Dear sir/madam, Toyota 2012 car remote key can open the doors of other Toyota cars. For instance, a remote key of a Toyota corolla can open the doors of a Toyota Camry. This creates a big safe/security problem. Toyota needs to recall these cars made in 2011-2012 to rectify this problem. Thank you for your attention. Best regards, sixue.

I drove this 2012 Camry on the high way to nashville TN for 8 days vocation started 28 June 2014, lot of water coming out from carpet, had to stop and clean water in every couple hours(my hand was injured when cleaning up water). After I arrived a hotel, I searched on the internet and found out that Toyota had a recall in Dec 2013 on this a/c water leak, it can cause "airbag warning light", electronic power steering light", or other problems. We are very worried about car may cause accident in the whole vocation. ------ after back to rochester NY, called Toyota and they told me go to Toyota service to repair this problem; so I went to henrietta NY Toyota service and told them a/c water leak, they said they will fix that, on the service report printed:" customer states there is a water leak", "work performed by xxxx", "cleaned a/c drain". But the manager lied to me, he said there is no recall. ------ not sure if it is totally fixed, car still very moist, smell is bad, even after open car's 4 doors, put the carpet bask in the sun for few days. ------ yesterday, I found another Toyota service report and recall letter from Toyota on 12/28/2013, and this report shows they "performed work by xxxx. " . I totally forgot this car recalled and already performed the "fix" for a/c water leak problem, obviously, Toyota service did not fix this problem and they lied to me. ------ this Camry has damage under carpet because of water leak, it may cause some electric circuits problems in the future, I don't want to be worry everyday, so I don't want this car any more (the lease term will end in one more year and a month, I paid $3000 down payment for 3 year lease, also every month payment). What is my choice? ------ thanks!.
After 3 days I finally got around to looking for the trunk lock - I. E . The key lock feature that disables the trunk release next to the driver. Only there isn't one! how could this be? my recently traded 2003 Honda and older Honda's I've owned all had this feature - I assumed Toyota did too - a detail that didn't loom large when initially reviewing the car because I assumed it had one. So after research and much to my dismay (I returned a perfect 2014 rav4 because I felt "exposed" with items in the interior luggage area) I now find this vehicle also "exposes" me to potential loss because I cannot secure my personal items. I am not the first to comment to this flaw and Toyota certainly has had time to correct the issue (2 yrs) but apparently decided not to. Toyota should correct this flaw as soon as possible - the best selling car in America can be a thief's best too.

When entering my garage, the car automatically accelerated crashing through the back wall of the garage. I applied the brake but they didn't appear to work as the car was accelerating too fast. The car finally came a stop in the backyard against a fence post that was in concrete.
Dash board is extremely sticky and shiny causing driving visablity to be very dangerous.

Stuck accelerator petal entered I-75 s on-ramp at ellenton FL and was accelerating. At about 60 mph, rapid acceleration occurred. I was quickly approaching a tractor trailer about mid-river ( manatee river), checked the cruise control light (not on) and hit the brakes. The brakes slowed the vehicle from 70mph but the engine continued to race. I had the brake petal fully engaged, which decreased speed to about 40 mph. I pulled onto the berm about one-half mile past bridge and while keeping foot on brake pulled gear shift into neutral. Engine was fully engaged producing a loud screeching sound. I brought the car to a stop. The car was towed by aaa to a local transmission repair shop. . Wording on repair estimate is as follows: work requested: accelerator petal stuck. Work performed: diagnose to air intake boot deteriorated, found small piece fell off and jammed into throttle plate, install new air intake boot. (air mass meter boot). (the defective deteriorating boot is in my possession. ).

