1 Antilock/traction Control/electronic Limited Slip Abs Warning Light problem of the 2012 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 02/26/2025

The contact owned a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while her teenager daughter was driving at 35 mph during traffic, the vehicle suddenly accelerated while trying to depress on the break. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact's daughter kept on depressing the brake pedal but the vehicle kept increasing its speed up to 39 mph and the brake failed to respond. As a result, the vehicle rear-ended a vehicle that was in front, then that vehicle crashed into another vehicle that was in front of her. The contact's daughter suffered from whiplash, but no serious injuries can be reported at the time. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to gerber collision center, where an appraiser deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

2 Antilock/traction Control/electronic Limited Slip Abs Warning Light problem of the 2008 Toyota Camry

Failure Date: 02/02/2022

Brake actuator failure is too common in this vehicle. Needs to be an open warranty without limitation. This is a safety issue Toyota should be handling. On June 25, 2014, Toyota initiated a warranty enhancement program (ze1) to extend warranty coverage for the brake actuator assembly and skid control ecu/brake pedal stroke sensor in certain my 2007 to 2011 Toyota Camry hybrid vehicles. Toyota's program covers repairs related to two conditions: internal malfunctions of the brake actuator assembly; and overly sensitive monitoring logic for the brake pedal stroke sensor. Melting dash is ridiculous as well. I can only imagine what kind of cancer I will be getting from inhaling the noxious fumes from the melting dash.
