general problems of the 2007 Toyota Camry - part 2

Was doing a 3000 mile oil change 3/29/2018 and only 1. 5 quarts came out. Called the dealer who said its out of warranty, cant do anything for us. We bought this car used from them may 2017, they didn't tell us about the TSB. All oil changes have been normal until last week. Crooks!.

Engine consumes 3 to 4 quarts of oil every 500 to 700 miles.

Car consumes a lot of oil where the engine may run out of oil and seize up. I'm afraid to drive the car without constantly checking the oil level. The car can use around a quart of oil every 1000 miles. I've been low 2. 5 quarts out of 4. 5 qt capacity which I beleive damage the engine.

Recently purchased car wit 85,000 miles not at 92,000 we realize it is using a quart of oil every 300 to 500 miles. This is unrealistic and have heard of numerous complaints and actions that I was unaware of by Toyota.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that he would have to apply additional oil to the vehicle in between oil changes without warning. As time went on ,the contact start to have to add an additional gallon of oil in between oil changes. . The contact had yet to take the vehicle to a dealer or mechanic to be diagnosed. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000. Jo.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the oil level warning light illuminated. The contact checked the oil level and became aware that the vehicle had no oil in the engine. The contact added oil and took the vehicle to the dealer. The contact was informed that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil and that TSB-0030-15 had expired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the service bulletin TSB-0030-15 had already expired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Takata recall: I took my 2007 Toyota Camry 4 cyl for the bulletin it has of oil consuption and it pass the test twice, I knew there was something wrong but as the technicians told me it was okay I drove it like that for some months still had to add every 1,000 miles 1 q of oil. Kept doing this until my engine blew. Now irs my fault and they dont want to pay for the repair. Total unjustice from Toyota.

Every since I purchase this car it has been using excessive oil. Ever so often the blinking oil light would come on causing me to stop and pour oil in. Zthis has occurred in motion and on city highways.

Dear sir/ madam, I have had my car Toyota Camry since 2009(it is a 2007 model). In the July of 2017 my car started using more oil than usual with frequent top -offs. I had the car checked at Toyota dealership (dublin Toyota in dublin, California in July 2017) and they informed me that my car 's engine could be defective since a Toyota bulletin for defective engine repair had been released for that model. I had taken my car to Toyota dealerships (gladstone Toyota in portland, oregon) several times before that for other recall notices such as the accelerator getting stuck etc. But no one had informed me of this bulletin or defect. I've also received recall notices from Toyota for other repairs for which I promptly took my car to their dealerships. But I have not received the extended warranty policy bulletin for this problem via mail or email to this date. Dublin Toyota employees suggested I call the company to resolve this problem otherwise I would have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket if I chose to get it repaired. I called Toyota and spoke to a manager but they refused to help or repair the engine stating that my car was a few hundred miles out of warranty per the technical service bulletin. Now, my car consumes oil very quickly and I must and have to top it off every 12-15 days. It has a mileage of around 164000 at present. Regardless, my point 1) I was never informed of this defect by the company(Toyota) 2) this is a manufacturing defect and this should not have a mileage limit on it. I need this car for commuting to work and I have already been affected by the wildfires in santa rosa, California. I would appreciate your attention to this matter or can you connect me to the right organization /agency/ person who could help me with this issue?.

I have been adding a quart of oil every 700 to 1,000 miles, sense may bought the car in February.

Car goes through over a quart of oil every thousand miles. Toyota has known about problem since 2011 but will not honor because the car is just over 10 years old and has 150,010 miles on it. (warranty is 10 years or 150,000 miles) never was sent a recall notice. Contacted Toyota. Would not honor.

Takata recall ive been waiting for the recall when I saw recall for the year and model and make I was like finally but come to find out the VIN number wasn't recalled but needs to be. Goes off and have to pull over to turn back on.

The car keeps consuming too much oil. I have to put in new oil about every 1,000 miles.

Toyota will not honor recall of bad rings. Have wasted many work days at dealer ship. Have gotten proof that there is a problem they refuse to honor extension. Burns 2 and a 1/4 quarts of oil in 1100 miles!.

Law oil after 1200 miles.

I am having to add 1-2 quarts of engine oil to my engine 1000-1200 miles after regularly scheduled oil changes.