Stop with traffic in front. Car hits me into traffic from be hind vary fast damage to frone and back swashed my car. Air bags did not go off for a fast hit front and back all at the same bag. That is what making me scared of being in the car.
For about a little over a year now, the dashboard on my Toyota Camry has reacted very oddly to the heat it endures. The dashboard looks like it melts when its hot outside then becomes very sticky. It looks terrible. If you touch it, it feels like glue. The dashboard gets so slimy that if you actually puncture it with a fingernail, the material of the dashboard gets under your nail. I have only had my vehicle for four years and I am very disappointed with Toyota.
Dashboard of subject vehicle started displaying signs of a very sticky substance in the summer of 2013. I purchased this vehicle in Dec. Of 2010 with one previous owner . . Signs of melting dashboard did not appear for several years past the warranty. Internet search reveals that numerous Toyota owners have experienced this same problem. After dealing with Toyota directly, I was told they would provide a replacement dashboard but that I would have to pay $624 in labor. My position is that this is either a products liability, implied warranty of merchantability, or latent defect issue and has no bearing on an expired warranty. In addition, there may be a safety concern with deployment of the airbag due to deteriorating dashboard, not to mention the possibility of toxic fumes circulating throughout the vehicle. . The dash board is very sticky and went the sunlights hit in directly it reflects the sun into my ejes this occurs every day. I live in puerto rico and this is my travel car every day when the sun is always shinning. This make me cause to put a tinted glass paper to reduce the sunlight reflecttion frontal the dashboard but it continúe to reflectantes the sun light.
Dashboard is melting, stick.
Upon purchasing this car in/2013 we immediately had trouble with the 12 v cigarrette lighters. Plugging in the standard items like a cell phone or gps will only get us about 20 minutes at brst , before blowing the fuses. It doesn't matter which power point we use, it happens in each if them. The place we bought the car examined the situation three times and couldn't decipher the problem. A Toyota dealership would charge over $100 just for a diagnostic check. Due to this problem we don't feel safe traveling far with the vehicle, being unable to charge cell hone, gps, or safety cameras. The car is otherwise very reliable, but for a battery which suddenly died on us one very cold night. We weete surprised it didn't dive a warning that it might need replacing soon. As for the electrical problem, we were told we may be able to purchase an alternative external system to compensate for the cigarette lighters, from a place like best buy.
The driver's side sun visor has broken and will not stay up in place. There is no way to keep this up and it becomes a driving hazard. Removal of the visor then leaves the driver blind from the light of the sun in the morning and in the evening. It is apparent that this part fails on a regular basis and that Toyota has continued to use the same mechanism in the Toyota Camry sun visor over a several year span and simply uses it as a revenue source from the driving public.
While driving (at various speeds) the sunvisor on the driver's side falls down blocking vision via the front windshield. As a safety measure and to prevent an accident I have taped by sunvisor in the up position to ensure in does not fall down. I called Toyota and inquired as to whether there had been a recall and the said no. My only course of action is to pay to have sunvisor changed out.
I was driving don't remember the date but early part of tis year the visor on the driver just drop almost hit the car in front of me. It started like getting hard to snap back in place at first but just drop. The visor on passenger side did the same thing bout two week later took it todealer he told me it was nothing they could do wasn't a recall so I had to pay for it. Needly to say I have no job and no visor. This car was new when I bought it in the last of 2009,with 307 miles. And it nothing can be done I see all these other people with the same problems on this gov. Site and nothing been done yet I guess someone got to get hurt or kill first. Why hasn't it been a recall to correct this problem.
I have a 2010 Toyota Camry. It has been to the dealer 3x since I purchased it due to a whining sound which appeared shortly after the car was purchased. I have been told each time that there was a noise but it wasn't unusual. 3 weeks ago I took the car in for an oil change and I complained of the same whining noise problem and asked them to do the "fixes" on the car for the Toyota accelerating problems. (the pedal and the rug - which I was instructed to take out in the past). When I picked up the car I was told that all Camrys have the same whining noise and I don't know what was done, if anything, to the pedal but I was told to put back in the same mat which had been in my garage. I have had several Toyotas in the past and am not trying to jump on the bandwagon but I am very concerned about the noise and what was done, if anything, to make sure my family is safe in the car. I have owned several Toyotas in the past and have had no complaints. It only has 4,000 miles on it.
I have received 2 floormat recall notices from Toyota. In their 2nd floormat recall notice, Toyota states "as an additional measure independent of the vehicle-based recall remedy, Toyota will install a newly designed override system in your vehicle to provide an extra measure of confidence. This system will cut engine power in case of simultaneous application of both accelerator and brake pedals at certain speeds and driving conditions. This installation will also be conducted at no charge to you. " my dealer has advised me that I have the proper floormat and it is properly installed therefore he cannot install only the override system. He states all 3 modifications must be done. As Toyota's recall notice clearly states the override system will be installed "independent. . . . " this extra measure of confidence should be afforded to me and the override system should be installed in my 2008 Camry le. Request your assistance.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry built in japan. I noticed that it is not included in the acceleration or floormat recalls. Do the cars built in japan not have the same problems as those built in America? if not, what is different that excludes my car from the recall? my VIN # begins with a "j".
Almost everyone knows that Toyota had recalled 4m cars, and one of the cars is the latest model of Camry, I own 2009 Camry, sent to dealer. They reset the computer, installed a brake override system, inserted a steel bar into the pedal assembly, and cut 1 in. Of the plastic shoe pedal and rounded it at the end. Now the plastic shoe pedal is not only shorter but also slippery because they rounded it. Before modification, the shoe pedal measurement is around 4. 5 in x 1. 5 in. Square with 2 horizontal lines at the end of the shoe pedal. (2 horizontal lines at the bottom prevent foot from slipping and square shape to have enough room for the foot to step on). Now, they cut short the shoe pedal, the measurement is 3. 5 in x 1. 5 in (rounded, eliminated the 2 horizontal lines), it not square anymore. I looked at others cars, Honda, Nissan, Ford, volks, . . . None of them have a shorter and rounded shoe pedals. . . The shoe pedal is design to have a certain length and square at the end. This is not a good call form Toyota. This is not a safe. Toyota is trying to design it to prevent interfere w/ the mat, unfortunately all they have to do is to make sure that their mat is intact and clip on. I called on the dealer and complained about it. . . They advised me to call the Toyota hotline, which I did. They said they will look into it. I am only one voice. Others might not notice it. Until it is too late. This is a concern that I think should be looked upon. Many lives have been lost already . . . We do not want to add more people in the list of deaths or injuries. Please hear this message. Thank you.
I just bought a 2010 Toyota Camry and they did not tell me that there were 3 million in recalls on the vehicle. That is very dishonest. I also took my car to the service center and they said they did not know about the recall. That is lying. Toyota did not look at my floormats or accelerator. They did nothing to secure my safety or evaluate my floormat or accelerator when I went in there.
Toyota customer and owner with unfortunate problems with my car driven normally in the ordinary course of the day as an elder. The electrical system has failed, the oil leaks, the floormat interferes with the accelerator pedal and sticks, interfering with braking experienced recently on the NY-CT highway. I paid to repair the electrical failure and oil leaks and still the electrical system as indicated for example by the dashboard which is continuously lit up, I. E. Is still not working properly. 2007 runaway Toyota problem-dot has put out a recall notice on my 2007 Toyota Camry le indicating that Toyota's remedy of removing the drivers side floor mat does not resolve the problem and that there is an unindentified safety deficiency. Since the problem in all probability relates to a computer chip governing the accelerator or the functioning of the accelerator pedal, permitting millions of Toyotas to operates with a hidden safety hazard is inappropriate. Toyota should be required in a very short finite time period to resolve the problem or recall the cars and reimburse owners. Defective cars that can cause deaths should not be permitted to roam the highways.
Floor mat interference with accelerator pedal.
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) the incident: accelerated gas pedal the incident took place on crain hwy, glen burnie at the intersection of crain hwy/aquahart rd on 9/26/2009. I was traveling on crain highway when I came to a stop at a traffic light. I applied pressure on the break. And thought I had come to a complete stop when my 2007 Toyota Camry ce had unexpectedly jolted forward. I immediately applied both feet on the brake pedal and said "wow that was weird" I didn't think much about the incident other than I just being a freak malfunction. Only until the recent recalls of my Toyota model was it brought to my attention that I may have experienced the accelerated gas pedal malfunction with my vehicle. No accidents were a result of the incident; however I was shaken up a bit. I received a recall notice from Toyota in late January explaining that my 2007 Toyota Camry was part of a recall to replace the drivers side floor mat and that I was going to receive more information about recall locations in early April/may. After reading newspapers and watching news reports of the public recall announcement identifying the Toyota models that was part of the recall involving accelerated gas pedals. My 2007 Toyota Camry was part of the models identified so I took my vehicle to darcars Toyota of baltimore, 6000 eastern Ave , baltimore MD on January,10, 2010 and was turned away claiming my vehicle was not part of the recall. I received official notification from Toyota on 3/8/2010 with instruction on where to go and information about the recall on my 2007 Toyota Camry ce purchased may 2006. I have made an appointment with my local Toyota dealership to have my vehicle serviced. VIN # [xxx].
My wife hit the brake as she was parking in front of a strip mall and the car accelerated into a store front causing minor damage to both the store and the car. The floor mat had bunched up under the brake pedal and above the gas pedal. The car is a 2002 Toyota solara convertible. I am reporting the incident now because this year and model are not included in the Toyota recall for this problem. It should be. I reported the incident to Toyota several months ago and they thanked me for the input.

