 10 years old and had over 150k miles, it was not covered by the TSB. They estimate it will cost $5000 to fix the problem, which is outrageous.
In 2019, one of the value springs broke in the engine of 2007 Toyota Camry xle with 3. 5l v6 engine which required the engine to be replaced. The engine had just over 100k miles on it. I am reporting this because I found out that there was a recall on 2005-2008 Lexus vehicle with 3. 5l v6 engines.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the dashboard was extremely hot and had started melting. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and it was determined that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact also stated that a quart of engine oil needed to be added each time the vehicle was refueled. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing unknown engine repairs. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired however, the abnormal oil consumption persisted. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I can not see well because the dash shinya, it is melting and sticky. Oil consumption with my Camry 2007 I need always check the oil every single week.
Around 1,200 miles, I have to add 1 quart of engine oil. Dash board is melt and stick.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. While the contact's vehicle was idling at a stop light, it was rear ended by another vehicle. The air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained neck and lower back injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact was able to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. When the contact attempted to drive the vehicle, it failed to start. The contact powered off and restarted the engine, but the vehicle failed to drive and began shaking. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence and later towed to a collision center where it was diagnosed that the po171/02 sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
Excessive engine oil usage. 1 plus quarts of oil every 1000 miles approx. Engine has approx 91000 miles on it.
Oil light was flashing, so I took to my mechanic. He said the oil had used 3qts in less than a month (last oil change) and that the coolant was bone dry. It turns out its a head gasket/engine issue. He let me know he had multiple 2007 Camrys with this issue, and that the dealership has an open 'campaign'? or recall. I have left a message for the local Toyota dealership.
On July 9, 2018, vehicle was taken to a Toyota dealership for regular maintenance and to check on intermittent engine knocking. We were told that there was a problem with the pistons and cost for repair would be $4,400. 00. Repair would include: kits, clamps, hoses, pistons and piston pins. Vehicle was taken to a second Toyota dealer who suggested either a used engine or a rebuilt one. Estimated cost would be between $5,000. 00 and $6,000. 00.
2007 Camry started consuming oil like crazy around 100,000. Coolant also starting to disappear.
Excessive oil consumption.
Takata recalls dash board is sticky air bag sign off.
My 2007 Toyota solora cuts off as I'm driving! I just purchased this car found out it has a few recalls ! I'm scared , this is very dangerous! what's wrong with my car?.
The engine burns 1. 5 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. Toyota told me that the TSB expired at the end of 2016 and were unwilling to pay for any repairs.
My Toyota Camry se 2007 model consumes excessive oil. The oil gone at 2400 km after I changed the oil. And the paint right above the door and on the spoiler start getting peeling off.
My car is comsuming 13/4 quarts of oil for 1200 miles.