The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who diagnosed that there was no oil in the engine. The contact stated that the oil was replaced every 3,000 miles. There were no warning lights illuminated. Excessive oil usage.

/c problems. The service guy stated the problem was not with work Toyota did on the car. It has been one thing after another. I love my Toyota. This is lousy service. I know it has been quite some time since all of this was done. I just have not felt up to voicing my complaint. Unhappy with Toyota service at herrin gear Toyota in jackson, ms.

The abs and brake lights of my Toyota 2007 Camry come on and off intermittently. When the lights are on, the whole dashboard readers; the speedometer, rpm, engine temperature and other gauges jump and flicker, the light markers for transmission gear and parking go off. The ac unit also did not work. I went to dealer to get it checked out but there were no codes to diagnose the issue. I was told to come back again when it happens for longer than a day. It keeps happening at various times of the day (morning and evening), when the car is stopped or moving, and on all types of roads and driving conditions (city streets, highway, at a stop light, at a stop sign, when I am turning). I have noticed that Toyota has already issued a recall for the same issue for the 2007 Camry hybrid. Given the sheer number of complaints I have read about this issue for the regular Camry 2007, it seems ridiculous that Toyota has not issued a recall for this for the 2007 Camry.

The technician informed the owner of Toyota's limited service campaign (ze7). The vehicle was not repaired per the expired campaign. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

Excessive engine oil consumption. Penske Toyota of downey would not fix my car when I took it in. I received a letter from corporate Toyota. I also received a letter on the sticky dash board. They replaced the dash board but, they would not fixed my engine problem. I took their word for it and now I have to check my oil often and keep oil in my trunk. I never get an oil warning light. I just have to make sure by checking it often. Penske refused to fix my car, they told me it was normal for my car to lose oil. I was made aware of both problems back to back by corporate Toyota but penske said no. No problem here according to them. So… the problem just got worst and worst over time.

While the vehicle is in motion it hesitates to switch gears from 2nd to 3rd gear. As you accelerate. At times there is a jerk as it is doing so. This causes me to either slow down or speed up until it goes into gear.

Engine is consuming quarts of oil (5-9 qts) between oil changes.

My car will burn throu +2 quarts of oil before I would reach 1200 miles having to change my oil every 1200 mile or adding 2+ quarts . If I forget to add or change oil engine will tick loud and I would lose acceleration power. I once forgot to add oil and trying to pull out in to traffic not realizing the lost of power I almost got t bone .

Around 100,000 miles I noticed my Camry engine was consuming more oil than it did previously. Now it's consuming around a quart every 1200 miles.

Takata recall I have took my car to the dealership and they said they would fix it and give me a new motor after waiting six mouths they took my old motor apart and never fixed it I left the dealership with the motor sitting in the car. Now I have no motor and I'm still paying on the car the dealership won't fix it and the corporation will do nothing either I only got to drive my car for four months of having it. My car was still running when I took it to the dealership but was knocking and they lied about doing test on it and much more because they didn't have anyone that knew how to work on it . This was roberts Toyota in columbia TN they lied to me and now my cars motor is in peaces please help.

I took this vehicle to the dealer (morristown Toyota on Jun 20,2015) to check why the light engine is on. The dealer diagnosed the problem as ' tech scanned for codes and found po137 oxygen sensor circuit low bank 1 sensor 2' not sure if this is normal to have this problem for a car like Camry. Besides, it has several other problems since I bought. I have warranty at that time, all those were covered. I am really concern the quality of this manufacturer. I am bringing this issue here to see if this is a real issue or not and other should be concern about this.

Air compressor no good had it replaced at the dealer but not working, replaced engine due to over use of oil dealership stated it was normal use.

After driving 3000 miles I am down a quart of oil. I received a recall notice on this issue and when I brought it back they told me to return after 1000 miles I returned after 1000 miles and hey told me there is nothing rongwith the car. The car is still down a quart after 3,000 mile.

- 2007 Camry has been consuming unreal amount of engine oil. - I took it to the delearship; and they mentioned replacement of pistons will be covered under factory warranty but if the engine is damaged they will not cover it. At this point, I am not even sure the piston is not working as it was supposed to. - the car was bought brand new and the defect on engine was brought to our attention only a month ago in 2015.