I purchased a 2010 Toyota Camry in July 2009. I was returning home from visiting relatives in NJ. In early August. I was on a stretch of highway leading into 290 worchester from the mass pike auburn, when I accelerated to pass a semi truck and the accelerator stuck. I reached a speed of 85mph, so I punched the pedal with my feet and it dislodged. I reported the incident to the prime Toyota dealership in saco,me. 's service dept. In Nov. When I brought in the vehicle for a routine oil change. They had me remove the floor mats. I recently had the recall repair, so far there has not been another incident, but I am still leery about accelerating quickly and have not attempted to test pressing the pedal to the floor.
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) on 8/10/9 we purchased a new 2010 Toyota Camry le, VIN [xxx]. This vehicle has been recalled at least two times for two defects. No one seems to know what the problem gas pedal, floor mat, electronics etc. Since August we have only driven this vehicle 4,200 miles because are afraid of sudden excel ration and other phenomena that might occur. Moreover, we have lost a substantial sum on this vehicle due to the problems. We have lost confidence in Toyota and its dealership. They lie, mislead, and give out wrong information. There is a real safety problem with Toyota and all they do is deny.
While merging onto I-5 I pushed the resume speed selection on speed control. The car sped up and exceeded the preset speed of 59 mph and reached 80 mph. Neither applying the brakes or pushing the speed controls on/off switch turned the speed control off. I turned the key off and on to control the steering and used the parking brake to get the car to the shoulder. This was a very freighting experience so I just sat there for a while. I started the car and the engine a couple times and rpms went to the red line. The floor mat was laying flat and hooked. I looked under hood and nothing looked unusual. I started the engine again and it ran normally. I phoned the dealer's service dept, and they said it was probably the floor mats and a recall notice was in the works. We have driven the car about 5000 miles since incident, but we don't use the speed control. I am scheduled to have the accelerator pedal replaced this week.
