Navigational (global Positioning System) Gps Problems of Toyota Camry

The speedometer and odometer on the Camry are grossly inaccurate. During a recent road trip upon a odometer speedometer checkpoint used by interstate truck drivers of which I am one the vehicle revealed that it calibrates one mile at 4900 feet. Toyota was notified about this on three separate service occasions and they have failed to correct this deficiency. As it turns out the Toyota Camry is the most rented mid-sized car in north America which means that there is considerable overcharging of miles. This deficiency also causes significant overcharging of insurance rates and premature wear of privately owned vehicles. The speedometer has been cross checked against gps and tomtom navigation systems and revealed itself to be at least 16 miles per hour off at highway speed on five separate occasions. . The cars over reporting of speed, and milage indicates false epa milage estimates. Toyota has not discovered access in repairing this error.

Push to talk usually does not work. Gps not recognizing verified addresses and very inaccurate. Bluetooth connection of phone and Toyota system disconnecting and connecting during calls. Have documented each problem with photos and witnesses, but since can not be duplicated in shop, they ignore. Toyota dealer and national claimed a software update needed, but none available and they do not seem to care about problem, now just a case number to national. Dealer has tried. This appears to be a known problem with Toyota. This occurs stationary and what is allowed, when driving. Toyota not standing by warranty and will not replace unit!.

The audio system when connected to usb don't respond some times. Touch screen is soo cheap. In built gps responds very slowly. While taking exit it says just before the exit comes. The screen some times flickers when we change to reverse when the reverse camera displays. Totally not satisfied with audio and gps system. It's even more costly. 90% costumes don't use the gps in the car for real due to bad maps and software.

I had been having rpoblems with the gps. I took it to dasyton Toyota,dayton,NJ twice today. Each time I was told it was working properly. I had them select "home". As I left, it turned on nj522 & was told to turn right (wrong) last week I put an address in for white plains,NY (normally 1. 5 hrs. ) after 2. 5 hours,our son had to find us to lead us to the address. Often. It will taks us off a hwy, them put us back on the same highway. Auto is leased & under the NJ lemon law, if the car doesn't meet uniform conformity it must be considered a lemon, and can be returned to the dealer with no loss to leasee. I want a total refund ofr the 12 month payments & my deposit thank you.

The dashboard is cracking and melting--it has affected the gps and I am afraid other instruments may be affected as well-- the melting causes a terrible glare in the windshield making driving it safely ialmost impossible--this is a one owner-well maintained auto--I contacted the dealer and was told this is a relatively common problem with '04 solaras and a repair was offered for about $3,000.

Consumer expresses discontent over the replacement cost to update a gps system in 2009 Toyota Camry the consumer stated the memory cd for the gps needs to be updated. The dealer wanted to charge the consumer $199. 00 for simply replacing the cd with an updated version. The consumer stated manufacturers shouldn't be allowed to charge exorbitant amounts money for a part that has an intrinsic value or cost of a dollar.
